It is actually more about local USCIS office than the type of visa (the VJ processing times table is the evidence to that). Wiss is with Denver office that just began reviewing March petitions.

I am not sure what 2 months wait time Darnell referred to, but my case--similar to yours--appears to go the same route as anybody else's AOS filed concurrently with I-131 petition goes--without any delays or expedition. First, you submit almost the same docs with USCIS for AOS packet that you filed with your I-130 and with NVC (actually USCIS requires even less documents than NVC does). So there is no need for the USCIS to request your case from the NVC. Second,, your IR1 is absolutely separate process. For instance, in our case, while we have been waiting for the AOS approval, NVC scheduled an interview for our IR5 visa, which we did not attend due to AOS process.
So far what I see, I-131 approval received prior to AOS package submission definitely does not expedite your AOS process.

OlenkaKyiv got a reaction from manny11 in IR5 - Received NOA2 - Change of address before NVC
I had the same issue. NVC will not update your address until a case number is assigned (now it takes about 42-49 days). You do not need to notify USCIS since the case is not in its transition to the NVC. Keep calling NVC and check for a case number. NVC never responded to my email about change of an address. I have called the NVC a few days after the case number has been assigned, provided my new postal address (they still had my old address despite my email request to change) and email address for both agent and beneficiary. Despite the fact that I have changed address on the phone with NVC as soon as the case number was assigned, NVC still sent a correspondence to my old postal address. However, since I provided NVC with my email address, I did not miss any NVC correspondence, since I have been receiving the correspondence over email.
In brief, do not spend your time on sending emails to NVC or USCIS, just keep calling NVC and try to catch the date when NVC assigns a case number.
