  1. We received our mailed on NOA2 on 8/24 and Packet 3 was received by the Embassy on 10/2. I contacted them on 10/31 for an update and below is the response I received:

    -----

    Dear Sir/Madam,

    Thank you for your inquiry.

We have not scheduled the beneficiary for an interview. Please note again that we received the beneficiary's completed DS-230 Part I on October 2, 2012 and our office will schedule an appointment in approximately 2-3 months. You may contact us at the end of each month for further information about the appointment date.

    Best regards,

    Visa Information Unit

    U.S. Consulate General in HCMC

    ------

I will continue to contact them at the end of each month for an update. I have read the experiences of others and it appears itinterviews are taking 8 weeks to schedule once all paperwork is complete.

I think it is taking more than 8 weeks now. The consulate received our completed part I on Sept 17th.

  2. Did you reach out to embassy yet?? what did they say?? but sometimes for some different Embassy it takes a long time to get interview date too..

yes I did they replied this

"As of today, we have not scheduled an appointment for your case. You may contact us later for further information about the appointment date."

  3. I am in the exact same situation as you are. I decided not to give the money to Attorneys to challenge the back child support and give to my ex instead (hopefully it will go to my children). From what I have searched so far this question only comes up if our income minus (debt we owe + child support monthly payment) is greater than the income requirement. The CO can't use child support arrear to deny visa to our fiancée but having know that I am still nervous and worry.

Another piece of info your exiting passport will be revoked if you apply for any type of passport service such as: renew, addition page to a passport; otherwise, your existing passport is still good.

  4. I hope any members here can shed some lights for me. I owe child support arrear (the issue which led to this arrear is fairly complex and no I am not a deadbeat dad) and I am making payment every month toward that arrear. My question is will that child support arrear prevent my fiancée from getting the visa to come to the US? My case is currently in the consulate await for the interview date.

  5. I have been waiting for 2 months now, count from the date I returned p3, and still no interview date yet. I wonder if other people here in the same situation. My case was going so fast then suddenly it came to a stall. I wonder if the election had anything to do with that.

Over 2 months and still no interview date. Should I start worry?

  6. I am going through divorce now and it will be finalized in January 2013 but I've already met a lady in Africa that i want to marry and i told her i am coming in December( i already have my tickets) this year so that we can go to court to register our marriage. Now my problem is will be a problem if i file with my new marriage certificate with the USCIS since the date of my new marriage will be before my final divorce decree? Please someone help me

You can't marry if you haven't divorce yet; however, the fastest way is to get a BIFURCATION from the court. Bifurcation restores your single status and allows you to marry while you are disputing with your ex-wife.

  7. our I130 package have been approved, and head to National Visa Center. The question is can we delay the process? because my wife is pregnant for 3 and half months, and wants to give birth to our son in Vietnam before head over US. It this possible to delay the process for another 6 to 8 months?

I think you just need to continue the process. There will be delay regardless your wife wants it or not but I think that delay is shorter than starting over. Embassy will want your wife to stay and give birth in VN. DNA test will be needed to verify the child is yours.

  8. Hi all,

I just found out that there is a hold on my passport due to the arrear to child support from previous marriage (which I am current making payment however because the arrear amount is greater than the requirement so the department of child support put a hold on my passport) and I have few questions hopefully members here can shed some lights for me

    1) We already got NOA2 approval, our case is in consulate and waiting for interview date. Would this passport-hold cause any issue?

    2) I would like to travel to my fiancee's country on the date of her interview. Can I still travel there and come back? Since my passport is stive active/valid for another 5 years.

    Please help.

    Thanks.

Thanks for answers but do you know whether it has any impact on my k1 case?

  10. Here is the email to US Consulate from a member of vietditru.

    Dear Sir/Madam,

    Thank you for your inquiry.

Please note that the beneficiary is not required to submit the Police Certificate number 2 if he/she already submitted Police Certificate number 1 to NVC per NVC’s instruction.

If you have further inquiries, please DO NOT reply to this email but submit your inquiry again to: http://hochiminh.usconsulate.gov/contac ... iries.html. We WILL NOT respond to any inquiry sent directly to this email address.

    Best regards,

    Visa Information Team

    U.S. Consulate General in HCMC

    Hope it helps.

This is what I get from US Consulate

As soon as an appointment has been set, our office will send out notification by mail known as the Appointment Letter. The Appointment Letter will give clear instructions regarding required documents, including the Justice Record Check. We would advise that you wait until receiving the Appointment Letter from our office to prepare documents. Otherwise, if you want to obtain the Justice Record Check in advance, you may wish to apply for the Justice Record Check #2 instead.

If you have further inquiries, please DO NOT reply to this email but submit your inquiry to:

We WILL NOT respond to any inquiry sent directly to this email address.

  11. Here is the news on the website of US Consulate in HCMC. Look at the right side of the page. They require form #2 instead of form #1. Affect on 11/1/2012.

    http://hochiminh.usconsulate.gov/immigrant-visas.html

Does this mean if we haven't had an interview yet we have to submit #2 or it bases on the approval date of NOA 2? My NOA 2 was approved in August 16th and still haven't received interview date yet. Very worry and anxious :-(

  12. I did not realize the K-1 was a "single use only" Only received NOA2 on Sept 18th and she already has packet from GUZ embassy received today. I was thinking there was a fee I need to pay NVC or GUZ before they would send packets to Beneficiary. I need to go back and look because they would accept this payment by ACH transfer from my checking account. I have only paid Vermont thru Texas lockbox no other funds have been sent to UCSIS, NVC or GUZ. I think she is under impression she can get VISA and then just go back and forth to China. Also another question: If she does get to US and I do not marry her in 90 day period does this also not void the K-1? Thanks for helpful information

If you don't marry her in 90 days she will be deported out of the U.S and she will not get any GC. I think at this point you explain that to her and tell her "Good luck"

  13. Our interview scheduled at 9:30, we got there at 8:30 and left the embassy at 11:15. Interview took about 10 minutes. It was pretty easy question, nothing personal like one of the member that posted here. We saw a lot of blue that got handout. One yung couple was toghether and they got blue, I wasn't sure why. I will post a detail review later.

    Please do share with us.
