  1. My interview was yesterday (Thursday, November 1) at 2:15pm in Atlanta. We arrived at 1:30pm went through security in a matter of minutes and then had to wait on the first floor until it was 1:45pm (30 minutes before our appt) to check-in. After checking in, we went upstairs to wait for our number to be called. At 2:20pm a young lady called us and we went to her office to be sworn in and interviewed. She was very serious but professional. She asked for both of our passports, GA licenses, IDs, birth certificates, my I-94 and old EAD. She made a copy of our GA licenses. She then asked my husband his name, DOB, address, place of birth and parents names. She then asked the same questions to me along with my last visa and last entry date into the USA. She then asked my husband how and where we met and asked me the yes/no questions that the I-485 application asked. She asked for bonafide marriage evidence and looked through both our photos from the last 4 years and our wedding album. After this, she said we were done and she would review our file to make sure she had all the information. If she needed more information, she would send a RFE to us. If she had everything, she would approve us and explained the conditional GC. We were out of the office by 2:45pm. The interview was straight forward but I really wanted to know if we were approved on the spot. Luckily, at 5:30pm I got a text notice that I was being registered as a permeant resident :) APPROVED!

The main lessons were do not be stressed. Take all the documentation you can and remember you are in a real relationship so you have nothing to worry about. The interviewers are serious but they are just doing their jobs!

    Congratulations!!!

  2. We went to our interview appointment yesterday, drove down to Casper in the midnight for almost 7 hours for 9:15am appointment. we got the hard copy of the appointment from our congressman. So we arrived early and just waited until the time came. the officer show up on time and tell us he can't do the interview yesterday because my other file still in Denver while other one with him. He waited my file came from Denver until yesterday but nothing show up. He said it was pointless if we do the interview when the files not complete. I was so mad when he told us about that, he canceled my interview and said will rescheduled again between this month or next month( can you imagine that). The officer also told us that I have two separated files where most people only have one file.He don't even know what file was that. So does anyone ever have same issues like me, have 2 separated files on your cases ??

OMG, are you serious?? I'd be beyond pissed!!I'd start calling USCIS and bother them about the second file

  3. So, I have a question...

I just checked the processing times for my office, Chicago (IL) and this is what the website says

I-485 Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status May 28, 2012

However, if that office is taking longer than our processing goal to handle the form type in question, you will see the filing date (e.g., "April 10, 2003") of the last case we processed on the date the website chart was last updated. The charts are updated on or about the 15th day of each month.

They way I understand this is that they take way longer than 5 months to process and the last case was MAY 28.

If this is correct, I am happy I got my EAD/AP combo. It may take many many months for my office to process the case

  4. Hope everyone is doing well today? Kim & Gesi, as well as anyone else being strong through Sandy - stay strong and hope all is well?

I got my third EAD text this evening so I assume it's going out tonight and I should have it in the next couple of days?

I got my text too, apparently our case is getting update at the same time.

On October 30, 2012, we mailed the new card directly to the address we have on file. You should receive your new card within 30 days. If you do not, or if you move before you get it, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283

We should have it on monday at the latest
