    Hi All -

I called NVC yesterday. They have received my parents' cases on 9-Apr and 19-Apr (mom and dad, respectively). But case number is not yet available. The lady said to call after 2-3 weeks for case #. I will call in 2-3 weeks and update here.

Has anyone else in this group tried calling?

My Dad's case were received by NVC on 4/13. I called last week and the told me it's taking 8 weeks for case number. Glad to know they're making it earlier by the time you call. I'll try again sometime next week. My mom's case which I file in April 2017 is done and ready for interview. It would be nice if my dad's paper can catch up.

    Good day everyone,

My case was received by NVC on 2/21/2018 still no case number ... so I am still waiting.  Also I have not received the approval letter by USCIS.

I also called NVC just now and they said my case was also received 2/21 but no case number yet. They also told me to give it a couple days to update their system and call again for case number.

  3. Hi Everyone! I have a question for those who are done with NVC.

Do we now gather all the legal documents of our beneficiary and financial documents and send at the same time once we are paid?

I asked because during my time 6 years ago my husband sent his financial docs separately and when they instructed us to send my legal documents that was the time I sent it to NVC.

Just want to make sure so I can prepare ahead of time and ask my parents to send their legal documents to me while waiting for visa payments.

    Thank you!

  4. I received my NOA2 for my mom last night but my case status online is still RFE received on Dec. 27th.

PD is 4/24 and RFE on 12/5. They have asked for my parents marriage certificate and her birth certificate because I forgot to fill out the section for other names used and they want to make sure her maiden name was the one listed in my birth certificate and her current married name is the same person.

Update: I called USCIS and filed a Service request to fix the typographical error. After almost 15 days (today) I received an email saying the below:

"The status of this service request is:

We have received your service request regarding your approved I-130. You indicated that you erroneously provided the wrong name on the I-130, and you would like to correct it. However, this case was approved, on October xx, 2017. Therefore, in order for your case to be processed as desired, you must submit an amended application/petition with the proper fees and signature. "

This is completely wrong as there was no error on my side. The name was correct on the application and on the NOA1 I797 Acceptance letter. I definitely do not want to re0submit the whole application and fees. After calling USCIS again today they wanted to transfer me to 2nd level support but I have received a call back until now. Really frustrated with these good for nothing immigration officers.

That doesn't make sense. Why would you send a new process of petition when the error was on NOA2 which is on their part. Have you called NVC if the received your case? Maybe you can correct it in that stage?

I have a nanny in Philippines who has been with my family for 35 years, and I would like to get her a US tourist visa so she can come visit me in Texas. What documentations does she need to submit? She doesn't have money in the bank or any properties but me and my husband want to pay for all her expenses while she's here.

You can file an i134 form along with supporting docs with her to present during interview.

Just got the NOA2 approval letter in the mail today. The name of my mother is incorrect though, can someone guide me on how to fix that?

Also, When can I call NVC to get the case number?

Congrats! I hope I get to hear an update on our case as well. My NOA1 was also April 24.

When we were processing my petition it was 4 weeks before we heard an update from NVC to proceed on agent assignment, Visa processing and payments. I believe you can correct all the information with NVC once you have it started.
