    Fellow Vj's,

I need your help! so USCIS sent us email saying that they send us letter for my interview on May 08, 2012.. i know its a month and 4 days before that but i want to get ready! :) i know this been asked million times but i wanna hear from you guys :)

i wanna know what will happen in that interview? i mean what will they ask? what we need to bring?

we just got married 3 months ago! we dont have joint account yet! although we are planning to do it last week of May when we go back to Oklahama.

all that i have as a proof that we have legit relationship are our marriage certificate, pictures of our wedding day, wedding rings, and my ID from US Airforce stating that iam his spouse..

pls. share your experience! thanks in advance

  2. It's completely normal. I did my biometrics on March 1 and on USCIS website it's still at the acceptance stage. I think it takes between 4-6 wks for the FBI to clear ur fingerprints and background check so by then you should get an approval letter for ur application. Good luck.

4 to 6 weeks is kinda long ! *sigh* im still hoping to get my greencard before we move.. thanks by the way! :)

  3. No you do not get a notice your biometrics was approved. The sheet you took home from biometrics is important do not lose it. Thats your proof you went to the appointment.

Now you sit and wait to find out what happens. Nothing else to be done.

what sheet do you mean? is that the appointment letter for biometric that they stamped after i got done with my fingerprinting and picture taking?

Thanks for the Responce! have a great day! :)

  4. Hey Vj's,

I just had my Biometric done last March 08, 2012 and it went really smooth and fast as i thought! iam just wondering whats next after biometric? will i get letter that biomtric been approved or what? and when i checked my status on USCIS site they never update it! the only things they say is this:

    Acceptance

On February 9, 2012, your fingerprint fee was accepted and we have mailed you a notice describing how we will process your case. Please follow any instructions on this notice. Your case is being processed at our NATIONAL BENEFITS CENTER location. You will be notified by mail when a decision is made, or if the office needs something from you. If you move while this case is pending, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address or call our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283.

Anyone knows what is happening on my case now? im kinda worried! cuz we are moving soon!

Thanks A lot Amigas and Amigos :)

  6. hello ladies and gents! here iam again  so im a k1 visa holder and filing for adjustment of status, advance parole and permit to work .. So we just found out that my husband that in USAF will be in schooling for his new job in military.. he is going to Texas this May until August.. After that he will be deploy/assign to Korea or Germany.. of course i dont wanna be alone here in the States  i heard i need to file some stuff in USCIS i think it is a RE ENTRY permit.. I just wanna know when should i get this Re entry permit? and how long it will takes? Can i just leave the Country without telling the USCIS? im freaking out now.. cuz i really dont like to be left alone here in the States while my Hubby is in another part of the world.. i hope you can give me advices with this.. especially to those experience this situation.. THANK YOU THANK YOU :help:

  7. Two paths are available depending on if they were documented as FTJ in the K1... as long as they were included in the K1, you only need to contact the Embassy letting them know that you want to start the proccess for the children. The proccess is different form one country to another. The visa must be issued within 1 year... so keep in mind that it takes time from when you let them know until they schedule the interview. We went through this and were told that sine I sent the original I797 in with her AOS that we were out of luck so we are heading down path 2..

    FTJ is far cheaper...

    Path 2: filing an I130...

to correct some misinformation provided above, once you get the 2 year GC you can travel using that greencard and can be outside of the US for up to 6 months without causing any issues with YOUR immigration status. So as soon as you get your 2 yr GC you can head back to PI and work on the FTJ...

Thank you for sharing this! so it means as long as i have my greencard i can go back to the PI even i dont have the advance parole? i have until Sept 19 before the 1 year of my visa issuance.. hopefully to get them this April or May.. depends on when they will give the decission for my Status..

  8. No

When they apply for the visas you will submit their birth certificates. Simply change the date at the time of the interview. We did that with one of our boys, I mistakenly listed my wife's birthdate for him. No big deal, we crossed it out and wrote in the correct one.

Thank You so much! it is so great to know it wont affect my kids getting in the USA..

  9. Hello dear Vj's ... i have questions again :) in my last post i was asking about my kids that will follow me here in the USA. we just filed the petition for my adjustment of status.. Anyways my concern now is my Husband had an error in putting up one of my child birthdate.. instead of may 7 2008 he wrote January 31, 2007 which my eldest son birthdate.. will it affect on me getting my kids? Please help me! Thank you in advance..

