  • Our Story
We met on the glorious afternoon of 6/16/11. By the 17th we knew our worlds had changed. Within 10 days we realized there was no going back. Our worlds must be combined. By 9/11 we were engaged. By 12/11 we were learning EVERYTHING we could about each other's worlds- history, culture, language, politics. And deciding which country we should spend our future in. By 3/12 we were beginning the process to make it happen. Almost a year later almost every waking moment is spent thinking about each other. By 5/12 we'd filed our I-129F! Now the future awaits us :)

  1. We passed! Yeah! Now whether to pay more for Julio to come NOW or wait til Jan. 14 when the only additional cost will be the plane ticket... :)

Beau & Digna, I don't think you'll have any problems going in Dec/Jan. Julio can decide to pay for the Carta Blanca with me writing LOI to help assure a PVE, but also paying $150/$136/$20, or we can wait til Jan. 14 and he'll just need his passport and his fiance visa (and plane ticket!) to get here.

What about his medical exam? Will he need to pay for that if he leaves after Jan. 14?...In the past it was paid when you received the Carta Blanca.

He'll be at the Special Interest Section asking a lot of questions today or tomorrow. They've now got his medical results, so he should be getting his visa this week. Neither of us is sure how the change in immigration law will affect the costs and procedures if he comes now. Although it's fairly well spelled out, it's still confusing because much of it has not yet been put into practice. The lack of information is so stressful!
