I would so love to give you some advice but I sent my AOS following the checklist my hubby got his biometrics appt within 3 weeks he had it done and now we have an interview coming up (which I am kind of worried about).I dont know if its a good or bad thing we got an interview but I am hoping when they meet us all will be good and he will get his green card please G-d. I am not sure what happened but I didnt send I693 either my husband got his biometrics appt and now they sent us an interview date for a month from now. I have no bank statements etc as he has no I.D. as dmv is awful he has a SS card but it was too late to get I.D. once he got the ss card as his name was wrong etc. We have been living together and married. We got married about a year ago and he has been in USA for about a year and a few months.These people worry me with RFE why did we not get one should I be glad or worried?

Never used them before I'm in Cali but if you check online an appraiser can do it without coming out simply by running comps in area and home details. Ask appraisers for this only they dont need to physically look at the property.This is what I did it was about $150 if I remember correctly,and he emailed it to me.Good luck I know this is a hard time.

Hey folks I need some help and I am sure here I can have some helpful people give me some good advice. My fiance has been her in the US for a little over two months we tried to get his social security card but were made to wait 5 weeks for a response finally we got it. We went to the DMv to get an Id and they refused stating his I-94 expires in 6 weeks. I have no money for the next adjustment of status and I dont want him to be here improperly nor do I want him to leave. We will get married next week as all appointments were full until then and he will have his i-94 expire about 6 days later are we ok? Will he be in violation it is within the 90 days but cutting it close and it will be a few months before I can afford to do the next formal step. Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks in advance to all.

Okay my fiance had his interview this morning and he got approved on the spot. G-d is great and thank you to all of my help from you guys. just 30 minutes ago i received a text for a case update .. opened my lap top and went to USCIS website and my case was approved .. thank GOD .. good luck to all of you .

On the UAE reciprocity page it states:

Police Records

Available, only if applicant is physically present in the UAE.

Police certificates may be obtained by any person, regardless of nationality, by personally appearing at the Central Police Headquarters located in the emirate of residence or former residence. When appearing to request a police certificate, the applicant should provide recent photographs, a letter from the requesting authority, the date of residence in the emirate, and their passport.

Not available by mail. Post recommends that consular officers waive the general requirement to obtain police certificates unless the applicant lives in the UAE.

Okay so what did you do and what do we do?Oh this is so stressful and the stuff going on there now makes it even worse. My Fiance worked in Dubai for 6 months and got a residence visa for his work. We have just sent back pack 3 without anything from Dubai and I am worried now how can we get anything from there now he is back home in Egypt I dont want this to be a delay.... Help

Dont get caught up in the "jones' " I dont know where you are but that is what we Americans do with the idea of establishing credit but there are a lot of negatives in buying a car the $ is a loan.Maybe you should start small.Something that is good s a gym membership that reports to credit agencies frequently, the more positive thins the better on your credit and it is a cheap bill. Get a credit card,use it wisely. If you are a student get a student card easy to get. Or check in school for a class and apply for one they will approve you a lot easier then a regular card as you have no credit probably.Start small you dont want to get a big bill as no work is guaranteed at this time. Good luck and by a run around car, I suggest a Honda that is very used it will run forever.Good luck and have your wife help you.

It has come to my attention that yet, another VJ member from the MENA region is suffering from physical abuse from her husband. He basically just arrived in the US (2 weeks ago).

I don't know about you, but I am fed up with this BS. It's time to take action. I propose we create some sort of anonymous/ confidential board amongst us to help each other out. The issue with anonimity was brought up at togetherforever13's thread; the fact that the perpetrators have access to read threads and even comment as guests.

While we come up with a strategy, can the moderators post some permanent topic on the Family Discussion portion of this website with information on domestic violence? I don't know if that alraedy exists or what else to suggest to put this in the forefront.

Maybe we can strategize by states, even cities. For example, if you live in NY and need help, you can count on the help of members living in the tri-state area.

I may be rambling here and even sounding ridiculous, but this is just unacceptable.

He probably won't be contacted by the embassy, it takes 1-2 weeks for them to put it in their system. My husband wasn't contacted by the Embassy. They sent out his package 3 by DHL. My husband called his local DHL office each day to ask if they had a package for him, after calling each day DHL ask for his phone number so they could contact him when they were going to deliver it, DHL did call him to make sure they had the right address when they received it and he paid 67 pounds to take it from them. Have him call DHL to see if they have a package for him. Good Luck

To Add: Back when we did it it took 4 days to receive, but now things are alittle slower.It might be sitting at the DHL office. If they can't find your fiance's address they will return PK3 to the Cairo Embassy, make sure he checks with DHL soon.
