  1. So, my wife had her interview today at the Belize consulate in Belmopan. After finding out I did not have to be present she went and did it alone( for a CR1 visa, don't know about K1), which means I'll fly down next week and we'll fly back home together!

She said the interview was really good, only four simple, basic questions. She said he was super nice. They didn't ask for anything, not even our wedding pictures. I'm guessing it was because we had adequate evidence to begin with, but who knows.

Keep in mind our case was expedited at the last moment, right when we finished the NVC due to some hardship issues that came up suddenly. This basically just got our interview date pushed up. So it still took us a good 264 days to get through the process with a ton of roadblocks. But a couple things i learned is:

1.never complain because some one always has it worse than you, or has waited longer. Many people wait longer than we have, so the way I see it we are blessed!

    2. Always spend time on your packets, get the dates right and follow the directions. make the evidence balanced, not too much, not too little.

    3. Visa Journey is awesome, We wouldn't have made it these past 10 months without it! So THANKS!

    4. And last but not least, if you have faith and trust in God, He will never let you down, ever!

  2. Hey thanks! it will be interesting since most the people in that thread were at manilla. Belize seems to do things in an interesting fashion, but my guess is that they are processing my case there still. They kept saying "we will contact you" and since my wife doesn't have an exact street address in her village i'm hoping they call(which they said they would) we will see. Thanks again

It depends on the US Embassy. For US Embassy in Manila, it took 7 days for batibot's case to be processed after arrival. Please see this thread. http://www.visajourn...91301-expedite/

  3. HI Visa Journey,

My case was expedited at the tail end of my process through NVC, I have been tracking the case which left thursday 20th and DHL confirmed my case reached Belmopan, Belize consulate on thursday the 27th of september. Both me and my wife have called the embassy asking about the case, and the women (she was nice to us, but wouldn't give us any info) informed us that she will contact us when she has the physical copy of our case. Well, i know the physical case is at the embassy and my question is does it usually take time for them to get back to you and schedule an interview through an expedite, I thought the point of an emergency expedite was for it to go as fast as possible.Do these things go through vast mail rooms or is it different or every consulate? I am not trying to sound overly impatient since many have waited longer than the 9 months I have, but something very terrible came up and any knowledge on this would be greatly appreciated.

    thanks!!!smile.gif

Just got my expedite approved today to Belmopan, Belize! Don't really know if they sent the physical copy yet. I hope my DHL package shows up soon.

  5. I think I'll just put another set of copies in there, and this time write in a cover letter that the documents fulfill the requirement for my country.

Let's just say that the new and 'improved' system is not as efficient as it used to be:).

We shouldn't have to be worried about our birth certificates not looking official. Swedes have emigrated to the US using these very same forms for years and years. Nothing new!

something just like this happened to me today. My wife was born in Guatemala, but is a Belizean citizen. They said some pish posh about her original birth certificate not being original. I called right away (knowing that their is no way that can be true since all 13 of her brothers and sisters have the exact same form). They told me they were going to check with a supervisor, could be 15 days, wow. Her ds-230 also had a mistake apparently being one really sucks, she has always lived in the same place, so the dates were tricky because they say since you were 16. Low and behold i had to refill out the entire form.

these places are just great aren't they?

I was worried because mine came so much later,(than the others i was following) and I didn't think I had any apparent red flags so i was like what is up!!, but vermont was just going slow. I got a text message when i was out and it just said "your case has been updated" so I was nervous that it could have been a bad update, but when i got home i saw that It was an approval!!!!!!!!!!God is good, and If you trust him, he will never let you down.

  7. those are all K-1's haha, sometimes this stinks so much it's just worth laughing about. Oh well maybe they will do i-130's also soon, especially the jan ones! It is a lot in one day for this site isn't it.

    LETS HOPE SO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

  8. i mean i called and requested a service request, that's why i got one, you can do the same, but sometimes they don't let know and reasons vary.

How long did you wait between the service request & their response? My processing is at CSC & it's been a week so far & no updates.

My I-130 was filed before yours...maybe they didn't get to the January filers yet? Even though some people who filed after us got approved. Let's just hope for the best, what else can we do?

  9. The service request goes through the national customer service center to wherever your application is at, (mine is at vermont) then they have to update you within 15 days, but sadly, an update doesn't always mean approval as you see with my case.Once they "update you" they or may not send you the same email i got pr you could be just approved right away. My case is clear cut and dry, pretty easy, so i am guessing something went wrong somewhere, just do not know. You are right though at least i know......i hope, because you never really know with immigration.

So when a service request is submitted, does that guarantee that they will review the application within the 60 days? If so it's better than nothing I suppose...mine was sent June 28th. :(

  10. Has anyone contacted vermont today and asked what date they are currently processing? The other day they were processing the 23rd of January. Just want to see if they have moved ahead yet seeing that my date is the 26th. Any help today or this week (if you call and ask) would be so helpful. I would call myself, but i already have a bunch of times, thought i would wait until they say they are on the 26th!

    Thanks!

  11. three days ago they told me they are working on jan 23 and that was two different people.

I understand clearly. I am a January 19 filer and I still have not heard anything from vermont. Last time I called they claimes still working on 6/9. Three weeks and they are still working on 6/9 filers... that is creazy. Dont make any sense at all.

  12. Just called! Both people were real nice, and I was pretty forward with them but polite. They both said they are working on January 23, uhhh yeah, i don't buy it. I tried to get transferred to a tier 2 but the one woman refused, unbelievable. So....i spoke to her, i told her "ok so january 23, then i'll just call in 3 days" then she was like "no, you should probably call in 30" then i said "okay i'll talk to you in 3."

  13. did you ask to speak to a tier 2 when you called this time????????????

    persistent helps.

because tomorrow is my date, 5 months, and they told me last week to call on this date, so i'm just gunna do what he told me, i'll be nice, but persistent! This is our lives after all, not a game of risk (pun intended)

did you ask to speak to a tier 2 when you called this time????????????

  14. I can not tell you how many times i have considered that. I already lived there(belize) for a year, loved it! Would move back to paradise in a second. Don't get me wrong i loove my country. My wife has never been to the states though, so i really owe to her to get to see my culture also,(even though some of it sucks i.e. this process, the government) The waiting stinks, but i think it will be worth it to experience so many "firsts" with her.

Talk about being upset if that happend. I may be temped to sell everything and just move there. Another reason we need a new admin in dc.

  15. what exactly is the "tier 2" i really know nothing about calling, all i know is the times i have called i had to press all kinds of numbers just to talk to a guy, is there a direct and easy way to talk to a customer service rep without going into various other categories?

yes, you should try to get some help. don't waste time.
