1. Dear VJers

This is really exciting for both for us that my husband has his interview in one day :) Does anybody know what kind of questions they might ask durig the interview or how should be prepare himself? Our process so far went really well and hope we can make it through this step also. Thanks a lot to everybody :)

  2. Once the casse # is assigned, I have heard it takes 4-6 weeks to get the process finished with them even without expedition. I am not sure why you have not heard anything from them. Have you send your signed choice of agent form? You can send it without having been asked for that. if your expedite request gets approved it should be a week to 10 days, that's how long it took for mine, i had my case expedited for medical reasons.

  3. Dear VJ members,

My I-130 for my husband has been processed at NVC and received a letter from them dated 04-06-12 saying that my case has been forwarded to the New Delhi consulate general. I had my case expedited for medical reasons and letter said that the consulate general will also do the expedite processing on this case.

Does anybody know what is next step or what we can expect to hear from the consulate? My husband and I both called the New Delhi consulate to inquire about the case and they gave us another phone # to call, called that # to find out that they only have the information about the cases that either have had their interviews or have scheduled dates. The rep said we should just wait for to hear from the consulate. How do I find out if they are doing the expedite processing and what is normal time it takes to hear from the consulate after your case arrives there?

    Thanks a lot

  4. I feel like he could try that but only if she's high risk.... if it were that easy to get cases expedited based on pregnancy then EVERYONE would get pregnant.

It is not the pregnancy, but one's situation while they are in that state that may need requesting the expedite. That's why I mentioned if his wife is facing any hardships while she is pregnant and if her husband can provide better care for her. Everything you say has to be backed by documents and I don't know if they will take "pregnancy" alone as a reason for expedition. With that, I am not sure how many people would actually try to get pregnant just to have their cases expedited. These cases can take at the most up to a year for processing and once your are together you wouldn't remember the time spent being away from each other. whereas, timing of having children or having children effects your / child's life and the years to come. I wouldn't think it would be a wise thing to bring a new life into the world just for the sake of increasing the number of months you will live together with your spouse.

  5. Carlos503, I would call the USCIS to request an expedite on your case. Explain them your wife's situation if she is going through any hardships because of you not being with her, and why she needs to be with you (or you need to be there when the child is born). You will have to write a letter from your self and would be a good idea to go through your congressman when submitting the documents. It might work, but certainly doesn't hurt trying.

I had a high risk pregnancy and was able to get by husband's case expedited based on that.

    Good luck

  6. Before you mail out your AOS packet, you also send NVC the DS-3032 choice of agent form. I think this is the form that would have the bar code. Have you called the NVC to find out if they have assigned your file a case #? If you have that case number you can put that on the DS-3032 form and mail to the NVC without waiting for to receive anything from them.

  7. Hello all,

I received my NOA1 on Jan 17th, requested an expedite, and submitted the docs through Congressman on March 1st. On March 7th, I got a letter from my Congressman saying "The VSC will expedite this petition based on humanitarian reasons".

Today I received another letter from the Congressman saying "....has been forwarded on for review and adjudication processing to an Immigration Serivices Officer (ISO).

If further evidence is needed, the ISO will request same by forwarding the Request for Evidence on to the petitioner. If no further evidence is needed, the ISO will make a final adjudication decision. An interim or final decision should be made within ten days from the date of the approval of the expedite request; however, if additional time is needed for background security checks, the case could be delayed longer. We have on control over that process."

Does anybody know how the expedite process works? What can I expect next? If I am not wrong, the positive review and adjudication process would result into approval of the case, and I would recieve the NOA2. When the case goes to NVC, would it still be processed as an "expedited" case or I'd have to request another expedite with the NVC?

    Thanks a lot!

    Anybody care to reply?

    tx

  9. hello optimistic,

we got our noa1 on the 6th of jan, and applied for an expedite, based on the same reason you gave ( high risk pregnancy )

this request was denied a few days later, saying it didnt match their criteria,

we sent an email to the senators office, and they sent an email on our behalf to the csc , whom replied that they never recieved our supporting documentation and this is why it was denied ( this was a lie, because after sending the documents to the csc via fax we phones them , spoke to a tier 2 and they told us the docs where there, the senators office asked us to send them the supporting documentation, and sign a release foem, they submited the request again on our behalf and this was approved, we recieved our noa2 email the same day that our senator informed us that the expedite request had been aproved

our doctor wrote a letter, it was a simple letter basically is stated that m wife was his patient, that she had a possative pregnancy test on the xxxxx , that she suffered from xxxx making the pregnancy one of possible complications to both the baby and her health, and that it would be appreciated if the uscis would expedite my case as it would be of great benefit to my wife for me to be there as soon as possible, he also provided some case studies for us to send along with the letter concerning previous examples of my wifes situation.

    Hello Sulph:

Thanks a bunch for posting and I am really glad you got the expedition request approved. These types of responses really make me strong and feel hopeful.

Did you also include a personal hardship letter along with your Dr's letter with the supporting documents? Majority of the members here have suggested to include a letter explaining as much detail as possible.

Wishing you best of luck with the rest of the processing and the pregnancy :)

  11. Hello all,

I am a new member to this community, so, I apologize in advance if this topic or similar has already been discussed.Though, I did try to search for similar but was not able to find.

    So here is my situation:

I am a US citizen and got married in Dec 2011, came back to the US in Jan. 2012 and filed I-130 for my husband for which I have received NOA1, my service center is Vermont. I am living by self in the country and found out I am pregnant and this is a high risk pregnancy.

I requested an expedite for my husband's I-130 on the phone on the basis of high risk pregnancy, and I received the following response from the USCIS:

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has reviewed your request for expedited processing of your application or petition based on medical reasons. In order for USCIS to grant the requested expedite, you must submit documentation that supports your claim for an extreme emergent need.

    The documents may include:

-- A letter written by the attending physician that describes the patient's current condition, diagnosis, and prognosis.

-- A letter written and signed by you that explains why your application or petition should be expeditiously processed.

-- Any other information you feel will support your request for expedited processing.

I have to send them the requested docs in 20 days from the date of I received this notice (2/13/2012). I have talked with my Dr. and he is more than willing to help me with this, but he is asking for a format or some sort of "example" for the letter he would have to write. Has anyone gone through this procedure or have any info on how this letter should be written? Any type of help would be greatly appreciated. I again urge the community members to give any help / suggestion possible to put this together.

Thanks to all of you for taking time to read and respond.
