Yes, they gave her the visa! I'm so glad it's over. The people here have helped us a lot. I'm very thankful.

My wife is at the embassy now. I'm sooooo nervous right now.

Make sure she brings all the extra proof (email, chat, skype logs, other evidence you can think of), it looks like they want more material showing you have a bona fide relationship.

Yes she did that yesterday. I also called and emailed the embassy. I guess the new day we are now looking forward to hearing something good is march 29....

I just briefly talked to her because it was middle of the night here. They did not give the visa. Told her they wanted to see email printouts and yahoo messenger chat printouts. I had told her to print as many emails as she could and take with her. I hope this isn't a first red flag because she didn't listen to me...

Anyway, from what I understand they told her to come back tomorrow with that stuff and drop it in a box. That's all I know right now.

My wife's interview appointment is less than 11 hours from now. I'm hoping to hear something good!

My husband did his medical Wednesday and Thursday and he passed. Woohoo! We are all set for the interview.

How do you know he passed? My understanding is they give the results in an envelope that the beneficiary takes to the interview and cannot open...

So my wife just informed me today that even though the interview is march 19 the earliest she can get her visa is April 5. Why? According to her she can only get one vaccination per month. She got her first one feb 5. Second will be march 5 and at that time she will take the medical exam. Then the third will be april 5. Has anyone heard of this? I was under the impression she could get them all at once when she does the medical.

Rebtel is pretty cheap on calls and texts. A lot less than AT&T.

To everyone buying plane tickets...I've done some checking on kayak.com today and I did not see a noticeable difference in price from say a ticket a week from now compared to a week or two after my wife's interview date (March 19). I hope buying your tickets works out for you but no way can I take a risk of losing around 1500$. I've read too many bad stories on here.

Ok I just reread the original post and the third party affidavit is something that they do ask for. Hopefully you will get lucky on that.

Btw @hellraiser, I didnot know of VJ before so I contacted a family member and all he said was to submit official papers (he filed for CR1). I didnot know affidavits and photographs / phone logs / airlines tickets are official papers like marriage certificate. Certainly my fault, I am not

trying to put the blame on somebody else (I guess my

relative was lucky). Now I am at VJ, I can be ready for future RFE (and/or NVC/consulate steps from the guides).

You shouldn't be worried at all. I only sent in specifically what was asked for and got approved. I've been under the impression stuff like emails, plane tickets, phone logs are things the beneficiary needs to bring to the interview to show proof of the relationship.

Wow, I hope these tickets you are buying are refundable. I personally won't be feeling good until my wife informs me she has a visa in her hands.

Got a NVC case closed yesterday. Interview date of march 19 for my wife. I'm finally seeing a light at the end of the tunnel.

Why not just don't put anything about attention on the main envelope and then write the proper attn on the inside envolopes?

I need to know if anyone knows....tomorrow the NVC will be receiving what they requested on an RFE. Will they process my case right when they get it or will it go back to the end of pile?

This topic causes me to wonder, if you were to get a divorce, does the I-864 still obligate you to financially provide for the person? I know the way my marriage is set up if I was to divorce, I pay her family approximately $6000 and that's it. A lot different than USA divorce!

if so, then for a brief moment in time, you'll have her complete ds-230 packet in yer hands.

a part of the ds-230 packet is the Police Clearance Certificate (PCC).

The office I was referring to, is the office that actually issues the Police Clearance Certificate. When in doubt, call that office, inquire.

I am the petitioner but no I'll never have that in my hands. She has sent everything. Ive already corrected the DS-230 today and will have her send a revised version tomorrow to try to avoid an RFE delay in case we get it. The guy I've been talking to at rapidvisa did not think we'd get one anyway but I know someone else has for the same issue so instead of waiting I'm having her send another one 'just in case'. The PCC is good for the entire country I have also been told.

She's only lived in her own country. I'm feeling ok on the PCC thing....I just need to send a revised DS-230 I guess to try to save time before I wait only to get an RFE when I already know I have a problem.
