  1. What exactly does the NOA-1 say? I only got one letter and it had the biometrics appt. on it too. It does say I-797C, Notice of Action on the top of it.

My guess is that you are talking about the receipt letters? Its just the receipt letters that come by mail. By looking at your timeline, I see that you haven't gotten the hard copies of your receipt letters. That normally comes before you receive your biometrics appointment notice. But my guess is that it should come pretty soon. No worries.

  2. I really appreciate the info, couple more questions? How did you arrive at january 17 being your 30 days from NOA date.

For me, which will be my NOA date?

    1.The email/text receipt date

2.The physical letter delivery date or

3.The acceptance date on the email/physical letter/USCIS online status {same date anyways} (which is usually an earlier date than texts, email, letter delivery date).

Cos the USCIS call center officer told me, on looking up my case number, that the NOA date is the date of acceptance as reflected on my online status

My bad on NIkkiB's info, she has a (919)******* phone number and lives( or lived) in NC, but I didnt know she interviewed in ATL. But i'm sure you'll be fine.

Actually, its 30 days from when you receive the physical letter. I received mine on the 15th of December; so 30days after was the 14h Of January. I just delayed to see if anything would come but nothing did; so I then called them. Yes NikkiB lived in Raleigh, hence the 919 number. Thanks, I'll let you know how it goes.

  3. I havenot received my biometric letter, from your timeline,

Was there any reason given why your biometrics was delayed? Did you speak to a 2nd tier officer for the SR for biometric?what did ASC make of you doing it twice? Was each appointment for both I-485 & I-765.

You should look up/contact a fellow VJer NIkkiB she had a successful interview in Raleigh last month too, may she can share some useful tips for you. Goodluck on your interview.

cool, you have dual membership for February & March AOS filers. next mission: dual citizenship.

No, they gave no reason why my biometrics was delayed. I called earlier in Jan to let them know that I had not received it yet and they said I had to wait 30days from the time I received my receipt letters. And so after 30 days when I had still received nothing, they filed a SR for me. and yes, i spoke to a 2nd tier officer who placed the SR for me.

Apparently, my biometrics was on its way when I had filed the SR. I had an early walk-in and got my biometrics done; and then about 2 days later, another one came which was due to the SR I placed. My lawyer said I should go just in case. So, I had another walk-in and I asked them if i needed to do it again. They checked their system and they had no record that I had done it!!!!!!!!!!! Glad I went. Cos it would have been a big mess! So what I think happened was that the SR biometrics cancelled the other out; because when I received my EAD card, it was the SR's picture on there not the first one. and yes, each appointment was for both I-485 and I-765

Oh NikkiB had her interview in Atlanta. I have talked to someone who had their interview in Raleigh and they gave me good hints. Thanks!

  4. OH, for evidence I gave them a couple of our bank statements, also, earlier that week i got a new bank card so i took the letter that came with that as it had our address on it. Also gave him a couple of invoices from some online purchases that I made because they were also addressed to me here. We're living with his parents while we save money so i'm not on any utility bills or anything. So that's what we gave and he seemed happy with it, kept all of what we gave him and put it in our file. He asked for some wedding photos also, we showed him 15, he kept about half of them and put in our file.

Ok. Thanks then. I already printed out our bank statements and also got the letter that came with our bank cards handy as well. We have pictures and utility bills as well. Everyone says we'll be fine. Hope we are :) Thanks again!

  5. Here's our review, http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/profile.php?id=102554

It was all pretty straight forward, we had no hassles at all. And yes, he told us while we were there that he had approved us and then gave us a piece of paper with the recommended for approval section ticked (can't remember exactly what it said, was a massive paragraph of info, lol). He also went through the ROC process with us and told us to mark it on our calendar so that we don't forget, lol.

Good luck with your interview, the only thing i didn't like was that our interview was scheduled for 11:35 so, of course, by that time of day they were a fair way behind, we didn't get seem until about 12:30.

I just read your review concerning your interview and it seemed pleasant. Hope ours is as smooth...maybe even smoother than yours. Our Interview is at 08:30am, so am hoping we would be in and out or perhaps even seen early :) However, I have to ask; what did you show for evidence of sharing address? I was thinking bank letters & statement, utility bills, life insurance etc.

