Dad can immigrate first under IR5 visa. After he gets his green card, he can file i-130 for his son.
Son will be under the F2A category (Unmarried Child below 21 of a Lawful Permanent Resident). Waiting time will be 2-3 years. He has to remain unmarried and not age-out.

Thanks f1junkie! How cool of you to find this! It seems they take longer to publish September bulletins. Let's see what happens tomorrow!

I'm going to be optimistic and say that it's probably a good sign they have not released the bulletin or sent interview letters yet. It's the end of the fiscal year and they are probably trying to meet the yearly quota. If they knew there was going to be no movement they probably would have released it by now.

Late interview letters and bulletin, one can only hope it's because they are too busy printing new letters and reviewing cases has caused major delays. Com'on, Miguel, just do it!!

They usually start sending interview letters about 2 weeks before the bulletin is published. But they change this all the time. I remember that once or twice they sent the letters after the bulletin was published. And sometimes they send them about 3 weeks before it is published. Last time I think they sent them earlier than usual. In short, one never knows what to expect!

Be patient guys, I 'm felling positive of movement in next vb also. Even in past few months, letter have been sent out closely with the official VB bulletin. .

There is nothing in the last vb that indicated that we would be experiencing delays. + 5 weeks movement is coming guys stop stressing yourself. Remember for our cat we on average tend to get ILs on or after the 1st of each month. This is nothing new you people with PDs september & 1st week in Oct will deff get ils soon.
I am feeling very positive about this next Vb.

The F2B folks have recieved letters, apparently. Movement for them of up to one month, at least. Where's ours?! The only F1 so far that received letters were puppyluv and maramr whose PD were already current from the last bulletin.
