Hello Vj's,
its been a while, and iam here again to seek for a help
so i finally got my boys and brought in the states (K2 visa), and now we are currently here in Ramstein,Germany (we are with my husband that in the service and we flew here using SOFA CARDS).. my questionS are
1. What are the requirements for k2 adjustment of status?
2. where can i send the requirements? address of USCIS in Germany?
hope to hear from you guys and thank you
-
Your Husband need to make an appointment with s US Air Force Lawyer to get answers. I suspect he will have to legally adopt your kids in order for them to be recognized by the US Air Force as legal dependents and be entered into the DEERS System. Good Luck and GOD Bless Mr Pangga
thank you so much for the reply!!!
-
The above is incorrect, he just has to get them command sponsored. They are dependents of his due to being married to you. He has to go to the Military Personnel Flight (MPF). He will also have to get them cleared medically to go to germany with you both (and you will need a medical clearance too). You will have to file for adjustement of status for the kids before you leave. They need to adjust status so they dont drop out of the DEERS system. The adjustment of status allows them to get a SSN so they wont drop out of the DEERS system after awhile. They will need a green card or if you dont do that, you will have to reapply for them before coming back to the US.
OMG Finally!!! an answer! first thank you so much.. its really help a lot!!!! my husband talked to military personnel. they said the boys need to be in deers, and have medical with me! then give them the kids and my passports and they will send it to germany to put a special stamps.. iam not sure what called that stamps is but i think its called SOFA..
one more question please,,, can we adjust status in Germany for my kids?!? or we have to do it here in states?
THANK YOU SO MUCH
-
i asked this question and search million times but cant find the answer.. i called military hotline but they arent helpful.. my kids got approved for k2 visa. they will be here next week. my husband is AirForce, he got his orders to go Ramstein,Germany on December. right after his Graduation for this Tech. School in Goodfellow, Texas.. i have my greencard, Ap/EAD combo card.. my concerns are
1.does my kids can go with us in Germany? even they dont have greencard yet or advance parole
2. cann we apply for adjustment of status in Germany for the kids?
3.what are the requiremnts we need, if ever we can go with my husband in germany?
PLEASE help me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Ramstein counts as us soil. If you are on his orders, no need to worry. Any base counts as us territory. I don't know the situation with your kids. Sorry :/ you said your kids got approved? For what? I was assuming the GC but then you said they don't have one. maybe somebody else knows more. PS: I am from that area in Germany and I met my husband on ramstein
you'll love it. It's an amazing place and soo much to do. Plus, ramstein is the biggest base outside the US an second biggest at all. They have a BX, sooo big like you've never seen one before. Lucky you, a lot of ppl trying to get assigned to ramstein.
thanks for the reply. my kids got approved from k2 visa. and yes i heard lots of things about Ramstein.. we love to go there but we are thinking we will be best for us to stay in the states for now..

