Yes I emailed them with it attached, with all the info I told you earlier. The only thing that goes is the DS230 (read above)lol. No, DS230 should not be sent for your daughter, she is not applying for a visa. Hope this clears it up.

Thank you for your help, unfortunately the UK requires all of the above forms in 'packet 3' to be mailed, apparently it differs from different Embassy's. I better get cracking lol.

Thanks for the advice on the daughter also, she's getting me confused! I didn't want her to be named on the DS230 and then the embassy wonder how the hell she is getting there since there is no visa.

Think I may include a cover note with her SSN etc.

If you are talking about Ques 29 on the DS230, it says list ALL children. So yes you should list that child and any other children you have.

I chatted with a nice gentleman at NVC today. He indicated that our case file was sent to the consulate last Friday.... out of AP !!!! Checked DHL this morning, indicates that our package is likely in Guangzhou DHL facility, awaiting diplomatic clearance and delivery to GUZ. We are starting to mobilize our resources and gearing up for the next step in our immigration journey.....

DS230 HELP!!

I have a child who is a US citizen, we registered her birth abroad at the London Embassy. She has a birth certificate, American passport & social security number and she will be moving with me.

Technically she will be moving at the same time as me, but not on the K1, she is a US citizen. This may sound silly but it's really confusing me. Do I have to name her on the 'packet' paperwork?

Packet 3 is the instruction package. It tells you all the stuff you need to get for your interview and it also comes with the DS230 form that you must send back to the embassy to get your interview date. Yes the financial stuff goes with you to the interview, the only thing that you send to the embassy before your interview is the form DS-230

I have a question about packet 3, this is the biometric data right?

Financial support, does this go with me to the interview? Such as affidavit? Or is this sent another time?

I dont think there is a fee to submit packet 3. Only a fee for the visa which is currently $350 but if you book your interview on or after April 13th the fee will reduce to $240 :dance:

I got my police certificate for $40 and I think the medical will be $215 (in Canada). But in UK the medical fee is £227.

AOS is about $1070.

I'm sorry to hear that. I called the NVC today and they have received our documents and assigned us a case number. We received our NOA2 a week ago, on 4/2/12. I hope your materials arrive soon!

Could any body let me know what fees are to be paid next up? I understand there is a fee to submit packet 3, then a fee for the visa.

This end a fee for a police certificate and medical examination.

Then once over, $1000 for adjustment of status. Have I missed any off?

13 buisness days later and the NVC still do not have our petiton. What on earth are they doing?

Just wanted to say that our interview was Tuesday in Rio de Janeiro and we got approved!!!

It was sooooo easy and the CO was nice and friendly.

That is frustrating, sometimes the delay is with the USCIS Mail room. I think it will get there soon, just keep calling them.

Fiancé just called NVC again. NOA2 22nd March-still no record on the system!! Urghhh.

Honestly, don't hesitate to call them. My NOA2 was 3/28. They got my file yesterday. CALL THEM!! I know the wait is killing you..lol.

Well the case# is used to send packet 3 via email before you receive it by mail.This will speed up the process, because sometimes packet 3 takes very long to get to you if it ever does at all. So to answer your question, it does the good after the embassy receive your case. You don't have to do it that way if you don't want to , you can wait on packet 3 in the mail, but most people want it to go as fast it can. Good luck.

Don't worry about your July wedding it is still very possible. Call them again tomorrow and every day after, we got approved on the 20th and it didn't get there until Friday.Since they go by working days, Tuesday would be the same time as ours took, but it may not get there tomorrow. Just call them everyday, it is on its way. Good luck!

We received NOA2 on the 22nd, fiance just called and it still isn't there.

They said that it can take up to 20 business days to get there!!! What the hell. Does anybody have experience of this?

NVC received our case today! We got the case number. Next stop is the embassy , hopefully we don't get an interview date too far away. Hope you October Filers are doing well and things are chugging along.

This may sound incredibly stupid. But how do we know when the NVC has received our case?

It takes about 6 weeks or so, maybe less.

i would say 3 months at most from NOA2 to interview in London so you should have plenty of time. just be ready to return packet 3 and take your medical as soon as you hear from the embassy.

How long does it usually take from NOA2 to receiving packet 3?

To anybody that has experience of the K1 visa... We had our NOA2 on 22nd march, we are planning on getting married on July 21st, this is almost 18 weeks from the approval date, is this long enough? Realistically am I going to be there within the next 18 weeks? I have no idea how long it takes from here!

Please help before we book our venue!
