  1. My attorney filed I-751 for us last May. However, NOA (one year extension paper) was only sent to him, not me. I am still waiting for my case decision. Now my attorney got promoted to become a judge, and he recommended me another lawyer for further management of my case. The new lawyer whom I have not decided whether I should hire or not said it is better to file a new G28 form (attorney form if an attorney is hired) to notify USCIS about the change of attorney, since if USCIS send RFE or interview notice to my old lawyer (just like NOA notice), then both he and I will not be able to receive it. My concerns are:

    1) will this cause processing delay? since I know that change of address will cause processing delay, so I assume change of attorney may also do the same.

    2) For those who received RFE or interview notice, did your online status also change before or after you received the notice? (because if so, I can just check online status every day to make sure such notice will not be missed)

Thank you very much for your input.

  2. My local office is Newark,NJ one person who filed in june and his local office Newark he got approval letter today :( im getting nervous !!! Im waiting on my GC 276 days already, what is going on there :((( ???

Dont worry that much. When its the time, it will come. Not all cases are sent to local offices, from my understanding, some cases are sent to local offices for interview purpose, some are sent to help relieve VSC workload. so do not panic. everybody's case is different, we really dont know how USCIS works (i believe the real protocol of processing cases is different from what we think, should be more standarized and complicated). I called USCIS and they told me my case is still in VSC. so have to wait, no other choice.

  3. I don't think that the USCIS is involved in racial profiling. I agree that they may take longer to process cases from certain countries. With a certain number of countries vying to bring America to its knees, I am sure USCIS officials will take more interest in cases from certain countries. Take for example, during the cold war days, how did you think USCIS handled cases from certain countries? After 9/11, how do you think they handled cases from certain countries? For the safety of you and me, would you say they are wrong? I remember sometime ago, someone from my country attempted something at JFK Airport. Homeland Security was involved, and did their job. Do you think I would want to sit in the same plane with a member of that group, even though they are from my country? Oh no! I agree that the USCIS take even longer to process cases from certain countries, but I believe that it is for the benefit of us all potential citizens. I understand your frustrations, but just take it one day at a time. If you know that your marriage was legitimate, then it is a matter of time. However, if you know that you have lived the last 2+ years of marriage as an immgration fraud, then that's a different story. When you call them, assume that the agent who answers your call got the highest score in reading at school. It is the level 2 agent that will give you actual information. I hope for a speedy approval for the April fliers in waiting.

Great point! I definitely agree with you about security is No.1 and should always be put in the top priority. Also, no doubt that legitimate marriage should not worry about the waiting. It is just a matter of time. The only issue is the wait without any certainty about when this can come to an end. People have different personalities. Some may not take this as a big deal, but others may. Anyway, hope all the leftovers (lol) of april and may filers get good news soon.

  4. Nope. No explanation, no reason, nothing.

When I called last week all the information THEY had was what they had on their case status website: Application received, in JUNE. They don't even have the bio, RFE and relocation updates in their system! I had to tell them every single one and the rep says he has sent a SR to the local office (LA), which he promised me that I'll hear from them with in 14 days.

Also from what you told me I think they have people with the mentality of juvenile working there. Lies, conspiracies, anything that'll scare you sh*t less are in their arsenal of excuses. Since they have the "I am the one whom decides your fate so kiss my @$$" and authoritative figure that's been abused way too many times, it'll just be nothing but trolling.

All we can do is just sit and get mentally tortured.

It IS a torture. Paranoia, anxiety, even depression all start to develop during this journey. One day when we become citizen, we should all support the revolution of current immigration law. Too much BS.

But what we can do now is just wait, wait and wait. It is a game. I am also planning to apply for citizenship if my I-751 is still pending by the end of May, hopefully that can force them to close my I751 case.

    Oh, Lord.

  5. I'm going to be bashed for saying this by anti-conspiracy ppl but that is nothing but an excuse to delay, delay and delay.

They just want to Eff with us.

It is pathetic! Things like this happen in this country.

The weird thing is when I called back again. Another officer said whatever the previous agent told me was wrong since there is no such information in their system and he said it was over-exaggerated. I dont know who to believe. This time he asked me to wait for 30 days. So I am gonna just wait till the end of this month and call them back again.

    Shame!

I'm going to be bashed for saying this by anti-conspiracy ppl but that is nothing but an excuse to delay, delay and delay.

They just want to Eff with us.

Do you know any specific reason(s) that caused the delay in your case?

  6. I filed in late May to Vermont center, no news at all. Today I called USCIS again and was told my FBI security check is still not clear yet. They told me to wait for another 45 days, if still no news, call them back and open a SR for me. But we all know that FBI security check can take forever, sometimes they simply leave some cases completely in the darkness. I am very concerned about this situation. Anyone has some good idea? Thank you very much.

