I had the same question why filling it out.

Yes, your married name which will be on your green card.

I just simply waited for my employment card authorization/or Green card and went to Social security office with that and a marriage certificate to change it.It took a little while and there was no problem.They sent me new SSN card within 2 weeks.

She's proof your wife had sex. She's not "the biggest" proof of your relationship she's just one part of your relationship. This is a common misconception. Had you just taken the child in you wouldn't have been approved. I'm not trying to be rude just dispelling the myth that having a kid means you'll be approved no problem or that they're a BIG proof of relationship.

my son is 19months and we took him to the appointment...and the officers did even raise an eye. And our interview is next week and he is coming with us because we dont have a babysitter.

We took her for our AOS interview and didn't even think about it twice.I think she was/is the biggest proof of our relationship anyway

If yes and if you are as a father on your daughter's birth certificate, you could ask for her citizenship and wouldn't need to apply for a green card for her thru the immigration at all.

In the AOS package, you are sending only black and white copies of the documents.They don't ask for the originals.

Then you should have the originals with you at the interview.

But you need a copy of the certified marriage certificate,so you will have to wait until you get it in the mail.

You can work on another stuff in the meantime and than just add it and send it.

My wife's AOS biometrics were basically the same story, only in the Washington DC office (which is actually located in Virginia). I think there was one other person in the office. This is noteworthy because, I assume unlike Indiana, Washington DC actually has a huge immigrant population: over 10% of the people living here are immigrants. Yet it was still a big empty space. They let me come with my wife and watch her go through the whole process. I'm sure they wouldn't have booted her if she had to bring her kid. That being said, of course, I have no way of telling you what will happen to you.

I have a 4 years old daughter and the office is almost hour and half of drive from my town so I can't risk a walk in and I would have to find someone to watch ehr for at least 4 hours.

I think she would be fine there.Reading a book or something,but what if they will have a problem with it?

What does it say on the biometric letter? Does it say that people who aren't having biometrics allow to go with you?

I believe I saw something where it said that due to space available non immigrating people were not allowed in unless for translation.

I'd call or check at your local immigration office you are having your biometrics done at to be sure.

I noticed when I was reminding my husband about his biometric appointment that the date for it is exactly 1 year to the date of his arrival to America. Hmmmm wondered if they planned that?

Yes, you are right.It says on the bottom of the letter that due to limited seating availability in our lobby area, only persons who are necessary to assist you with transportation or completing the biometrics worksheet SHOULD accompany you.

But I have been there before and the lobby is pretty big.I was also wonder if it's different for a kid.The problem is that is over an hour of drive from my town and my husband can't take off from work.in early afternoon. I would have to find someone to watch her for almost 4 hours.

USJANY - The last time we did Bio I went with my husband (I'm the USC). I had to remain seated in the "lobby" when his name was called for the actual biometrics. I couldn't help but giggling at him when he was getting his fingerprints and photo taken.

Ok, broke down and called USCIS on 3/22, exaclty 30 days from the date of the NOA. Gentleman on the phone was very nice and helpfull. Took down info and said would put in a service call to find out where the biometric letter was. WELL GUESS WHAT CAME TODAY!! LOL the biometric letter!!!!!

So now please upday our information for biometric appointment for April 04/18/12

It's making me little nervous about when am I gonna get my bio app letter.

I need to leave US for 3 months.Hope they don't want another interview.

The NOA says:"Your conditional resident status is extended for a period of one year.

During the one-year extension you are authorized employment and travel."

So does it mean I can take this NOA with my expired green card when I travel outside of USA( and if I don't receive new Green card by that time)

and it's that proof I need for them to let me back in the US?

Adding Usmomo to CSC list (If it's VSC, correct me!) usjany sent package on 2/24 and USCIS just cashed yesterday and hasn't received NOA yet. Maybe you guys' package are on same pile and misplaced somewhere for a while or something? I don't know about debit part though...

HI.My problem was with the post office thought.They didn't even received it until the March 13th.

Seems like their application got there within 3 days.

Hope they get they NOA soon

Good,the check was cashed today - good sign

They received our package on March 1 (mailed Feb 28). This is the date of my NOA as well but I did not receive the NOA in the mail until March 8. The check was not cashed until March 5. You could contact USPS or whoever you used for sending the package for more info and proof of when it was delivered.

So I called again and USPS said it arrived at Laguna Niguel,CA post office today morning at 6am.They should deliver it to the USCIS today!!

UGH!What a stress - lesson for me - next time - sending everything over night or 1st class mail and with a signature receipt.

Now I can just hope they won't need to request any more information and that they will open it in next couple of days

I would definitely be calling the usps and if you have made copies of EVERYTHING you sent in, it may be wise to overnight your packet to the USCIS. I'm sorry that they were so slow on your delivery....

Did you send your packet as certified or priority mail? I made sure that I got a signature confirmation for ours. I'd be freaking out too if they hadn't cashed the check yet. I'd definitely be giving them a call! I hope you hear something soon!

HI.I guess I did it wrong!

I sent it normally but with a delivery confirmation, so they gave me a tracking number.

I didn't do it with the signature as I thought it won;t be necessary and as I was sending it early enough ( at least I thought).

I called the USPS and they checked the tracking number and said it's on its way.That it was heavier and was marked as parcel Post and that goes slower.But still it gets there normally in 5-8 days.However the lady said ( 5 days ago) that it is still normal if it gets there by Monday the 12th ( which is today) and If not,I should call again.

I just checked and it's not showing to be delivered...so I am gonna be on a phone again tomorrow,I am desperate!!

Isn't it the post office responsibility?! I mean she was so calm and in a whatever mood when she talked to me.I am calling again tomorrow and I will be harder on them.I have to know where it is!!!

I sent my package on Feb 24th and no word from them that they recieved it.I should have get there March 1st.

How quickly did they cash the check in your cases?Before or after you got the NOA? The check is not cashed either.

I have no idea if the package got there or not!!! My GC expires on March 18th.Are they gonna consider it late even the stamp on the envelope says Feb 24th?

I don't know what is the %, but I think it's just regular process to get your interview before getting the first Green card.

What I think is true is if you file AOS after 2 years of marriage,they give you green card for 10 years and there may not be an interview either,because the marriage is lasting long already

So I sent tha package with receipt and when I am checking it on USPS wbsite,it only shows it was processed on 02/25 coming out of the WA state.Nothing about them receiving it in CA.It only says the estimate delivery was 03/01/2012.

So I don't know if something is wrong and they didn't get it yet or if the receipt is not supouse to tell me when it does arrives.

Yes the I-751 instructions do use "may," however, the USCIS here uses the word "must."

Many people forget to do a change of address and have no problems, even some submit a change of address online and sometimes the new address is not updated in a timely manner, if at all in some cases. Submitting the AR-11 or submitting the info online is pretty simple and you'd be in compliance. Yes you can do a change of address online.
