    What state do you live in? This happened to my friend when She tried to renew her license however, She requested to speak to a person higher that those people who work at the window, and explained that the NOA paper meant that She was legally here and green card was extended for another year, they took a copy of the paper and they said they will verified this with uscis then send the driver license by mail and they did. You should contact the DMV office in your state and tried to speak with someone higher, I mean it's your right as a lawful resident! You have been granted extension therefore they should not deny your right to driver license. If they feel a paper is not enough they can contact uscis to confirm your here legally.

    This could be good, because you can probably get approved right there ...lets look at it from the positive side we are here to support you. If they interviewing people is what they are doing now, I would muh rather get interviewed and get it out of the way, nothing to worry about at the interview, im pretty sure it will go smooth