so finally after a heart dropping, stressful searching about k2 visa, i finally set an appointment for my 2 kids that left on Philippines.
i would like to share some info that i did, cuz i know how hard to look for informations regarding k2 visa..
Its all started 2 weeks ago, when i realized that my k1 visa will be one year on Sep 19,2012. so i started searching for requirements.. talked to all people i know that might have knowledge about k2.. went to us embassy site found none about what exactly k2 visa need for requirements,, i end up calling US EMBASSY in Manila (011-632-301-2000 if u are calling outside the P.I) and asked what should i do for my kids k2 visa. and the Call Center Agent asked for my manila case number and BOILA!! my kids name are there. so she told me that i have until Sep 19 2012 to apply for their k2 visa.. i wasnt contented i still kept on searching for requirements and FINALLY! I SEARCHED WHERE THE HECK K2 VISA PROCESS AND REQUIREMENTS WERE HIDING..
I READ IT AGAIN! and it says there for k2 visa u need to fax the requirements and letter to US consulate notifying them that k2 children are ready.. so i called the Embassy again and asked about the stuff i just read. and the meanie pant call center again told me that as i quote " You just called yesterday, and i already gave you the informations about k2" i was like " ho HO HO!!!! CALM DOWN! I CALLED BECAUSE I READ SOMETHING ON THE SITE THAT YOU HAVE HAD NEVER TOLD ME,MY CONCERN IS DO I NEED TO NOTIFY AND SEND THE REQUIREMENTS TO US EMBASSY BEFORE I SET AN APPOINTMENT?" SHE SAID " NOPE, U DONT HAVE TO DO IT ANYMORE SINCE YOUR CHILDREN STILL ON THE ONE YEAR OF YOUR K1 VISA" I SAID OK ARE YOU SURE? CUZ I DONT WANNA PAY THEN AT THE END THEY WILL SAY that my children arent capble for interview" she said " iam sure" and hang up
so anyway i didnt stop! i called again to finally make sure we are all good. so i asked again about that issue and they said tehy are good for medical..
so yesterday i emailed all the requirements to sister so she can print it out
-2 copy of DS 156
-1 COPY OF DS 157
-birth certificate of the child (NSO)
- AFFIDAVIT OF SUPPORT FROM PETITIONER
a.w2
b.les
c.income tax
-marriage certificate
-copy of my greencard,AP/EAD AND TO BE SURE i also send copy of my ID
-passport copy of k1 holder
-visa stamp copy of k1 holder
-i-94 copy
and if applicable copy of I-824 or action on approved notice(this i believe the NOA2 THAT YOUR PETITIONER RECEIEVED FROM NVC)
-nOA2 (LETTER THE K1 VISA RECIEVED FROM USEM STATING YOU ARE READY FOR MEDICAL AND INTERVIEW)
I ALSO send my husband (petitioner) birth certificate to prove his citizenship.. ( i didnt saw that on requirements list but i decided to send to be sure)
other requirements is; passport of the child, receipt of payment and medical.
so hopefully this topic i post will help most of our members here in Visa Journey. Good luck to us all and God speed

Is the father listed on the birth certificate? If yes, not sure of an easy answer, hopefully others who have actually dealt with this will pop in here. Talk to a lawyer?
yeah he is listed to my kids birth certificate.. OMG!!!!!!!!!!!! why did i do that thing?
but yeah as i said on other reply my kids still "ILLIGITIMATE" and in the PHilippines, theres a law that if the parents arent married the full custody is to the mother until 18 years old. i may do more research and keep y'all posted
-
We are in the same boat, i am totally sick with this requirement they need, and i dont even know where to find the father of my kids and yes i need to put his name on the birth certificate as required...Is their any option that we can do regarding this matter? i just hope DSWD has an option to give permit to travel without the sign of the father....advice is very much appreciated!!!
i just dont know why we need that requirements. i mean its really hard for us to get that especially when u really dont get along with the baby daddy.. for sure he will give me hell, there is no way he would sign that consent form..
im still hoping that maybe even a lil chance we might dont need that, i remember when i got my kids passport they only need my birthcertificate because my kids is "ILLIGITIMATE". so please iam keeping fingers cross that its teh same way
-
Is he listed on the birth certificate?

From the U.S., try: 632-301-2000 extension 5184 or 5185.
That's the phone number for the Embassy's immigrant visa unit.

hi, i just want to help you, we have the same situation, you can start making appointment for the interview and medical. you need to fill up forms like what you did with your like 156,157 etc. separately, but at this point your kids are still very young, for sure they need assistance, good thing if you can assist them during medical and interview. You will use your manila case number to book for their appointment interview..
do you know us embassy number that i can call? thank you