  10. DO I HAVE TO SUBMIT COPIES OF MY HUSBAND'S PASSPORT TOO TO PROVE HIS CITIZENSHIP? SHOULD I SEND PICS, PROOF OF ADDRESS, bank statements with our names on it etc, along with the i-485. what were the things u add in your package besides the forms and reciepts, and passport copies?

yes you have to submit his passport to prove his citizenship.. w2, tax and birthcertificate and employment certificate :)

  11. I just posted to another person a few seconds ago about putting a package together. I just got approved yesterday from Vermont. I followed the guidelines on VJ. My petition was about 1 months of chats. A few months at the beginning, middle and prior to filing the petition. I had 4 pictures of us together in Manila printed from Walmart. Then I made 6 Powerpoint slides with 3 picture on each page with details on what took place in the photos. I wrote on the Walmart pictures too! I sent copies of packing slips of item I sent her and the kids. I made copies of all the letter she and family sent me. A copy of the reciept of the engagement rings, phone bill showing text messages, copies of my passport, copy of her passport, copies of plane ticket/boarding, copies of hotel reciepts and any places we visited together and family picture of us together. My coverletter was the same use in the guideline. My letter of intent was similar to VJ's guideline. What I did was I made 4 copies of all docuemnts, (letter of intent, I-129, her G-235-A, and my G-235) I signed them and had her sign them too. As for the letter of intent, she signed a copy and sent back to me. I sign the letter of intent of marriage and then took it to the notary. Then I sent the notorized copy with my petition. That was basically my petition. If you don't have email that is ok! You just evidence that shows there is somekind of relationship. The lenght of time is not the real important factor. I just has to show you are together. Send messenger chats, phone bills, letters/cards to eachother just anything! I say about 20 picture that are timestamp.

if get approved it means all you have to do is to show up for interview and do your physical and *poooof* Congratulations! your visa is approved :) all they want to see in the USEM are the papers from your U.S fiance.. especially the affidavit of support and their w2 and tax .. :)

    Good Luck

so dont be so nervous :) just work on evidence that you have and be sure you know everything about your fiance :)

snail mail a.k.a post office

    goodluck girl

  13. Since they were originally on the petition and if you indicated on one of the forms that they were to follow, I think all you need to do now is call the USEM and arrange an interview. They would also need medical and paper works (157, 156, I-134, etc..) minus the Fiance application (I-156K).

This my understanding from prior post, so anyone please correct me if this is incorrect.

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE RESPONCE

  14. So, are you in the process of getting your green card so you can travel outside of the USA? My fiance has 2 kids also and we are in the early stages of the K-1 visa. I am convincing her to bring them along because I feel it is much easier from a money standpoint come all at once! I just don't want to risk the mental well-being of the mom and children being apart for so long. Airfare will be to expensive buying round trip for her or I. Well good luck!

    Michael

Yes Michael, iam in the process of getting my greencard :) we applied for aos, employment and advance parole. and i agree that it is more easier and you will save lots of money if your fiancee and kiddos will come to the USA at the same time.. cuz its really hard to be apart from them :)

    GOOD LUCK TO YOU TOO

    Lianne

Did the AOS fee increased? I thought it was 1,070?

sorry my bad :) it is $1070

  15. Hello Ladies and Gents :) i have some questions and hopefully you can help me or give me ideas :)

So iam a K1 visa Holder and currently living in Colorado Springs. i entered USA on Nov.14 2011 and tie-the-knot on Jan 17 2012.. Me and my husband are working for my Adjustment of Status.

I have my Kids left in the Philippines. they are 5 and 4 years old.. :( i miss them more than anything in this World. they are on My husband"s (Fiance that time)petition when we were applying for K1 but we chose them to follow after we get married.

    my questions are:

    * what is the first step for us to bring my boys here ? do we need to apply petition for them ?

*can we apply adjustment of status for them even they are still in the Philippines? if yes does the $1080 will cover us 3? or we need to pay seperately for them?

Thank you in advance and hope to hear from y'all..