  6. Our interview is March 7. As for preparation I did a joint filing of taxes today, so I guess that can be considered some kind of preparation. Other than that I've only made some copies of stuff I've already sent in, and grabbed the originals of those docs. I'm not sweating the interview questions because we're older than most people probably going through the process and our backstory is pretty believable. We've made it this far without any RFE problems, so my paperwork is probably good. If they bring up anything funky I'll inundate them with papers.

 I've gotten no RFE'S either so am guessing (HOPING) mines good as well :) Its pretty much what I have been doing: making copies, making sure I have all the originals and so on. Its next week! Seems like I just got the interview notice yesterday. How time flies.

  7. Hello all,

I filed I485 along with I131 and I765 after got married in January (K-1 visa). I received the NOA1 on Feb 2nd indicating the receiving date of Jan30. I haven't received any communication regarding my biometrics from USCIS and the case has not been updated since then. I saw that many people got their biometrics appointments in 1-2 weeks after NOA1 and I am getting worried about my case. I wonder if there is any other VJ member that filed in January and has not received the biometrics appointment, yet.

    Thanks

It took over a month for me to get my Biometrics appointment letter. And it worried me seriously..so trust me I do know that it worries you as I have been through that. But if its not yet 30 days since you received your notice of action, you are ok. If its been over 30 days you should call USCIS and file a service request(SR). But, you'll be fine. No worries.

  8. Just received my interview notice!!!!!!!!! OMG! Its scheduled for March 15th, 2012. I have been preparing for it anyways and by the way, this is what we have:

    -Pictures

    -Joint Bank Account

-Flight Itineries (We lived in 2 different states so we flew back and forth to see each other)

-Signed Affidavits from parents and sponsors

-2 Utility Bills (Power & Cable)

    -Life Insurance

-Cards that we sent to each other (birthdays, valentine etc.)

-Emails as well (Cos we lived in 2 different states at the time)

Also, we sent a bill, joint bank account statements and pictures along with the application packet

Is this enough? Gosh I hope so!

  9. Don't stress! How quickly you get your biometrics letter depends on how quickly your local office is processing things. It can take 2 months or more (ours took 2.5 months for the letter).

Thanks! I received the Biometrics appointment today dated 02/14/2012 and it's soo far out. However, I am going to be occupied that day and I am going to try and do a walk-in tomorrow. I hope they don't turn me away. They better not, lol. I'll let you know how it goes. Thanks!!

  10. Walked in for biometrics this morning. I was worried they wouldn't let my husband do it because there was a citizen oath ceremony going on and signs all over that said "You cannot come in without an appointment-- NO WALK INS!" But we showed the guard his letter and said that he already had plans to be out of town on his date, and they let him go with no problem.

Such a relief that we don't have to give up plane tickets!

Good luck to all who try.

Hi! I am gonna try and do a walk-in tomorrow in the RDU office as well. My appointment is so far out 02/14/2012 and am gonna be occupied during that time so I am going tomorrow to see if I can get it done. I hope they let me

I'll let you know how it goes.

  11. ohkay! I am already nervous. I haven't received an interview letter yet but I am already preparing the evidence. So, this is what we have:

    -Pictures

    -Joint Bank Account

-Flight Itineries (We lived in 2 different states so we flew back and forth to see each other)

-Signed Affidavits from parents and sponsors

    -2 Utility Bills

    -Life Insurance

-Cards that we sent to each other (birthdays, valentine etc.)

-Emails as well (Cos it was a long distance relationship)

Also, we sent a bill, joint bank account statements and pictures along with the application packet

Is this enough? Gosh I hope so!

  12. I mailed out my packet on the 21st of November 2011 and I received my receipt letters on 12/15/2011. The check was cashed 12/12/2011. I am concerned because i have still not received any notices for biometrics. Its been over 30 days and I see that some folks on here who filed after me already have dates set for their interviews! I called USCIS and they put in a service request. (I hope this helps). What do you guys think? I am deeply concerned about this. Thanks!!!
