  1. I also got RFE (I'm April filer for CSC, sorry to post in this thread). I'm sorting the list of documents to send out for RFE. The list contains 15 or 16 pieces (some pieces contain 2 pages, some pieces contain 30-40 pages). I believe I will send out 120 pages or more for RFE, and if they still request for more evidences, I will get really mad this time :D

Make sure when you send out more evidences, it has both names with same address on same pages, date range from 2010 - 2012. To send any paper has only one name or different address, it will not do anything good to you.

I and my husband have gym membership together for 1 year, but our names are on different agreements and different date, the attorney advised us not to send something like that.

About sworn affidavits, it is complicated so we decide not to do those, even they are good evidences.

But the affidavits are not optional. You have to have at least 2

  2. We received an RFE today, dated October 24, 2012.

It mentions that what we did submit, and then identifies how certain items (such as electric bill ) does not show we were together the past 2 years. It states we only show that we've been together 9 months because I only sent a 9 month spread of electric bills. We submitted a TON of banking statements, but it omits that we sent those. Its asking below for banking statements. I guess I will be killing a few trees and printing out every single statement for both of our checking/saving accounts.

I can get more things printed, but there is one that I need advice on.

We moved into our house in August 2011. It mentions that so we are good from August 2011 to present. However, I was previously the only one mentioned on the apartment lease (the US citizen) as when we got the apartment, we never did it with both our names on it. How do I show that we resided together during that time?

Also, affidavits: Can family members be part of this? How many affidavits should I submit?

Thanks for the help and advice.

I heard they actually like an affidavits from non family members better.

I submitted 3 from friends. 2 that live in the same town with us and we are getting together often - have been on a vacation together etc. One from my friend that lives further away, but was my made of honor at my wedding and I have plane tickets that prove that we visited them since. All affidavits I sent had pictures, plane tickets etc. to prove they are our good friends and know our relationship.

As for the apartment - we made sure the lease was in both of our names and we did same with the utility bills right away.SO I don't know if you can do anything now.But the apartment complex people could issue a letter stating you both lived there.

Maybe at least some envelopes/letters from office like social security or from some company that came in the partner's name during that time to the same address. Copy of ID,that states the same address etc ?

    Good luck.

  3. Thank you for the tip! I will head to the bank now!

Yes,we also had the letter from a bank.

Also, they always want to see 2 - 3 years of activity.Basically since you got your last green card, but some of them said since the wedding.

What I did is, I included bank statements for every 6 months. So 1 from spring and one from fall 2010,same for 2011 and one latest one from 2012.They want all the pages, not just the first or last. They want to see the complete bank statement. I did same with a utility bill (2 per year). We made sure we put it in both of our names couple years ago.

Tax return has to be for last 2 or 3 years as well - all pages.

Do you have a car loan or anything in both of your names. They need to see you own things together.

    Good luck

  4. ive got the same situation man, just relax. We have moved twice during our marriage, from Miami to New York and now we are living in Chicago, probably they do background, we didnt file AR-11 because its gay

As a proof we sent them our car titles that cost over 70k together and a lot of other things, but no news i even didnt get NOA, just calm down, smoke something and wait. Someone from january topic, guy still didnt get anything and he is from Egypt too, so may be they give faster green cards for people from wealthy countries like Great Britain, Canada etc, not for shady Egypt Russia etc lol

I am still waiting too.But they got mine on March 13th as I had problem with the way I sent it thru post office.

I am not worried yet..maybe in a month I would

  5. Well I'd like to report that I've received my card by now.... but I haven't. Last Tuesday I got an email that USPS had picked it up and it was on it's way. Then yesterday I get an email that it had been delivered. I checked my mailbox, and all around my house -- nothing. I called USCIS customer service, and the first agent said "it hasn't been returned to us, so you need to call your post office". I asked if she had a tracking number. She said I would have to be put through to a 2nd tier agent for that. 35 minutes later, he finally gets on the line. He says "have you moved?" I said yes in March. He said "well they don't forward the card, but they forward all other mail." I told him that I submitted an address change back in March, to which he replied "that address is not in our system". I told him that I've received several notices, INCLUDING THE CONGRATULATIONS LETTER at the correct address (not forwarded), but he didn't seem to care. He just kept responding "well, the new address isn't in our system". How could it not be in your system if I've been receiving mail -- including the congrats letter -- at this address?

    Super frustrating.

Apparently he put in a customer service request to have it sent out to my "new" address that he "updated in the system". headbonk.gif

    Blah.

We moved too - in February.

I think they said at the post office that this forwarding mail service is good only for 3 or 4 months.Than it stops.Or you have to go and extend it at your post office. I think they assume that you got all the mail covered by changing your address with the banks, offices, friends etc. that are sending you mail.

At that point it may be sitting in a mailbox of someone who is now living at your old address.

  6. Hi

Please add me to february filers

date sent to uscis california service center 02/06/2012

date recieved notice of action 02/15/2012.

did an info pass and got a stamp on my passport 06/15/2012

I went for a vacation to Egypt on 07/03/2012, travel agent in the united states told me that the stamp on passport was not good, and I showed her the NOA and told that's more Important.

I am supposed to fly back to the United States of America on 08/12/2012.

My application is not yet approved

I am on vacation in my country as well and I haven't been approved yet.

I am going back in 3 weeks and just have my expired green card and the NOA. I was told that is enough.

I flew thru Canada on a way here and they were fine with that - seeing my status is extended by 12 months.

I think you are good to go.DO you have your old green card with you?

  7. Well, they say who hadn't have an interview before is more likely to have one now.

And I agree,it was so much stress.I want it to be done. My husband even missed 9 months of our baby's life while I was waiting for fiance visa.

Interview or no interview, shouldn't make any difference as long as we get this out of the way.. It has been a long journey and enough stress but INS is not making it any easy. My wife didn't have an interview with the AOS process but we are ready if they schedule one.

Copy is not gonna be enough.

Try to look for it again or get the stamp.

Hello everyone. I lost my NOA.... I've looked everywhere but I cannot find it....

I have copy ( I have submitted to my employer so I made copy but only front page) but I cannot find the original. Is copy sufficient to prove when I travel overseas? Should I get info pass and get stamp on my passport if I need to travel overseas

  8. Not sure if im doing something wrong, but ive tried to check on my status on the uscis web site and entered the wac number and get an " invalid" response.

Odd thing is i tried checking just after my application check was cashed and it said i was being processed. Has anyone else seen this ?

Or am i going nuts ?

I didn't even check that think yet and I have already done the biometric app.

I think other people here said you have to wait for your NOA letter and enter that

  9. I feel the same. I keep hearing that yes they do another interview, then I've seen some that didn't have to have one. I wonder why?

I was under the impression that most of the 2 years conditional card holders didn't have one.Even the lady at the interview 2 years ago said - it will be probably just all by the mail in 2 years.

It wouldn't work for me.I will be gone for 3 months.

  10. I just wanted let you know that my biometric appointment on 04/27 went well and fast.

I had my 4 years old daughter with me and it was not a problem at all.The office was empty.

Only 2 ladies walked in right before us.We were 30 minutes early, but the officer said we can come in any time.It took 10 minutes.

Too bad the drive was hour and half.

Anyway I am leaving the country in month,so I hope they don't want to schedule an interview.
