Hi everyone!

So my husband and I are working together to gather all we need for my ROC. He has printed info on our joint account and has done a copy of credit cards from the two of us linked to one of his personal accounts. Question is...can we black mark numbers/edit info? Wouldn't want to have my bank account numbers and hubby's credit card number exposed like that.

Another question is about the Affidavit letters from friends or family members. I assumed we did need at least two affidavits as stated in the instructions of the form I-751 but yet I have read of some people saying they aren't important or they just make the process go slower.

Last question for now is something related with the short term future. We want to go to visit my family to Spain on July. My current GC expires in April 13th. How can I travel in case my new GC is not with me by then?

Regarding your first question, you can definitely blacken out sensitive info. The goal is just to see you both share financial information. In my situation, I did not even give them statements. I just got the bank to write me a letter, which included things like acct number, when the acct was open, signatories to the acct, and stating that the acct was in active status

Regarding your second question: An affidavit is NOT a requirement. The instruction page of the I-751 was just listing possible evidence you can show. I did not send any affidavit. However, if your evidence is "light," you should definitely consider sending the affidavit.

Regarding your last question:when u send your application, you will get a letter back that extends your green card for one yr. Using this letter and your green card, you can travel to any country or planet you want, and return to the U.S. without any hitches, for the next yr.

Sorry about your experiences with the RFE's

One thing that I think is helpful is that when you send any package to them, it is important that you add a cover letter that explains whats in your package and an explanation of anything you think they might want, but you don't have.

For example, I did not send any tax returns. However, that's because we are still students. I explained that I was in professional school, and included a letter from my department and a letter from the registrar of my university.

I can't vehemently say that helped me, but I can tell you that I got approved last week without an REFE/interview.

Meanwhile, I must add that after further consideration, I won't be applying for citizenship anytime soon. This process has been too long, and I just want to take a break from this rigorous/waiting process.

We all started this process together, and I will keep on checking this site, while hoping that everyone gets approved soon.

My green card arrived today. I also got the approval letter, which shows that the decision date was 10/15/12.

Interesting that the card came in a priority USPS mail/envelope.

I called the USCIS and got the tracking number for the card mailed. So I can exactly know what day it is delivered. You can reach out to USCIS customer service and ask for tracking number if you want.

I am about to call uscis to get my tracking number. What information do I need to give them? Just my case number?

It's right about 9 months for each of us right now. WOW. That is definitely a long time to review a 2 page (I think) application, after paying about $590. Patience is the key

Oh nice.....Ohhhhhhh NICE!!!....The "expectation dance" has just begun. Shout out to the next few weeks of checking the uscis website like an addict. Shout out to the next hundreds of times you will get a text message and pray quietly that it was a notification message from USCIS. Shout out to that euphoria you will get when you get approved, breathe a sigh of relief, and recognize that this agonizing journey is happily over.

I've been watching this forum since April. Damn! 8 months of wait is just insane. I've been having issues with my wife and she's threatening to get a lawyer. Omg! i hope something happens soon

omo, it seems thats the way it is with VSC. From the looks of it, it might be nine months because VSC is still working on Dec 2011 filers.

Wow...7 RFEs?....a little concerning. It doesn't seem like its the same guys that have been reviewing these applications all these while. Have the previous guys been moved to deal with the new Obama immigration application and replaced with new guys(newbies)?..just thinking aloud. Goodluck to all.

I vote to remove Flyer92 from the list, since he refuses to put his original appt. date like everyone else did. The standard is to notate the adjusted bio date to the side... he is messing up the stats.

Make sure u include a reason that u could not file e.g. You had been studying for a very big exam, pertinent for career. Another very good reason is that you were just now able to come up with the money needed to file [this is the preferred one that I have seen from late filers). As said above, it is at the discretion of USCIS. Just make sure you give a reason why you filed late...u should be fine!.

Our time is gradually and gradually coming. Getting excited a little. November filers already have 15 responses (12 approvals and 3RFEs) out of 36 applicants. Even though it's a 33% "approval" rate so far, overall, its a 42% "response" rate so far. I hope those who received the RFEs get speedy approvals.

Dec filers already has 2 approvals. Nice!

