  1. So the last 2-3 weeks before the interview is the real test for patience. Slowly I am failing this test. Should have kept the job a month longer...

      Every step will be difficult... And I noticed it was worst when I called everyday and got the same answer (my NVC step was pretty fast, but my embassy/DOS was painful). I know exactly that feeling of "not knowing when and not being able to plan". Be strong guys, it will come and then you will forgot all that pain! Maybe try not calling everyday if it's too painful...

      Yep. Becomes a financial burden too. I had to quit my job to get a vacation with my wife in August, being absolutely sure I'd have an interview date by mid-August. Still looks like it, but knowing would calm my nerves tremendously.

      If there was a time horizon, I can honestly hop on a plane to Hawaii tomorrow and wait over there. I have worked and saved up a lot in the past months. But I can't because what if the NVC receives it tomorrow Arghhh....
