I received my CR1 visa after completing my embassy interview in Egypt. I want to travel to the United States very soon. However, I wanted to fly directly to New York to visit for one week before flying out to Asheville, North Carolina, which is the US address I will live in with my wife. Will it be a problem for me to go directly to New York instead of directly to Asheville, NC first?

I had applied for i-130 for my wife and it got approved more than a month back. Now when I called NVC they told me that they have received my petition and created a case number. But I have not received the fee bill for AOS or 3032 form. Can I just email them the 3032 with the case number or should I call them up to ask for the fee bill.. how does the process work.

I have prepared all AOS and DS-230 ready to submit once they start asking for it. I am just wondering what is electronic processing means. Do i have to go for DS260 or DS230. i am confused. please help

Bring anything and everything proves your marriage even if you have been together all the time and you think your case is solid usually the consule don't ask about any of 'em if he/she sees your case is solid but just in case bring everything with you

I was looking for airline tickets today for me and two of my friends going to Nigeria. I am married to a Nigerian, my friends are engaged and meeting their fiancees for the first time. My first trip was around $1200, my second, earlier this year, was around $1000. Now everything, no matter how far out I look for the remainder of the year is approximately $2000! WOW...that's a huge jump in price. Does anyone know of a cheaper flight from the US to Nigeria?

No they didn't tell me , they just informed me of the interview date and told me to compelete my medical examination

Hello, the US Embassy in Cairo informed me online that my interview will be in may,23rd 2012 since last monday but I didn't recieve packet 4 from 'em , will I need it for my medical examination and during the interview or it doesn't matter as I know the interview date

we requested expidite based on medical reasons, we just called the USCIS by phone and after few days they sent to us e mail says we have to sent medical reports to 'em so we sent all the papers prove our claim and that's all, good luck wwith your case

You did not make a mistake

some people expedite before if they have all their papers ready and some expedite after

With Cairo if you expedite before then they have a chance to delay you more after the interview

All you need to do is email or call them and explain and ask when your interview date is

Yea you are right , I contacted the embassy yesterday and they replied this morning they said they recieved my docs from NVC and my interviw will be in 23rd,may thank you

Thank you all , the Embassy sent to me e mail this morning said they recieved my papers in 22nd,April and my interview date will be 23rd,may I still don't understand what happened but it seems the embassy recieved my case before our packets due to the expedite

Hello everyone , the NVC accepted our expedite request and forwarded my case directly to the embassy and I read lately that I have to send all my docs and forms to the embassy not to the NVC and pay the fees during the interview , but I already paid the IV packet bill and AOS bill online and sent the packets to the NVC like any normal CR1 case , but now the embassy sent to me a message saying it will send packet 3 to me for the required docs and forms so what should I do now , will I pay fees again during the interview and send another papers to the embassy or what? I'm so confused now

Hello, I sent to the US embassy in cairo a message to ask about my interview date they replied ' We acknowledge receipt of your case. We forwarded a packet of instructions with the required documents and forms to your address in Egypt via DHL. Upon receipt of your completed packet, we will schedule an appointment for your final visa interview on the first available slot" is this normal? I sent to the NVC all the documents and forms they needed in the Packet IV so why do they ask about additional forms ?

I heared that the US embassy in Cairo don't allow the petitioner to be during the interview, so don't they still allow this ?

Only those in EP (electronic processing) get case complete emails.

And it'll vary by country how long it takes from case complete to interview date assigned. Typically, it's within a month.

I asked this in another thread but this question is probably more appropriate here. I called the NVC today and they told me my expedite case has left the NVC to the Embassy in Cairo. I called the DOS hotline number and the operator said they hadn't received it in their system yet and to call back next week. How long should it take from the time of case complete at the NVC to get an interview date from the embassy? Aren't they supposed to send an email when your case is completed at NVC?

Well, they need an extension, so I just had to contact the supervisor and let them know the 2011 taxes aren't available yet, only the 2010. I'll just have to wait and see what happens to my NVC case

Beg your parents to finish it. You got an approved expedite and now you will end up in AP for 2 months (or more)after the interview when you do not have the documents required. Plus the regular name check AP

You will have an RFE and your case be held up over that.

Is it ok to send in the 2010 taxes instead? I know my parents and they file at the last minute or either get an extension, so the 2011 taxes won't be here anytime soon.

I just received a letter in the mail that we were allowed to expedite our case and I can either email or mail our documents.

My question is about the i 864. I've lost a significant amount of wages this past year, though technically I do make over the poverty level, so I decided to use my mom as a joint sponsor.

The problem is that Ive been waiting weeks to get an IRS transcript of her 2010 taxes because she hasn't filed this year yet.

Can I send in the I864 without her tax return? She's a federal employee and I have her W2 and SF-50(statement of employment with pay grade, salary etc). Would that be enough?

our case is at NVC now , must I send my orginal marriage certificate , police records and my orginal military records in IV packet ?or their official translations are enough with photocopy of the orginal certificates ? and if I will send the orginal certificates will they send 'em back to me before the interview or I have to get another certificates for the interview

NOA2 received MARCH 7 through expedite. I'm so glad everything is coming along. I know the expedite doesn't make that much of a time difference since 5 months is quickly approaching, but every bit helps.
