Email alone is fine, you do not need to send in the hard copy. Make sure you use the template available at VJ.
India is not eligible for electronic processing, therefore DS-261 does not apply to you.
Keep calling the NVC to see when they accept the DS-3032. Once they do, the IV bill will be invoiced. Please join us in the NVC thread and you'll get lots more information on next steps.
-
The advice usually given on VJ is to keep calling daily to find out.
-
Is it posssible to get AOS and Ds230 invoice at the same time or wthin two days apart? Thanks my VJ members
Yes. Please see the timeline in my signature.

we just have the immigration timelines, information that form users like yourself submit. you can review other people in similar application process at islamabad embassy by setting the filters.
i thought there was something official that the embassy published. thanks though!
-
Are there portals you can view this information on? I don't have an interview scheduled just yet, but it would be nice to know the link for the Islamabad Embassy's portal for IR1/CR1.
-
I have the same question. Has anyone taken the pictures digitally and satisfied this requirement?

NVC broke me ya'll. I submitted to them and scanned my approval letter to their flippin nvcresearch. 27 days no recieved date. Now another email to clog the system. ughhh.
Well at least I get 3 weeks off for the interview what ever decade that will be in.
It took almost a month for them to receive my case, and a while longer to generate the case number. Stay positive!
-
I sent out the AOS and IV packets today. Thanks for the help Saylin.
Me too. Thanks Saylin, and everyone else for the help so far.
-
you would delay your case because it is too much. you just need the civil documents http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3195.html . the evidence of your relationship can be shown up front at the interview.
another strategy. after case is forwarded to the embassy, you can forward those documents to nvc and request it to be attach to your case. and nvc will forward it to the embassy w/ your case.
remember, you don't want to slow em down. you should read this post because some information is related to you http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/267559-usa-is-now-arizona/page__st__60__p__4100571#entry4100571 .
Thanks for the info. I'd rather spend a few extra days at this stage than risking the dreaded AP after the interview. I wanted to provide all the evidence that I have accumulated thus far that shows our marital relationship, so that there is no doubt that the relationship is genuine.

The only disadvantage is that NVC won't get your AOS as soon as possible. But in your case, it looks like a difference of one way, so not a big deal.
And no, it doesn't really matter who signs a cover letter. I personally signed my own IV cover letter as the IV package is about the beneficiary.
Thanks Saylin. I guess the point is moot. IV Invoice shows as Paid too...woohoo!
I'll try to get both packages out today.
-
AOS shows as 'Paid' as of this morning. IV still shows 'In Process'. I am expecting this to clear by tomorrow and will send everything together.
Are there any disadvantages of sending both the packets together? I will make sure I clearly separate them out and have NVC's cover sheet on top of each packet.
Also, I have a cover letter for the IV packet that I, the petitioner will sign and date. I am indicated as the agent on file. This wouldn't cause any problems, would it? Just want to be sure.
-
Have you tried calling NVC to ask for this information?
Considering you sent in your DS-230 on July 12, barring any RFEs your case should be closed.
I would recommend calling NVC everyday to see if there is an update on the interview being scheduled.
-
Twice a week I send status update emails with the case number in the subject and the following info in the body of the message:
NVC Case No
CIS Case No
Petitioner's Name
Petitioner's Date of Birth
Beneficiary's Name
Beneficiary's Date of Birth
It usually takes about 10 days to get a reply. This is why I send it twice a week, so throughout the entire process I am consistently updated on the status. I even sent an email yesterday to the embassy where my husband will do his interview. Although they replied in one day but said the NVC will schedule our interview.
So you're the one clogging NVC up for all of us :/
-
this is retarded.. i got my invoice but i can't pay for it. because it is not listed online.
I had the same happen to me. But the IV invoice just showed up in the portal and I was able to pay it.
Now both my AOS and IV invoice show as 'In Process'.
Considering they are a day apart, I might just send the two packages together.
-
Progress!
DS-3032 was accepted. Email confirmation sent to the beneficiary about an hour ago.
Furthermore, the IV invoice has disappeared from the payment portal, which should mean that the invoice is coming soon.
On the other hand, AOS invoice still shows the status of 'In Process'. So I'll wait to send that packet out.
-
Finally payed my AOS invoice this afternoon.
Question: My wife and I also received two exact emails from NVC, basically notifying us of the Case #, IIN and BIN (I already knew this information from calling). The email contents also included a barcoded DS-3032. Since I already sent a the choice of agent email several days ago, should I ignore this? Or is this my cue to resend the information?
Also, I can generate the cover sheet for AOS package right now. But as the instructions say, am I still supposed to wait until the status shows as 'PAID'?
Called this evening and a nice operator told me to:
- Resend the DS-3032
- Send in the AOS Package while the payment status shows "In Process"
Saylin - do you see any concerns with this?

Just got off the phone with an agent who told me there are no updates on the case.
I at least expected them to know of the DS-3032. She said that they haven't even asked for it yet.
Is it possible that I sent my DS-3032 too early? Should I resend? Are there any consequences for resending it?
The AOS disappeared from the payment portal on Friday morning. I am hoping I get to pay the invoice today. I feel my case is moving very slowly. Is it just me, or are others experiencing this too?
-
When I log into the NVC payment portal, Petitioner and the entire AOS fee information is missing. But, I can see the information below the IV Bill, Beneficiary Name, DOB... Petitioner name missing - anyone encountered this situation? Thanks. (Note: Yesterday, I saw the petitioner name and the AOS fee, Not invoiced etc..... Today it is disappeared....)
That is usually a good sign and indicates that your AOS is on its way to be invoiced.

My I 130 is for my husband. he is currently residing in india. i am hoping for an interview in september lets c wat happens.
thanks for the reply
It is taking about a month for the NVC to receive a case from USCIS and about another week to enter it into their system. You won't received anything until at least that point. Please hop over to the July NVC thread and folks will help you out.
September would be optimistic. Generally, it takes another 3-4 months from your NOA2 up until your interview date. Good luck!
-
Someone please correct me if i am wrong, but since the petitioner is living abroad, wouldn't it qualify them for DCF? Or does it not apply for Pakistan?
-
The AOS does not show at all, now when i log into the payment portal. I am assuming that is a good sign. Can anyone tell from experience, how much longer it takes to get the invoice when this behavior occurs? Should i expect to be invoiced today?
-
The wait just to get the AOS invoiced is getting ridiculous. Today, I was greeted by an operator who refused to listen to my full questions and kept interrupting me with "Please wait 20 business days for the next step".
In return, I snickered and asked: "You are in customer service, aren't you? Just want to make sure".

Great advice and it seems it did the trick. This should be made part of the FAQ.
