well there is a time horizon. You know for a fact that it will take at least 1 week from NVC to Stockholm. Another week for them to send out package 3 and back and then you will be scheduled for interview within 2-4 weeks. It's a fast embassy. You will have your visa within 5-7 weeks if you make sure to do your part

Let's hope so. I have to stop reading horror stories about K-1 people waiting for nearly 2 months for NVC to receive their files...

Oh yeah..government positions are a pain to apply for. My wife's position hiring process took 7-8 months to complete and she is American...More background checking and slow-moivng HR review process.

That reassures me! I was thinking they make it a pain only for non-americans. Well, I guess I'll prepare everything, apply for it when I'll be ready and continue to apply for private companies for now.

Too bad, the application seemed very easy to complete until I read about showing proof of education... Haha!

Nope :-( If it doesn't' come tomorrow, I'd be a little worried... It shouldn't take more than 2-3 days even with regular mail unless it is sitting in the mailroom at the Embassy.

Nothing today. Oh well, I hope it comes on Monday. When DOS said, it went out I think they meant the package was prepared and scanned out in the system. It probably got picked up a day or two later.

Do you have a job ready for when you recieve it? I've had two interviews with recruting agencies. One said I am overqualified for administrative positions and the other said that within a couple of weeks she could definately have a job ready fo rme. Other than that I have turned down one job and I had another interview today and one tomorrow. Hopefully, Ill be working soon

I have been networking and got some contacts. My EAD should come in 2 weeks or so. Haven't been very active looking for job since my mother-in-law is here on visit and my sister is coming next week too lol.

I know I am gonna miss it here though... Not many places in the world where you can just jump in the ocean right after work or drive 10 minutes and you are in the middle of a rain forest.

I know what you mean. My wife and I have been talking about heading back to LA in the fall for the exact same reasons.

Yeah, I found maybe 5-6 jobs in my field in Hawaii.. maybe one that I can apply for. On the first day I look for job in CA, I found 60-70 engineering jobs..probably 10 that I can apply for. lol

But we would like to retire in Hawaii :-)

No I don't expect m NOA2 in 4-5 months but I expect NOA2 for a lot of other people. The faster CSC moves, the faster my NOA2 will come too. I have been digging the statistics of CSC timeline in the last couple of years, it seems to speed up when they are getting behind timeline 5-6 months on an average. Maybe, because they put more manning on the job to clear backlogged cases but it also consequently creates momentum after the backlogged cases are cleared.

Did you include the part of luckiness? It's difficult to measure, I know, but I need to add a part of difficulty to your calculations!

Yes, northern CA. The frigid cold? Which cold? I have constantly a blanket with me these days. I don't feel any cold! And careful to you to not break in pieces, because from Denmark to Hawaii… what a temperature difference!

Nothing more than the usual, seeing cases from VSC arriving at the NVC in 5-10 days after their approval date just made me frustrated lol. But well I know that I am not alone waiting for CSC's snail service.

I know but it's pretty funny because when we were waiting 4 weeks for our case to get to the NVC and sent that inquiry email we were praying to God xD

and the email I got today was "Your case has finished processing at the NVC and is now at the Stockholm Embassy" - Jesus xD

We weren't gonna book a ticket until my passport arrived but this ticket is too good to pass. So we jumped the gun. In the worst case, I would have to reschedule but it doesn't cost anything to change the ticket the first time

Same here. But I am actually doing it on purpose though. I will just write my master thesis when I get to the states. That way I can take my Danish student grant with me, and keep busy until I get my EAD!

That is a really good plan! But do you have to come back to DK to deliver and defend your thesis? I graduate in late April, hopefully I get the visa shortly after!

Yes, I will have to go back to defend it. However, that will not be until 6-8 months after my US entry,which should leave me with enough time for an advance parole.

When the cat is trained to use litter box, there shouldn't be any problem with the carpet. But they will definitely pee everywhere in the beginning especially when if it's a kitten. We are going to get a puppy when I arrive in the US too

Yep, it's been a rollercoaster ride. Got so happy last week until I was told that our case is put under additional processing with no timeframe, though they said all cases undergo additional processing. Got depressed again in the last 2-3 days until today. Finally, our case is out of the US, it's gonna go much faster from now on. Medical exam on Monday
