  1. I checked my case status this morning and it said that they ordered the production of my greencard on July 6. Then tonight I checked my e-mail and I have an e-mail from USCIS saying they sent me a notice today indicating whether my application is approved or denied. I checked my status and from card/document production it went back to decision. Can anyone explain this to me please...I'm so confused...I didn't have an interview

  2. When my husband (then fiance) first went to the Philippines he brought all the paperwork that we needed to send for the I-129F petition. We reviewed and signed them together. Maybe you can just download the forms in your laptop and you guys can fill it out together and just print them at the business center of your hotel. You may want to bring a copy of your birth certificate and 2 previous tax forms and w2's so you don't have to worry about sending them for her interview. If you bought an engagement ring you can also bring the receipt. They didn't ask for the receipt of my engagement ring but there are some strict CO's who might ask for it. If you were previously married, bring a copy of your divorce decree. We took a lot of pictures and saved restaurant and hotel receipts. Just prepare everything on the VJ checklist. :)

  3. For those Filipinos who had divorces and annulments, guess God was never at the center of their relationships.

I never said that. I was talking about my marriage and my beliefs. :)

My advice for the OP is on the 2nd paragraph of my previous comment.

And my husband did not ask neither talk about prenup. If ever he did, I would listen to him but I would stick with my beliefs. That's why I'm happy that we have the same beliefs, we know each other very much, and our marriage has a strong foundation. :)

  4. I'm happy that my husband did not ask for a pre-nup agreement because if he did, I would not marry him. I don't have to prove my love for him by signing a pre-nup. And why would I marry a guy who is already think that it's possible that our marriage won't last a lifetime? The reason for marrying someone is to spend the rest of your life with the person you love. I only hear pre-nups when celebrities are getting married.

I understand that sometimes, it's hard to trust people like us coz they think that we just want the greencard or money. In my opinion, she was hurt coz she loves you. But like I said, it's hard to trust someone that you don't know that much. Explain everything to her and give her time to think and respect her decision about the matter. And give yourselves more time to know each other better before getting married

I'm so happy that Christ is the center of our relationship, that me and my husband vowed to love each other as Christ loved the church, that we saved ourselves just for each other...That's very special. :) Love is a commitment. If you love someone, you will choose to love him/her everyday, you will trust him/her, you will always forgive him/her for every wrong decision, you will accept him/her as a whole.

  5. That's not true. I'm in Indiana(valparaiso) and it took them 3 days from when I applied to having ssn in mailbox at my house. In maiden name, that is. And that's including fixing my misspelled name since they misspelled my last name in the SAVE database(it was correct on the I94).

Yes, they can. However they need to look up your maiden name and match it to your married name. Apparently, too much work for a SSA employee. And it is possible. Again - I did it without a single problem. If there are any issues for anyone, smile :), withdraw your application and try at a different SSA. As long as you're inside the 90 days of arriving in the US. Usually, they won't accept your application if there's less than 14 days left on your I94.

Ok, I will tell the SSA office in South Bend that they lied to me and ask to reimburse the gas that we spent driving 2 hours on each travel going there. LOL

  6. That's what they told me when I first went to ssa in South Bend, IN but I went back when I got my ead and they accepted it. They can't give you an ssn with your married name coz your name in their system is still your maiden name. But when you apply for AOS, dhs will change your name in the system but you need to show an ID. You can go back when you get your ead. I'm still waiting for my ssn card.

  7. I think NBI will just rely on the identification card that your fiance will present to them. If her name is misspelled on her identification cards, I don't know if they will change it. Your fiance should go to a lawyer have get a notarized affidavit that her name was misspelled and bring it to NSO office to have her birth certificate corrected. This is just my opinion; wait for other responses. :)

  8. I received my noa1 5 days after filing. But here's what's written on their site:

During the acceptance step USCIS reviews newly received applications and petitions to ensure that they are properly filed (i.e. signed by the applicant, appropriate fees, etc.) USCIS issues a receipt number for the application or petition, and sends a receipt notice to the applicant or petitioner.

Applications and petitions that are not properly filed are rejected with an explanation of why the application is rejected and the corrective action needed. Rejected applications or petitions do not retain their filing date.

The acceptance step is typically completed within 2 business days of when the application is received. With mail time it may take several weeks for you to get the receipt or rejection notice in the mail. If you do not receive your notice within 30 days of mailing your application, please contact our national customer service center at 1-800-375-5283.

  9. There are no vaccination records to translate. We sent in the DS-3025 from Bumrungrad Hospital in Bangkok that was completed in English. She had her exam in August 2012. She got the Td and MMR vaccinations and the form indicates she had chicken pox "VH". Will she need additional vaccinations and accordingly, will this lead to a RFE? Thanks.

Some only sent DS 3025 and did not receive an RFE but I didn't want to take that chance. If ever you get an RFE just see a civil surgeon, show your vaccination records and he/she will tell you if you need more shots. If you don't, he/she will just sign the 1st page of I-693 and seal it in an envelope. Do that IMMEDIATELY if ever you will receive an RFE.

  10. I went to a civil surgeon today. He evaluated my vaccination records and did not require me any other vaccinations. He signed the 1st page of I-693, sealed it in an envelope and he did it for me for free!

When we set up an appointment, I was told to prepare $25 but since I just needed his signature, he didn't charge me anything.

My DS-3025 says, Vaccine history incomplete; applicant may be eligible for blanket waiver(s) because vaccination(s) not medically appropriate.

Read I-693 instructions. She is not required to undergo another medical examination. Just have her vaccination records evaluated/transcribed.

  11. When I called I just asked if my visa was already forwarded to 2go Mall of Asia (that's the courier service). She said they still have my passport and still reviewing my case and added that after they're done reviewing it I will receive a text message from them. I asked her how long should I wait, she said it's a case-to-case basis.

  12. Our interview was Wed 15th. I called today and was told its still at the embassy, visa processing. They are just taking their sweet time finishing up the visa. Remember, the government doesnt care about us.

Kindly inform me when you get your visa. Hope nasa processing lang din yung sa akin at nagkamali lang yung agent. Naiiyak na ako sa sobrang inis sa USEm tapos may nagcomment pa dito na sa halip na mag-advise dinidikdik pa yung pagkakamali namin. haay...

  13. I called the US Embassy today to find out the status of my visa. The agent told me that they still have my passport and that they are still reviewing my case. I was kind of confused because the consul told me that I was approved and they did not ask for any additional documents. After my interview, I was just told to wait for a text message to pick up my visa... What to do? My fiance already booked our flight.
