  1. Hi Everyone!

We're Approved    ...I just got the email/text and the site shows update as well.

I shaking all over but I had to share our great news...He's at work right now but is leaving as I write!

First thanks to Almighty God...and second to all of you guys who helped me along the way...I'm shaking all over right now. I can't believe how fast it has happened.

OMG that was quick! Congratulations girlie! I'm so happy for you! I hope mine comes soon! :help:

  2. Well, for those who saw my post earlier this week and all of the drama.....he decided last night that he wasn't in love with me anymore and didn't want to be with me. He left my house and returned today with police to get his things. There's a ton of ugliness in between last nght and now that happened but emotionally, I can't relive that right now so I'll omit that. But I will say that it was discovered he was in fact using me for the visa and this entire marriage was a lie, for him. My heart is broken but I know this is for the better. I called ICE and filed my fraud complaint and will follow through with the remaining steps.

I guess that the breaking point was when he had his friend confront me and tell me that I'm a crazy ###### if I thought any Dominican man would love an ugly gringa like me. And that he got what he wanted, the visa, so it was best to leave him alone now.

The rest of my day consisted of an overwhelming amount of messages and emails from his family offering money not to report him. Smh.

I know I'm crazy but I still love him. It absolutely kills me that he's done this and that I have to second guess all of the beautiful moments we had together. I may never get the answers I want but I'll have peace and that's most important.

I want to thank everyone so much for all of their advice while I've been on here. This is an amazing site.

    My journey ends here ......

OMG...I am so sorry for you hun...I am praying for you...this is very sad...I am sorry this has happened...If you need to vent or talk I will give u my number to call me...Sometimes I need this myself as my sis-in-law has flipped out on me...God bless you!

  3. Yes foreign documents must be translated. You (the petitioner) can translate the document word for word and it should say at the end:

I (translator's name), certify that I am fluent in the English and Spanish languages, that I am competent to perform the translation and that the above translation is the complete and accurate translation of the document entitled (document title).

    Your signature_____________

    type your name ____________

    Address and telephone number______

I translated all my Spanish documents. Good luck! :star:

  4. Well, I hate to burst your bubble but ALL passports aren't printed in Native language AND English! Haitian passport is written in Creole and French...absolutely no English. I have the documents in hand and there isn't any. If it had English I wouldn't be here trying to get help!!!!

    But thanks for trying...

OMG I did not translate my Haitian fiance's passport. I did translate his birth certificate. I didn't think I needed to translate the passport because I didn't hear anyone else had too. I also didn't think it was a big deal because its pretty self explanatory (its set up just like a passport from the USA). I think that RFE is a bunch of BS. Praying for u NOLA!

  5. Interview date is it given when?

    A. When you get Packet 3

B.After the medical and you go pay at sogebank

    C.or NVC sets it ????

    Thank in Advance Guys!

    The embassy's email: papcons@portaupric.us-state.gov papcons@state.gov acspap@state.gov

Prior to packet 3, Consulate issues a 3.5 packet to alien spouse to complete. All requested documents from this packet must be submitted before packet 3.0 can be sent out by the Consulate.

In an effort to increase the percentage of applicants who have the necessary documents at the time of the interview and to decrease the waiting time, the Consular Section in Port-au-Prince has developed the Packet 3.5 system to pre-screen applicants. As soon we receive a Packet 3 from the NVC, the Consular Section mails the applicant a Packet 3.5. The Packet 3.5 contains a list of documents that the applicant must present at the time of the interview. The instructions direct the applicant to assemble the documents and deposit them at a local courier service. For a small fee, payable by the applicant, the service assembles a packet for each applicant and delivers the packets to the Consular Section daily.

The Consular Section screens each packet for completeness. If the applicant has included all necessary documents, the Consular Section returns a sealed packet to the courier service with a label informing the applicant when to return for their interview, usually within 2 weeks. If the packet is incomplete, the applicant will be asked to gather the missing documents and return for an interview at a later date, usually within 2 months. This system allows the Consular Section to schedule immediately applicants who are ready for an interview and notify other applicants of the additional documents that they must obtain before their interview.

On the day of the interview at the Consular Section, each applicant must present all of the following documents:

    a valid Haitian passport; extract of birth certificate from the National Archives of Haiti; other civil documents (e.g. extract of marriage certificate, divorce decree, death certificate), as required; additional evidence of relationships (see below); evidence that the applicant will not become a public charge in the United States (see below); a completed application form (Forms I-230-I and I-230-II);

three photographs; and a medical report.