  7. I had today another infopass appointment, I ask IO about my case she said 99.9% of all i-751 application required second interview.

According to 2 databases on this site and another, this is not true, how they dont know all regulations about their processing??? And she said my case didnt reviewed yet.

This is driving me nuts :((( In the middle of march Im going to file N400, and will go to interview with my wife, hope it will help, and will get my approval in same day.

Sigh! It is frustrating! I called USCIS today again and talked with level 2 officer, and was told my FBI security check has not clear yet. The last update in their system about FBI security check was at the end of December. And they can do nothing about it. But they also told me that this delay will not affect the process like RFE or interview, and they just simply cannt make a decision before FBI security is clear, even if after RFE or interview is done. In addition, I was told to wait for another 45 days, till out of processing time, then they can open a service request for me. It is frustrating! I guess I have a bad luck this year.

  8. Interesting how many people wasnt approved from may2011 ??? I mean if all the people updated their status.

Seems many May filers have not been approved, combining database here and trackitt.com.

But the thing is if very few June filers are approved, then it means the process is normal. However, many June filers have been approved so far, so it raises some concern that there is something wrong with our documents? like it is left somewhere they will not reach? they lose our documents? they have doubt about our applications? They play psychological games with us? or what else? Really confusing.

  9. im usually a very patient guy but VSC is driving me nuts. Called them again today and heard the same msg again........ :bonk:

Lol, we are in the same boat. I also called them today and was told the same thing. No call USCIS anymore, will PATIENTLY wait for 20 days and see what will happen. I have a strong feeling that they deliberately delay some cases, esp. cases from countries with high number of immigrants, so they can control the diversity.

  10. I had infopass appointment today at local USCIS office, they said everything is ok, your case is under normal time of processing, I asked them to put stamp in my passport since I have to go abroad, IO took my passport stamp it i was happy with my stamp, I gave my stamp to my employer and he found mistake in the stamp it was issued Feb,13 2012 and valid Feb,12 2012 instead 2013 :(((( I have to go back to USCIS office tomorrow and ask them to fix this issue.

No words for USCIS people. Just a joke!

I am glad that you got your stamp! Hopefully we will all get our approval letter soon. Btw, is your case transferred to the local office?

  11. I thought the same too. I asked if I should make an InfoPass to my local office, the Level 2 CS rep says "No don't bother with it".

Honestly if they want an interview (with most of the "relocated" cases) they'd have the date set already. I mean come on it's been 4 MONTHS! Either they are offloading or just Effing with me.

If it's a game they want to play then I'm all game. Just don't hate the players, hate the game instead.

Sometimes I wonder if they troll applicants on purpose...

Well said, it is a game! I think the same. They probably just leave some applications aside and after one year or longer, they think these people will divorce so they can deny the case. What a jerk!

  12. Here's the irony... the level 2 CS rep told me don't even bother to make a InfoPass. It'll be another 45 (14+30) period as they simply don't have enough ppl to deal with all of it.

I was decided to wait on the N-400 but after this non-sense BS and prolonged wait, I'm just going to get it over with, instead of yanking my hair out and chewing my nails on a daily basis.

I totally understand and I am in the same boat! What I thought was since your case is already in your local office, its probably worth asking them for further information by talking with a real person. Waiting is really annoying.

  13. I did, because I'm 45 days away from my qualified N-400 filing date.

I called them last Wednesday for a SR, promised me I'll hear from my local office (since mine was "relocated" 4 MONTHS AGO) within 14 business days. According to some whom gone through the same, I'll get a letter promise for another update about my case within 30 days.

If none of those are kept, I'm filing my N-400.

Again those whom had it easy or think USCIS is "efficient", you have NO idea what we have to go through. By the time paranoia, frustration, panic, even schizophrenia and depression sets in from this mental torture, then you'll think TWICE.

completely agree! I hope you can hear good news soon! If you have time, I suggest you make an Infopass appointment with your local office to talk with somebody in person since your case has already been relocated to the local office (mine is still in Vermont). The last thing is file N-400 to force them to make a decision on your I-751 case. I am not considering getting citizenship anytime soon (GC is enough for me to travel to China to see my parents), but I may have to do it if I dont hear anything from USCIS by 90 days prior to N-400 filing date. Keep my fingers crossed!

  14. I had to throw more than a grand for airfare into the toilet for not complete my ROC in 6 months as PROMISED and waiting on responses which they never even bothered to send.

Now my in-laws are upset that my wife gone back to visit BY HERSELF.

Sometimes I really just want to ask USCIS "WT**** is going on".

Totally! Low to zero efficiency! They sometimes lose people's documents and ask for RFE, as if it were applicants' fault. A bunch of ****. After this is done, I am not gonna deal with USCIS anymore.

    Did you contact them?
