  1. Hello to all,

Matthew and I are in the final stages of the visa process now. We received our NOA2 on July 18 and had the packet three e-mail sent to us on July 31. We sent it to the consulate on Aug 14 after we recieved the police certificate and all of our papers were completed etc.

WE just received packet 4 and the interview date today for October 2 which is six weeks away. After looking at the people in a similar time frame with us we were hoping for a sooner date because others have seemed to be getting their interview about a week or two after sending out packet 3.

We are disappointed to say the least. We had started to plan our wedding date for Oct 14 and at this point it does not look like that will be possible.

Does anyone know if e-mailing them and asking to be moved up help at all? Does anyone know for what reasons that they may bring the date up? We know it is situational and are just looking for some guidance with this before we send them an e-mail asking to be moved up

    Thanks again

  2. Hello to all

We are filling out the I-134. In regards to question 7 about employment. I have two jobs and there is only space to put the information down for one. Can I put "see attachment" so that I have enough room to list both or should I complete two I-134 forms? What should I do?

The amount I earn per week varies slightly. So what we have done in taken my total year to date earnings, divided it by weeks worked so far this year and multiplied it by 52. Is this the amount I should put in the line where it asked for my "derived annual income" ? Or would it be best to put "see attachment" again and show them how we have calculated this out?

Matthew has recently moved and so the address given in the original I-129f packet is not correct. Regarding the packet 3 do we get notice just by e-mail or does anything go out to the physical address?

Just trying to make sure we have everything done correctly.

    Thanks again

  3. Just to clarify we have received NOA2 and the NVC has sent the package to Sydney already.

We have not received the packet 3 e-mail yet but we would like to get my portion, the petitioner, of packet 3 sent over asap.

We are unsure what originals and what copies are needed to be sent to Sydney with the complete I-129f packet as well as the I-134.

Does anyone that has gone through this Embassy know what packet 3 requires as originals and what need to be copies? i.e. birth certificate, passport, divorce decree, tax forms, pay slips etc?

    Hoping for a quick response.

    Thanks again!

  4. Hello again to all

I am getting ready to send out the I-129f packet as well as everything needed for the I-134 information to Matthew. As we are looking through everything we are still unsure of what originals and what copies are needed.

I have all originals of birth cert., passport, divorce decree, bank statements, tax forms, letters from employers, pay slips, is there anything that I am missing?

Do my birth cert. and passport have to be the originals? If so when does he get them back? Will they be given back at the time of his interview or mailed to him with his after the interview ?

    Thanks again

  5. Hello Everyone,

Matthew and I are getting all of our information and paper work together for me to send him so he will have it ready to go for when the interview at the embassy comes around. I have a question about the I-134 form

For question 8 it says to list all children etc and if they are wholly or patially dependent upon you. I have 3 children. Only one of which resides with me and that I claim on my tax forms. But according to the threshold I have to list all three of them since they are under the age of 18 regardless of who they live with and could at any time become my sole responsibility. So since only one resides with me full time and the other two I have a day or two through the week how should I list them under question 8 ?

    Thank you in advance

Congrats to all of the February filers that have gotten their NOA2 and for those who have not yet it will be your time very soon !

  6. Matthew and I received our NOA2 at 11:30pm on July 18, 2012. We are so very happy! We know there are still many steps to complete in Our Timeless Journey but this is truly a day for celebration! We were actually on Skype together when the e-mail came through and I tell you what we were both speechless. Good luck to those still waiting your time is soon. Stay strong all of you February filers !

  7. Hello Everyone

We are now approaching our 4 month mark and are getting things ready for when NOA2 arrives. We are having a bit of trouble getting the proper info for the police check. We have been told to go in and fill out the forms at the NSW police department as well as submit it on line. We have also been told that we need to contact the Federal Police which there seems to be no way of contacting them through the site where we have been also shown to go and fill out the on line form. We just need to know exactly where to go and what forms need to be filled out so that we have it done properly and hopefully before we get NOA2 because it seems we have heard that it can take up to six weeks to get.

Also if there is anyone who is going through Embassy stage at the moment could give us a rough estimate of the time between NOA2, NVC and Embassy getting it processed and the interview scheduled we would like to know the approximate timing of that as well. We have heard that the Embassy has been moving a little slower than normal and were wondering if they were all caught up or still lagging a bit.

    Thanks

  8. After reading Athena's thread regarding Police Check in NSW and some of the issues she is having I am thinking of getting quite a head start on applying for one. My NOA2 most likely wont be for about 3 months at the very least. But I do want to have everything as ready as possible so there are no hold ups through the embassy stage.

Does anyone know how long the police check is valid for and if you need it for the AOS process or is it just for the consulate interview in Aus?

If I ordered it now, would they make me order another one if its a couple of months before I submit packet 3?

