  1. Interview was this morning at 7:30. It was a breeze! Thank you to Houston!!! Our interviewer was Mr. More. He started out asking my husband questions taht confirmed what was on the app. (i.e. date of birth, country of origin, ever been arrested, ever been a terrorist...) Then the only question he asked us about our marriage or relationship was how we met. We told him and that was it. He asked what other proof we had brought and I gave him our electric bill, phone bill, new lease, AAA memerbship card and rental insurance policy. He kept the AAA cards, and utility bills. He the said my husband was approved and explained what would happen next and to remove conditions in two years. He didn't ask to look at pictures or anything else we had brought. I was very surprised because my husband and I have an age difference so I expected the case to be loked at very closely. It was clear thought that Mr. More had reveiwed the file in it's entirety (sp) prior to speaking with us based on some things he had said.

Waiting now to see how theother Houston couple did.

  2. Does anyone know if walk-ins are allowed at the ASC in Sugar Land, Texas? I've read they do and I've read they don't and does that even help?

Also were sending in our I-765 & I-131 (didn't realize I could've sent this with my original filing :bonk: ), anyways, will that affect anything if I do a walk-in? I read that some folks filed forms after their original filing that required biometrics too and had TWO fingerprint appointments, some AFTER their interview and it caused delays??

We are in Houston also, but we are being sent to a center off of 290 for biometrics.

  3. My 2 sorrry 50 cents to all of us (february AOS filer) :-)

We are probably used to getting emails/texts/letters every week by now but I'm afraid the real waiting starts after receiving your Biometric appointment letter,

From Timelines of previous AOS filers, I assume The following will happen in 1-2 month's time... or even less and sadly or even more too

    1. May get an RFE {yeah I know no body wants it including me :-( }, hopefully we dont get one

    2. if you are on K1 visa, get your case transfered to california, it speeds up the process ( you may not even get an interview just, your GC mailed to you)

    3. Get either one of /a pair/all 3 of your interview (date)letter, EAD & AP at same time or one after the other in no particular order depending on on what you applied for

    4. Go for your interview (armed to the teeth with your evidence & most importantly confidence & goodluck.

Dont forget to come share the good news with us!

    Also note

    1. You have to learn to trust your online status less now as status may be reverting back & forth So look out for that physical mail

    2. However online Approval in most cases means it's been approved and you should expect your physical letter to that effect

    3. K1 visa holders cases moves faster, Dont get frustrated comparing your timelines to a K1 AOS filer

    4. You can sign up for status update on your case at USCIS https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/jsps/selectusertype.jsp and add all your receipt numbers afterwards to get emails/texts whenever your case has been "touched". It's better than keying in each receipt numbers one after the other to check for update everyday. You have to check the boxes for emails/texts for each case/receipt numbers on your USCIS account to get those

    5. because we'll need patience and may get agitated sometimes Find something else to occupy your time if you are not working yet, In anticipation of your EAD, Build your resume, Volunteer if you may, go for job fairs, apply for jobs,

while also be prepared for your GC interview (it's never too early)

    Good to all!!!

you are welcome to correct any wrong info above & share what else you know with us too

Just to clarify: Even if your case is transferred to CSC that does nto mean you won't be interviewed. They can send the case to the local USCIS office for an interview prior to approval. I have been on VJ for many years and recently created a new account, but have seen several people have their cases transferred only to be interviewed locally.

  4. I know where you are coming from Debbie. My ex-husband changed completely after we married and became a different person. He too, never wanted to to come tot he States, but after I left him, about 6 months after being married and abused, he said he would never leave. He said he would have to be dported. I read those posts here on MENA too and was his queen. You do have to be careful out there. It caused em not tot rust and be weary of every mans intentions. Luckily, I over came that and am happily marreid now. I hope that you can find healing and happiness in your life. Good riddance to him.

  5. We did get two and no I did not open the sealed one. I told my husband that the incomplete date would end up with an RFE. Hence the reason I am going back to have it fixed. Glad I noticed it before we sent it in. Hopefully the office won't give me too many troubles in filling it out manually. Never had an issue years ago when I went through USCIS on another case.

Dillegence is required every step of the way!

  6. As I was reviewing our packets, I reviewed our copy of the medical form. The civil surgeon's office did not put the entire date because the form wouldn't allow them. So there are dates with month and day, but no year. REALLY? Are they that incompetent to think USCIS will accpet this? Did we not pay for a service that we expected to completed in a professinal manner? I think we did. Now I will go back to that office and fight with them to hand write the dates since the form is not allowing the dates to be entered correctly electronically.

Has anyone has this issue and if so, how did you handle it? I can't see how USCUS would accept that kind of work from the civil surgeon on such an important, legal document.