I expect our time to arrive speedily. Hopefully, we might see the first VSC Jan 2012 approval around the middle-end of next month. Reason for this optimism stems from the very low number of applicants in Nov and Dec, compared to the other months, especially June.

Applicants for different months: Jun (15124), July (9933), Aug (11,373), Sep (8065), Oct (9913), Nov (7263), Dec (7242)

I guess the email/text with approval notice from the website was due to the status being updated incorrectly? Because the online status has approval date as of 07/27/2012, and that was the date of RFE too that I received in the mail. So whoever was making an update to online system may have chosen the wrong status notice?

I have a partial good news for you..........I have seen this happen before.!! It happened to someone in one of the previous threads. Either Aug 2011 or Sept 2011 (cant remember). She had received an approval notice, then an RFE. The RFE asked her husband to send receipts of gifts he had bought for the USC wife's son. They called USCIS, and were advised to reply to the RFE. [note that they were initially reluctant to do so, especially since they had been told the card was on its way].

They sent the RFE package, and called USCIS 2 days later; As crazy as it may sound, the USCIS official told the couple that it was a TEST, and since USCIS had received the package with the appropriate evidence, the couple had passed the test. So "Yeah, their approval still stands." {note that USCIS reserves the right to rescind approval after approval]

Just in case your situation is the same way, I advice you to reply to the RFE ASAP!.....I wish u the best of luck.

The ROC date has been updated to September 19, 2011 for VSC filers. Funny cos 50% of October filers have been approved...lol

Hi All - I'm filing my I-751 and my petition was received 4th Oct 2011. However, the other day I got a letter saying that I need to provide additional evidence. I submitted: an appartment lease, rent bills for 2011, joint auto insurance, two affidavits, 2010 joint filing tax form and photographs of my spouse and I.

They said "The other evidence submitted lists either your name or my husbands name and does not substantiate a bona fide matiral relationship". I think they are referring to the bank account summary I gave them - the bank could only print out one name on the form - so I had two.

They go on to say "The evidence aubmitted does not establish, in sufficient detail, joint ownership of assets, joint responsibility for liabilities, and/or active commingling of finance for the duration of the marriage. Supporting documentation must cover as must of the martial period as possible and must also indicate your financial responsibility and joint residency for that same period".

So what does this mean?

Do I have to show them my bank statements - like the ones you get online? which has the account holders name and then lists the account activity? And then show the new lease for our aparment? Also, we are in the middle of closing on a house - so I would think the mortgage/loan info and the house title in both our names would help?

I would really appreciate anyones advice on this. I really don't want any more issues and just want to get on our life here

With regards to the bank statement issue, I can tell u what I did for both my ROC and AOS. I got a letter from the bank addressed to the office. Amongst other things, the letter included our account number, names of those on the account, how long the account has been opened. They also wrote on there that the account has been active for the last 3 years, and been in good status. I made sure both the letter and envelope (bank envelop) was stamped. Contact info and signature of the bank manager was also included, directing the office to contact them if they had any questions.

Congrats guys...if I tell u I did not wish that I lived in around California (to apply to CSC), I would be lying to u. Brace up VSC filers, we have about 2-3months to go. Congrats once again.

Yeah, the 800,000 new applicants kind of got me concerned a lil bit. HOWEVER, after much thought, it just hit me.........this will affect the EAD application time-frame way more than ROC applications. The unique thing about ROC application is that you can only file at VSC or CSC.....this is unlike EAD applications where you are reviewed by your local offices.

I expect the 800,000 applications to be processed by local offices around the country, depending on where the applicant lives (kinda how is done with EAD applications). Obviously, some applications will be sent to Vermont, since it will be the local office for some people. CSC might actually slow down, due to the high number of applications that will be coming from Latinos in the state of California.

Hence, ROC applicants need not fear. I really hope I am right about this.....I filed in Jan, and would really need to get this over with! Cheers, my friends~~~

Its interesting reading everyone's comment, especially with the extreme lack of empathy and insensitivity demonstrated by all. We are all brothers/sisters in the journey. The dude came with a legitimate concern and great worry, but instead of sticking to the facts of the case many are busy JUDGING HIS FAMILY??? Wow!!!.... Great job guys. Hope yall don't get RFEs.