In NSW do they have the option of having it sent to you, or does it have to be sent to the Consulate direct? I just dont want to order it before getting NOA2 and having it just float around the consulate...who know where it would end up!

    Thanks everyone

  9. Ok Everyone we have figured out that I do not make enough money to be above the threshold. I am a Hairdresser thet works on commission. I have done so for the past 12 years in the same salon and my yearly earnings are quite similar from years past. I am not sure if being on commission comes into effect at all. Here is what we know so far and the questions we have that will help us determine our next course of action.

    1. Last year I made $27,500. I am about $5k below the threshold for a family of 5 so I am putting in applications for a second job.

    2. How does getting a second job effect this? I may not get on right away which may mean I will not make over that threshold in this year for total earnings.

    3. So does USCIS consider a year from Jan 1 to Dec 31 or how does this work?

    4. Will it be based on when we apply in the sense that even though I may not make that $33k this year that from holding two jobs over the next year will put me above the threshold. Say instead of Jan 1 to Dec 31 would they look at Mar 2012 to Mar 2013 a year?

    5. If I were to clean for someone independently and they pay me $150 per week by check would this be considered income? How could I show it?

    6. If I were to take a serving job would I then claim all tips since servers here make about $3 per hour and rely mainly on their tips?

    7. How far in advance would I need to show proof that I am working two jobs to be above the threshold?

    8. If I do not have a second job by the time we get our NOA2 and we use a co-sponsor then but I find a second job between then and filing for our AOS will we still need to use a co-sponsor?

If we have missed anything that you can offer any further advise on in any way please to do hesitate to reply. There may be more questions that need answers that we may have missed that will come from these after they are answered.

    Thank you everyone

  10. Thank you all for your replies thus far. Although I am finding I have even further questions.

I am unclear if we will be considered 3 or 5 being that I only claim one on my taxes. If it is 3 we will be fine if not we will need a co-sponsor because I am just below the 125% threshold.

We were unsure of the guidelines before and did not factor that in to our original I-129F packet. Should that have been submitted then or do we only need it when we submit the I134 form ? Will we need an I-134 form from the co-sponsor as well as mine?

What if any legal obligations does a co-sponsor have?

Will this affect our application as of now or will we need to have it for package 3?

Will we get an RFE over this since we did not include this in our original I-129F packet?

  11. WE just submitted our forms for the K-1 visa. We have noticed I am close to the poverty guidelines in terms of the amount of people we will have in household. I am divorced with 3 children. I have custody of one. Does any one know what the guidelines are and if it is for all 3 of my children or just the one that is living with me and I claim on my income taxes. Also are the numbers before taxes or after taxes. Gross vs net ? Please we need any ones advise on this.

    Thank you in advance

  12. Hi everyone, just have a couple of questions regarding application processing times that perhaps some senior VJ members could help answer. I do know that each case is indivudal and processing time largely depends on which officer is handling each application.

    1. do VSC and CSC typically process applications quicker over the late winter/Spring months as opposed to other times of the year?

    2. I have seen it mentioned there is an influx of applications over the Summer months, then they clear this backlog over winter leaving Spring applications to be processed quicker. What are people's opinions on this?

    3. Does anyone know of any links to past statistical data that may shed some light on this?

    Thanks in advance :)

  13. I want to thank all who have helped me with the skype chat logs. I have one more question to ask as we are sending out our packet tomorrow. Yeah!! The logs only show what we have typed , not any of the call durations. We use the free chat. Is there any way of viewing and downloading that as well?

  14. Hello again,

I just wanted to say that we are thankful for this site. As we are new here and just beginning our journey we have still so much to do. I am having issues with trying to download our Skype log. I did copy and paste it into a word document but I don't know if that will suffice. I also tried to use a a program that I saw from another post and have been unsuccessful in doing so. I am not the best when it comes to computers and was wondering if anyone could give me some added advice. I am willing to call or Skype anyone that might be able to help me.

    Thank you in advance

  15. Hello Everyone

I am new here and I posted a bit earlier with a couple of questions in regards to the I-129f. My fiance and I are finishing up our initial packet to send in to USCIS and I had asked about a marriage certificate for legal name change to accompany my divorce decree.

    2. on the G-325A form there is a section about last occupation abroad but he has only worked in Australia. What should he put there?

    3. He may not be able to get his vaccination records. We have heard about a blood test. What is the name of it and can any General Practitioner give it? that way when it is time to see the panel physician he will know.

  16. Hello Everyone

My finace and I are preparing the last of our paperwork to be filled and we have a couple of Questions we can not seem to find the answers to. The first one is that I am divorced and I am not certain if I need to include a copy of my marriage licence to go with the divorce decree to prove name changes. And the second one is that on the G-325A form there is a line regarding last occupation abroad if not shown above, He has never worked in any other country than his birth one which is Australia. If anything what should we put in that line ?

Thanks to anyone who may know the answers to our question.
