I suggest you wait to file until you are within 6 months of returning. If in Shanghai you can do a DCF which speeds up the process greatly. Only issue might be getting the Visa for her to stay in China for an extended period of time. But if you are married before your ex-pat assisgnemnt you should be able to get her an extended stay visa.

For your long term health I would suggest the UK. We just spent 11 months in Shanghai and the air pollution in the winter is horrible. Even in the summer the air pollution is much worse than in the US. Look up the Shanghai US consulate PMI 2.5 monitoring station. that alone should scare you away from Shanghai.

do not worry about the text/email. Sometimes it never arrives.

If possible I would go there for the interview. If the CO is on the edge about approval it might just relieve a little of his doubt if she shows up with your passport on top with the Evolution of relationship letter in it.

White book with her Birth Cert translated into English. Should be able to get that the same time as the Divorce Decree. You should wait on the medical check until you have the interview date. Every document will have to be translated into English and put into a "White Book".

The white books are just the Divorce decree, and birth information with Govt stamps on them with the translation to English in the back.

I suggest that you send a few letters via snail mail have her keep the letters and envelops. You can send them at the cheap rate and they will have plenty of time to arrive. It will just give you more evidence of relationship for the interview. Not necessary but the more information that you can use to prove the relationship the better.

Just curious why go K1? The CR1 cost a lot less in the long run. I went with K1 and wish that we would of gotten married in China and gone the other way. Would of saved us a lot of money and hassle once she was in the states.

My wife and I just returned to the states after a 10 month stay in China, We showed them her Chinese passport, Reentry permit and her GC, no trouble at all,. For a normal trip you do not even need the reentry permit we did that due to the length of stay exceeding 6 month's.

If you are worried take a copy of the your marriage license with you. That will show you changing your name.

Her family can only come for the wedding if they all get tourist visa's.

Honestly your best bet would be to get married in China and file for a marriage visa. It costs less long term and she will have a 2 year GC and SS card within a few weeks of entering the country.

If she has a good friend that owns a business just give the friend the money to put in the system until she is vested. then when she can apply come back to China do all of the paperwork and have the money deposited into her Chinese bank..

get the his commanding officer involved thru the proper military channel. Hopefully they can help him to do the correct thing.

K1 usually does not require an interview for the AOS.

Always fight a traffic ticket.

Odds are you can get the ticket reduced if the officer does not show up. Worst case is you lose a little time while attending the court appearance. I would suggest that you have your spouce study traffic laws here. If there are points involved you can have your spouce take a defensive driving course that should remove or reduce the points from the ticket.

I really doubt it will have any effect on the AOS or EAD.

Without knowing more about your situation there is no way to even guess at an answer

When your NOA arrives it will extend the GC expiration for I think 1 year. Just make sure that you make copies and have them on hand if needed. If you are going to travel while the process is ongoing make an Infopass appointment and get an I-551 stamp put in his passport.

Wifi is your best bet. But I am sure that she will be able to borrow a phone for a minute to let you know she arrived. I am sure like operator said that there will be someone on the plane will be a Chinese immigrant and will let her use their phone.

Yes file a DCF with the consulate in Mexico, The whole process can be accomplished in 4-6 month's.

When she arrives and you get married file for AOS and apply for advance parole/ EAP card. Until this card arrives she should not under any circumstance leave the country. Once the AP/EAD combo card arrives then go on the cruise as a late honeymoon.

I forgot to mention that I think you can have the biometrics done in Buffalo if you do the infopass appointment. Even if your appointment says a different location.
