  1. Hi everyone, I just received my visa packae this morning, and I found out one corner of the envelope is cut by the Embassy. As I know we are not allowed to open the envelope. I am just curious that the cutting corner of the envelope is normal? Thank you!

  2. I can tell she isn't the alpha type of girl, but more of a princess. so your toilet seat should always be down.

Hahaha, most of young Chinese girls r just like princess. My fiance has always complained about this too. lol. Congratulations! Wish you two a happy journey in life.

Cant wait for the interview in three weeks and go back to US being with my fiancé forever again. :) :)

  3. My fiancé just got off the phone with DOS, finally got my interview date set on Oct 29th. Omg, another one month waiting!!!

Is it possible to "negotiate" our interview date? I am just concerned that our early Jan wedding will be further postponed. (already postponed once due to the VSC mess)

  4. Lol, I called white swan hotel, they said there is no phone inquiry, have to email swan@whiteswanhoyel.com for any consulate EMS status.

I think the DOS timetick was "GZ consulate has our P3, but hasn't set an appointment date yet" and asked my fiancé to check in back end of this month.

    :( :( :(

you emailed from your telephone? OK - +20 points for being creative, la.

what's the exact casefile status for today, when you call DoS Hotline? (# in my profile, click the girls or my name, study left panel)

  5. Uncle Darnell, yes I indeed emailed to White Swan Hotel, they replied GZ consulate had picked up my P3 on Sep 12th 9am!!! Which is exact two weeks now.

When my fiancé called DOS on monday, they even complained that my fiancé made too much inquiry emails to GZ consulate. Omg, what the hell?

    Really discouraging... :( :( :(

whilst yer waiting - make a new buddy.

    Who, you ask?

Why, the concierge at the White Swan Hotel. Use a TelePhone.

    Good Luck !

  6. Thank you Uncle Darnell.

Another holiday last week? Huhhh, Chinese national holidays is coming up, another one week waiting. :(

Yes, my fiancé called Dos hotline, and it said GUZ IV has our P3, no idea what that mean. In system? Processed already? Or just received it? He Will call again to see how it goes.

  7. I submit my P3 on Sep10th and EMS tracking status shown that GZ consulate received it on Sep 12th. It has been 2 weeks, but still no P4.

My fiancé has been calling DOS, and was told there is no my P3 information in the system? Why is that? Wrote five or six email inquiry, all of replies were so lame. Either hasn't received it or hasn't processed. :(

Usually how long it takes to receive P4 after submission of P3? I saw some ppl get it in a week?!

  8. Operator has also been through the GUZ . His advice is great, and based on personal experience.

Operator: Xie xie for your help when we were running the GUZ gauntlet.

Thank you guys. My fiancé told me our application has been scanned to the system. And a reply from GZ embassy said that they will issue packet 3 after receive the physical application.

However, I will proceed to submit my P3 anyways on next Wednesday. A&B, I saw your post, you mentioned that consular had "open" your casefile. Did u mean the elecrtonic file? Can I call DOS or email GZ consular to request using electronic file?

It is really discouraging, but good to have you guys help us out. Thank you all.

  9. Thank you soooo much, it is really helpful. We will find out if our case is also using SAFEFILE process, then I can prepare for the next step regardless of the paper file physically arrived. yay... Feel much better.

    Sounds eerily familiar.

Take a look at this thread: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/363825-nvc-to-guz-transit-time/

Darnell mentions the GUZ consulate's "optional" use of the electronic SAFEFILE, in lieu of the paper file. Thankfully, the GUZ consulate used the SAFEFILE for our paperwork. Our paper file cleared Chinese customs a week or two after our visa was approved. Read some prior threads to see if that is what you are also experiencing, and some work-arounds.

I hope that it gets resolved soon. Good luck.

  10. We are informed that our package has been shipped on Aug 31, and we check DHL website that our application has stuck at GZ port for five business days. I called DHL customer service today to ask what is going on. The replied that since it is immigrant package, an "customs form" issued by GZ embassy is required in order to release our applications. And a DHL courier had informed gz consular about the arrival of the package. However, seems GZ consular hasn't done anything but just waiting. He suggested me to contact GZ consular to remind them about the "customs form".

I never heard of this, does anyone know what is going on?

And what should I do? Or just wait?

  11. VISA APPROVED!

After 257 days from NOA2 (including the 30+ maddening days lost because of "storage NOA2 facility mishap", we are approved for K1 Visa!

I wish to send so much thanks to all the helpful experts on this site, especically the China specific helpers such as Darnell, Big Dog, Ryan H, A&B, Pushbrk and others!

I will tell a little of our experience that really shows how this site is so beneficial in getting that Visa approved right now, and also more later in my review. My sweetie, Ying, is a very social and instantly likeable and approachable person. So I am not surprised that while standing in line outside the Consulate both days, we made friends with those that we talked to standing next to us in line, while she was waiting to go inside. What I can say is, of the five couples, including us, that we got to know a little during these two days, only two (us and one other) got the Visa approval. The others, while they will hopefully get their issues resoved, and get their Visas eventually, got "blue papers" because something wasn't done to satisfaction. We were the only ones of this group of five couples that used the Visa Journey website for help. One woman, who was already married, her husband did not do the I-134 form, so "blue paper." Another, while her Fiance sent her the I-134 last minute, only had it electronically on her computer, and with no supporting Docs, so "blue paper". Another, her Fiance only included a few e-mails as supporting evidence and apparently did not "front load" the initial I-129F very well, evidently, so "blue paper". Ying's interview lasted 5 to 7 minutes, the Visa Officer woman she got liked her instantly (of course!), and didn't even ask her questions to "grill her real knowledge" base of me. She complemented Ying on her english being very good, and Ying complemented the woman on her Chinese being very good, which gave the woman a big smile. They talked a little chit-chat, and when the woman got through typing whatever she had to type into the computer about our case, she turned to Ying and said "OK, congratulations, your Visa is approved, and you will get it in about two weeks". Ying, who had of course taken way too much evidence "stuff" into the interview, said, "but you don't want to see anything i have here?" (almost dissapointed), she showed my passport with the letter from me to the Visa officer folded insdide. The woman said, "Oh, so he is here, I thought so", but I don't need to see this."

This is what faithfully following the advice on Visa Journey results in!

Thanks again so much to everyone on this site for advice and support!

I will post a review shortly.

Congrat!!! OMG, I am so happy for you guys. In the meantime, I am nervous about my application and interview as well. Checked my package on DHL website, ours have been on hold in GZ port for three days. No idea how long is gonna take. GZ consular is just one mile from where I live. Would rather go pick up from GZ port and hand-diver to GZ embassy by myself. lol

  12. Boo...they don't have ours!!! They asked if it says on the NOA2 that it would be forwarded to the NVC...it actually says "The above petition has been approved, and forwarded to the listed consulate." Is that what yours says?? Is there a chance it could go straight to London???

Dont think they will be directly sent. All petitions goto the NVC, they enter it in their system before they kick it off to the consulate