i dont believe it would take that long.. got my EAD/ADVANCE PAROLE COMBO CARD a month and couple days after we applied for AOS.. while i recieved my greencard a week after we passed the interview. ( the interviewer said it will take 3-6 weeks )
-
hola! i would like to say THANK YOU SO MUCH TO THIS VISA JOURNEY SITE FOR ALL THE HELP.. we just had our interview today may 08,2012 and guess what? APPROVED!! i will share my experienced and hoping it will help to all of you that is waiting for their interview date.
so our call time was 1230pm but we arrived at Immigration at 1130 am.. we went through security and after that we went at 2nd floor and showed them the interview letter.. then around 1145 am the officer called my name and asked if its fine if its kinda early and my hubby said ITS ALRIGHT
we went to her office and introduce her self.. and she had us sworn to tell the truth nothing but the truth. then we were seated and started the interview.. ( ANYWAY THE OFFICER WAS SO NICE )
The IO asked me first whats my full name and my current address, the she start asking my husband what was my birthdate and my parents name. ( i was nervous and my hubby kept telling me to calm down ) then she asked me how we met, and if i met my husband parents when and where.. then my husband and the IO started talking about military bases.. ( she was in airforce so my hubby and her talk about it to break the ice) then she started to asked me the yes or no questions..
after that she said ( as i quote) " i will approved now your application " and will send the greencard in your mail in 3 weeks "
iam so happy and relieve
and of course i thank her for approving..

Did you send I693 with your form. They already have it since you didn't get RFE for it. I think birth certificates are for kids in the present relationship. If I'm incorrect will someone please correct me.
i just sent copy of vaccination sheet when i was still applying for AOS. they didnt sent me letter saying my vaccinations was incomplete or i need more.. i remember that the Hospital in the Philippines where i had my vaccinations told us that they were the one who will send the result to US EMBASSY.. but that was for my k1 visa interview, so now iam not sure about the AOS interview weather i need this I-693
-
What does your vaccination sheet say? are they complete are they incomplete and you were told to get more vaccinations in the USA?
my vaccination sheet said it was applicant copy and stating that i had 3 vaccinations and Xray. as far as i remember after my vaccinations nurse told me as i quote " it depends on USCIS if they would like you to have more vaccinations when you enter the states"

We had our interview last Feb.8, 2012. We just brought a duplicate AOS packet of what we submitted. Even though we submitted copies of my birth certificate, marriage certificate, husband's naturalization certificate, the IO also asked to see the originals (he just glanced at it in the clearbook I brought) He asked to see both of our passports too. He even questioned why I submitted the I-693 since I already undergone a medical exam in my home country, I just said I followed instructions about the vaccination record not completed. He gave us the impression we didn't need the I-693 (good thing we only paid $15 for the transcription!). He said since we were just newlyweds, its understandable we didn't have enough documents together yet given at the time of the interview
He also made copies of my husband's driver's license & my CA ID since it shows we live at the same address. Other than that, we only had a fax letter from my husband's insurance company showing we were on the same plan. We live with his mother so we couldn't show any lease/mortgages; their family also has a cellphone plan under his mother's name so we couldn't show that either.
Don't forget to bring photos too, especially of the wedding. The IO kept 3 photos of what I brought. The only thing I remember him asking was how we met & scribbled the stuff we said on our file.
Good luck!
Thank you for the responce! its really a big help. just few questions, i have kids with my previous relationship, they said i need their birthcertificate.. i dont have it right now, i dont get it why they need it since they arent with me on this adjustment of status.. we dont have a lease contract cuz he is been living in this apartment before i arrived here. and if we ask the landlord to put my name on the lease we need to renew the contract that is very impossible to happen since we are moving in Oklahoma on May 27.. like what i have said we dont have joint bank account yet and the interview will be on may 08,2012.. his bank is in Oklahoma so we can do that bank account thing AFTER the nterview.. iam freaking out right now, iam so scared that after all this i will get denied

Tell her truthfully how you feel, it will hurt her, but isnt it better to hurt her with the truth or make her happy with a lie? You said you still love her, why not try to make an appointment for a marriage counselling. But, me as a woman, iam asking you to pleas, dont cheat on her while you guys still married.. Man up, do the right thing..
