So it won't affect UCIS's decision on his GC at all?
-
I'm guessing his green card?
He's legally in US and legally working and legally everything else... We just want to know if it will affect USCIS's decision to approve his permanent GC if he signs us an affidavit of support...
-
Hopefully I created this topic in the right place...
So I finally found someone who makes enough and is willing to co-sponsor my fiance... But he's has a unique case as well... He was married to a USC and then after a few years got divorced because she cheated on him... He filed to remove conditions on his green card as divorced. He's still waiting for the approval, he sent his paperwork through an attorney in February. He says he's scared that signing me an affidavit of support will affect him negatively in USCIS's decision of approving or denying his permanent green card...
I believe it won't affect it as long as he makes enough (above poverty 125% poverty line) to sponsor my fiance as well. What do you guys think?

He IS in a temporary GC...
-
Would this raise a red flag during the interview? He's not in a temporary green card and in the process of removing conditions...
-
oh congrats.
I am thiking about traveling to Lima for my fiance's interview when time comes.
Me too!!! Hopefully it will be the end of this month =)
-
Congratulations!!! I'm very excited for you =)

I know the average wait time from when we receive the NOA2 (for K1) to when the NVC receives it is 2 weeks or 15 days... Is there ANY way we can make this wait shorter?
PS: I expedited my NOA2

Ok, let me see if I understand this...
Let's say I made 10,000 last year and I would need 9,000 to sponsor my fiance (which is 19,000 for 2 people). A co-sponsor would only need to make the difference that I need and a joint-sponsor would have to make over 19,000 correct?
We're talking no dependents...
-
What's the difference?
Is a join sponsor where two or more people combine their incomes to sponsor someone and co-sponsor where only the external person sponsors the new immigrant?
Am I right??

No sé si en Colombia también haya esto pero estoy casi segura que sí... Si nunca te has sacado, puedes sacar una Acta de Soltería, donde dice que nunca te has casado y adjuntarlo con una carta que explique que nunca te has casado.

Thanks everyone!

I called again and this lady took my information and submitted the expedite request. I think the first rep didn't know what she was talking about. Now my question is, should I submit the evidence (doctor's letter) now or wait until they ask me for them?
-
I'm confused...
I looked at the link and (If I didn't read it incorrectly) it tells me to write a letter asking for an expedite, and attach the evidence.
However, I just got off the phone with USCIS and they told me that I should fill out a form (I-907: Request for Premium Processing Service), but there's a $1225.00 fee with it.
-
Is there a form you need to fill out? or do you just send in the doctor's letter?
-
G-325a doesnt ask about children, does it?
-
So the petitioner is just supposed to sit there and look pretty while they carry on with the interview?
-
I came up with a question. During a K-1 interview (If both petitioner and beneficiary go to it), how do we know who's supposed to answer the questions? I'm talking about, like...
- How did you guys meet?
- How did he propose?
- What do you guys plan to do when you get back?
etc..
Is the CO going to look at whoever he wants to answer the question or can either of us answer?
-
Y si el/la peticionario es estudiante también!!
-
Hola!!
Alguien sería tan amable de decirme cuales son las preguntas que te hacen generalmente en la entrevista para una visa K-1? Todos los casos valen! por ejemplo:
- Si tienes hijos
- Si has estado casado(a) anteriormente
- Si te han negado visas anteriores
- Si tu familia tiene una historia peculiar, etc.
Gracias!

One more thing, I believe after you get your letter from the embassy you will be filling out a form 156
which asks the question about kids again.

I don't remember if that is done via internet or if you print it out and take it with you to interview.
So in that one I should mention the child and submit it along with my notarized letter stating that I'm aware of this?

Yesah, it's still going to be a while... I was asking for it because I wanted to look for some doubts I had. Do you have a copy of the instructions/info sheet?
-
I can't find it anywhere. Could someone be so kind to send me a copy or a link to packet 3/4 instructions info for Peru's k-1 visa?
Please?

Thank you so much guys! I thought we were screwed and had to reapply again =)

That's what I thought too... But he still wants to wait until he receives his GC before signing anything, just to make sure... How long is the wait to remove conditions?