Other Forms (if any)? We will be moving this summer to a new format for Immigrant Visa issuance, and will require two additional photographs for each applicant. Henceforth, we will need 4 IV photographs, 3/4 frontal view with the right ear visible, and also 2 standard identification photographs, full face.

Here's the link to what I found: Haiti Embassy info

I think the interview is given after packet 3 has been received. Ladies?

  6. My boyfriend arrived intact, in one piece and tired. He tells me immigration was easy; no drama. They took his passport, fingerprints and asked him to go to another room. There were a lot of people, however for some odd reason, he only waited 5 minutes. Processed him and he was on his way.

Time to get drunk and watch Bill Maher.....

Congratulations  enjoy your life together

  7. Thanks Barbie, I know I will have fun. I always do but this time it is different because I have a chance to do more then ever before. Oh wow so you have never been to Haiti, despite what you see in the news it really is a wonderful place and the people know how to party regardless of the reality.

I hear that it is really a nice place with good people. I do plan to go someday. But with all the expenses with filing for the visa, plane ticket and AOS. I will probably hold off for a while. I just really want to get my fiance here. Then maybe we can go back together soon. Enjoy your trip!

  8. Hey Haiti Portal,

I am going to Haiti next week and I want to do some different activities this time on my trip to Haiti. Each year I go and it's all about Carnaval for me. This year Carnival will be in Aux Cayes and I will not be traveling out to Aux Cayes to party soooooo i would like to know what else is there to do, that is fun, safe and of course romantic. I am looking for places to take great pictures with my finace but I am also looking for nightly hot spots for fun.

I also would like to hang-out and or just meet some of you Haiti VJ members who are currently in Haiti. It would be great to share a Prestige or a shot of Barbancourt with someone from VJ. I live in PetionVille very close to El Rancho. I am on the Digicel network so if anyone wants to give me info while in Haiti PM me for my cell number.

Some examples of what I am looking for are:

    Clubs

    Beaches

    Restaurants

Library- not romantic-but I can change that  hehehe.

ect.....anything you can think of would help. Without working internet at home it is not easy to know where the party is at unless you are glued to the radio.

Thanks in advance for your help.

    Chynna

    Hey Chynna,

Have fun on your trip. Sounds like you are ready to have some fun with your hubby! I've never been to Haiti but I would like to go and visit my future in-laws. Have fun! Blessings

  9. Wow, that was fast!!!! Didn't expect to hear anything from them for at least 5 months! Hope it's for what I think it may be...not answering question re: criminal convictions. If that is all, we are good. But will just have to wait for hard copy!

Wow! That was quick. I hope you return that paperwork fast! I see a lot of people getting rfe's then a week later approved. I hope this is the case!

  10. Dear VJS even though i havent been here u guys have been Awesome.and there really are a lot of lovely people here.am glad i met u all,esp midge mij, zeebee, camille, and many others whose names ive forgotten but have been very helpful.Sadly there wont be any K1 for me anymore, since my fiancee said hes scared he would get in trouble if he files for me because its been just a year after his divorce and he thinks prolonging the wait will make our petition be aproved .Honestly its been a few months but am really fustrated already and to hear him say that really hurt,my reason,we made a decision together, but it seems to me that he isnt willing to risk it all for me,am young, i love him with all my heart and not because of status,i honestly love him and have never for a split second thought of cheating on him,i put my life on hold for him,but i honestly have to find myself, cos waiting around seems like forever to me,considering the fact that we are already miles apart anything can happen along the way.i Hvae decided that we both go our seperate ways pursuing our dreams, and leave the rest to God.I have applied for a shool and france and waiting upon approval.i hope the time will help me forget.thank u all once again.

    almost wife to be

Oh Rossie I am really sorry to hear this honey. I was hoping you would be joining me in this long journey. If he is divorced and free to marry he should be fine filing the I-129F. I wish you happiness. (F)

  11. Hello everyone! Mani you have been waking our little portal up lately! Have you been checking your mailbox? Seems like that NOA2 should be here any day now.

Question? After we get our Noa2 and our packages arrive @ the NVC. We pay all the fees. Can anyone tell me how long the wait time is for a interview @ the Embassy in Haiti?

  12. Went to the mailbox today and there was my NOA2. I ran to the phone and called my fiance. I couldn't breath!!! I didn't know it would feel like this. Thank you God for answering my prayers. Thank u Vj and all the members that helped me. I love this site!!!

Congratulations! I hope mine comes soon. I filed right after you. Good luck!

  13. This is very sad to hear after you have done all you can to bring your husband here to start a new life together. If he's not willing to work things out and try, there's no reason for you to continue the relationship. He can always move back to Egypt and start over. Don't ever settle for less. I wish you the best of luck!
