I had prepared the AOS today. I am self employed and have included tax transcripts as I see it includes schedule C and D etc. Now I am confused. Do we need to submit tax returns or not?

Well after the status on AOS invoice says Paid you can print the barcode sheet and send the AOS to NVC. I also hope your parents has sent the DS3032 to NVC via email, if that has not been done, please do it ASAP. Once the DS3032 has been received and processed by NVC, you will see IV fee invoiced and you pay for it and that will allow you to print a barcode and send the DS230 along with the other civil docs that NVC needs. After this in a couple of weeks NVC should close your case and put in in line for visa interview this all depends on the country and the embassy.

Yes they had my email address on file. I guess they are getting them form the G-1145 form. Thanks for all the help.

I Just called NVC and received a case number, invoice ID number, and gave my wife's email. Very happy to receive the case no. I see the fees are not yet invoiced. But is it ok to send the DS3032 form?

I also heard that you get it the same day in a couple of hours. How did you apply for this? Didn't you need an interview letter? Or did they accept NOA2?

Thank you Saylin for answering my previous question. I also have a question on I-864 AOS. I am self employed. Do I need to included a copy of my tax returns or tax transcripts should be ok? I am reading in the instructions that I need to include tax returns for being self employed. Here is a copy and paste form the instructions:

"If you checked box 22(b) (self-employed), you should have completed one of the following forms with your Federal income tax return: Schedule C (Profit or Loss from Business), Schedule D (Capital Gains), Schedule E (Supplemental Income or Loss) or Schedule F (Profit or Loss from Farming). You must include each and every Form 1040 Schedule, if any, that you filed with your Federal tax return."

"If you are currently self-employed, a copy of your Schedule C, D, E or F from your most recent Federal Tax Return

which establishes your income from your business."

Profit statement form my CPA as of July 30th 2012

Business bank account statements form Jan to July 2012 to establish income deposits.

Tax Transcripts for 2009, 2010 and 2011 (might include tax return along with all the schedules for the most recent year depending on the answer I get here)

Would this be sufficient? Last year my income was about 60k and the previous years I had income of only couple grands just from investments as I was a student. This year my profit is only $15k so far (july end). But I do still project to make 60k this year as well. I do not have any dependents, just my wife whom I am sponsoring. Do you think I need a joint sponsor? Thanks again in advance for answering my question.

We got our NOA2 on July 18th, NVC received on July 23rd. Still waiting for a case number. Now in the mean time we are trying to get all the documents ready. My wife is in India and I want her to mail all the IV docs to me as soon as they are ready, and not have to wait for a case number to be assigned. Now my question is on DS230 what date should she fill in next to her signature? Is it ok to have it dated before NVC case number is assigned?

Hi, I called NVC just a couple hours ago and they said they are entering it in the system and I should wait for them to contact me. They did not give me the case no, and she kept on repeating "the case is being entered in the system, and we will be contacted"

Is this what people are getting now? Because earlier they kept on telling me I should wait 10-20 business days. Should I call them again?

I think it is best to go with OCI, there are multiple advantages.

I called NVC today and they said they received our petition on July 23th, and our NOA2 was dated July 18th. They said to give it another 10-15 business days before they assign a case number.

Thank you guys for your help. Most people submit an employment letter. Now I can't nor I have pay stub. I can create my current profit statement. Should I submit that?

Our petition was approved just on July 18th. My income in 2011 was about 50k. My income from previous years was only a couple grand, as I was a student. I am self employed so I can't arrange for employment letter. I made about 30k this year so far. Do we meet the requirement or do I need a joint sponsor? what form do I need to file out. Thanks for any help in advance.

Our file got approved on the 18th of April. Our NOA1 day is April 27th. Approved in 82 days.

I see some mid-april petition being approved, one from April 17th and 19th. I hope CSC keeps the pace.

I would like to add that marriage between Indian and American (white or black) is very hard to register, due to Indian marriage laws.

Dude....NVC is aware of the situation here in India particularly in Gujarat, Ahmedabad. To get PCC from Passport Office u will hav to get Local PCC from Local Police Station where ur wife resides currently. That process will take abt 2 weeks i guess but it depends on region to region. I am from Baroda and here to obtain PCC from Local POlice Station it takes abt 2-3 weeks.

First obtain Local PCC and send a copy of that with ur DS-230 Package mentioning in the cover letter that Passport office needs Interview Letter from NVC to issue PCC, so ur wife would provide PCC from Passport Office at the time of Interview. NVC will accept that.....But i suggest do all this after ur NOA2 coz after NOA2 it will take abt 2-3 weeks for ur petition to reach NVC and Create ur Case Number. U can obtain Local PCC as soon as ur NOA2 arrives.

My wife and I are awaiting NOA2. In the mean time I asked my wife to obtain PCC from passport office in Ahmedabad. Most of you from Gujarat are aware that they need a interview letter to issue a PCC. PCC is required to be submitted to NVC and only after that the interview letter is issues. How do I go about getting Ahmedabad passport office to issue my wife a PCC before NVC stage? Or do I have to send in all the NVC docs to NVC and wait for them to issue me a checklist. This will delay the process. Any help in this regards will be appreciated.

MY NOA1 date is April 27th. I see USCIS CSC approved one early April petition. I think we would be approved soon.

Emirates and Qatar Airways do allow 2 free check-in bags at no extra cost. So I hope it does not matter whether ticket is bought from India or USA.

Yes, I see that Indian agents/sites charge little more than US websites.

Qatar, Emirates & Air India are just one of the few airlines left that allow 2 free checked bags. I am also thinking to buy tickets from US for my wife to come here. We are thinking to buy Lufthansa as they have service to Detroit Metro, and that would be her POE and I can be there just incase of any issue.

My marriage was registered in Ahmedabad as well, and local marriage registrar office does issue certified copy whenever I want to get one. They need your original marriage certificate to issue certified copy. My wife brought about 8 to 10 certified copies. There is a nominal charge of around 50 or less rupees per certified copy.

I submitted one in I-130 application and approved with no issues. I am going to use the same certified marriage certificate for NVC. Certified copy means a document issued by the marriage registrar office which has rights to issue your original marriage certificate. NVC will not accept certified copy.

BTW what have you submitted in your I-130 application to USCIS?

Thanks! For the suggestion I will ask my wife to go to AMC for certified copies. We submitted a xerox copy of our marriage certificate with her I130.

My wife currently lives in Ahmedabad. We tried to get a duplicate original copy of the marriage certificate, however they said it is not possible to get another original. I do not want to send the only original we have to NVC. What do they mean by certified copy? Is it a xerox copy signed by the issuing agency?

our case was entirely completed at NVC and already sent to Embassy before the first doc arrived at my wife's house (ds3032)

we would have wasted about 2 months, had we waited.

call....get your NVC case number., as soon as you got it, submit the ds 3032.........or waste 2 months....your call

Hello everyone, This is my first post. I would also like to thank VJ for the help it has provided in filing I130 for my wife.

We recently got my wife's new passport with her married name, however she signed all the applications and documents for this new passport with her maiden signature and so as a result the new passport contains her maiden signature, but the name on the passport is married name. Further more the G325a form was signed using her married signature. Is this going to be a problem in the future with NVC stage, green card, travel etc? If so does anyone have any suggestions?
