  1. Hi Everyone,

I have been reading this thread ever since my husband was put on AP on the 6th of December at London Embassy. It has been a really tough week and ofcourse not knowing the nature of it made us hope that it just a quicky check thing and will be over in a couple of days. However, I don't feel so bad seeing that there are many others in my situation. I pray for all of us everytime I think about this AP thing. I understand what you all are going through. My husband and I both are originally from Bangladesh and my husband does not have a common name. I wish we knew why he was put in AP. Nothing was said. Called DOS pretty much everyday - same answer - pending.

Glad we can talk about this and share our feelings here.

iA it will be over someday very soon. Keep praying.

  2. Thanks so much!! I think I'm a little freaked out because Buffalo has had such a mild winter so far that people have been saying it's going to get really nasty around that time.

And wasn't it around that time last year that the East Coast went into meltdown?

Wouldn't mind being holed up in the Hilton though... :)

What do you think Maya? Are we in for a rough winter??

That's actually not a bad idea to stay in a hotel if you get into Boston late. But if you are in by late afternoon I wouldn't mind the drive. Ofcourse we will have snow (prolly at least 6-8 inches) in Feb but I wouldn't be so freaked out. Remember, it is normal for us to drive in that much snow, make sure you rent a smaller SUV. You will be good to go. Keep us in your prayers girlfriend. Hubby is still hanging in AP, has been a week yesterday, it is very frustrating and driving us insane.

  3. I think you'll be a-okay!

I'm getting a little nervous about our flight out at the beginning of February. I keep telling GH as long as we make it into Boston okay I'll rent a car and barrel on through to Buffalo!! It's the right time of year (end of Jan beginning of Feb) for everything to go belly-up weather wise in the Buff. If we can just make it in on the 2nd, I don't care if all hell breaks loose on the 3rd (at least my folks have a generator) :) :)

So are you pretty much all packed and ready to go?? x

Hehe you are funny! Are you sure you won't be too tired to drive for 7 hours after the long flight? As long as you both are together nothing really matters. You will be coming home. One more thing, this week's forecast says that it will be high 40's. Jealous yet? Lol just teasing you. You have safe travels ahead too :)

  4. I fly on Saturday and I'm petrified of what's going on outside. I don't want to be suspended in the air with all this wind and rain!!

Who else is flying soon? When are you booked for? My weather actually says there's only a 10% chance of rain, although it's barely going to be above freezing so I'm worried it might snow.

    [/quote

Have a safe journey! And you will be fine, this year has been good so far weather wise. :)

  5. We're trying to find my husband's Alien Registration Number, but we're unsure where to look... on the stamped/printed "visa" that they put in his passport, they have a field marked "Annotation" and there's an A followed by 9 numbers. Is this it??

It should be written in your passport too. I can't remember the page number but it will be on the page where they stamp upon your POE. It starts with an A.

  6. I'm sorry to hear this Maya :(

I know it's not what you want to hear, but it WILL pass and you WILL be reunited. In January I received devastating news that I had to come home to apply, and I remember thinking it would be a lifetime of agony. Granted, it wasn't all plain sailing but it looks like the day is almost here now, and when I think of it, 2011 flew by!

Hey! I know - it is the most longest day for me at work today. I read all the posts from people that were in AP (Additional processing) and no one knows how long it could take. Could be months after months they say. Greatly dissapointed. I don't understand why they have to call you in for an interview and then hand you a piece of paper just to say " we need addtional processing", well then do it before you play with people's lives. Gets me mad.

Oh well. I am glad you are making progress with your passport situation. Have a wonderful time and get home safe.

Maya, I'm really sorry to read this! Hopefully, as the others have said, it's just a case of the embassy doing a few more checks and he will be all set to reunite with you :) Try not to get too down (I know that is easier said than done).

I'm trying hard to stay calm. Thanks for ur msg.

  7. Sorry you were not expecting this and got a huge disappointment. It happens in London all the time for non-UK born. There is NO way to speed it up or know how long. The consulate can't tell you something they don't know.

I've written about this many times, so to save time here's a link to one of the posts explaining in more detail what I know. http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/338074-fiance-went-for-interview-today-case-under-review/page__p__5002917#entry5002917

Hey thanks for the link. It is very helpful.

  8. Hi Maya, I'm so sorry for your outcome. We had the exact same thing happen to us in Montreal on Friday (although my husband is born/raised Canadian, so we can only speculate on the reason for AP). It is so disheartening, so frustrating, so maddening. You think you've come all this way, and boom! We must wait even longer! I just wanted to throw in my support and sympathy.

I appreciate your support. We need it. Although, you guys are making me feel a little better about this whole situation. I hope the wait goes fast.

  9. If that is case, since he is from Bangaldesh, then they have to do name check, other verification process. Since everything was okay with interview, and once the AP is done, then he will get the visa. It may take around 4 months or so. Honestly it really depends up to case to case. Will suggest you to follow up the embassy for the same, and see what you can do to get the things done quickly.

Will be praying for you guys.

Thank you so much. The wait is unbearable but that is all we can do at this point.

  10. Strange for UK. Did he ask them about the possible reasons? Is he born in UK? or in different country?

It may take few months or so. Timeframe is not predicted for AP ( Based on case to case ).

Well, we both are from Bangladesh and we got married in Canada because it was easier for both of us to held the marriage ceremony there since he had Canadian visa. He has been living in the UK for last 6 years. He said, they asked him questions about our wedding and all and the documents he took with him was sufficient. So no documents needed.

  11. Hi All,

So my husband had his interview in London this morning, and after a 10 min long interview they hand him a blue form which says no document needed but they need to do an additional processing, and once it is done they will contact him so then he can send his passport in. They handed his passport back to him. We both are very sad and did not expect this at all.

Does any one have any idea how long this AP thing take in London embassy?

    Thanks.

  12. She's circled that my visa was refused, and also the bit that says I could overcome the refusal by submitting more documents, then on the back she's circled passport - the reason is that it was washed and isn't neat enough to put a visa in.

So is this good news? Or is there a chance they'll receive the new passport and be like, "Naaahh, still not approving you."?

Also, not to scare anyone, but I got GRILLED! For a few moments I thought I was poo out of luck. Reason was cos I spent 5 months in Mexico.

It is a good news! Congratulations! Just expedite your passport service and you will be all set to go. It is over finally.

  13. She asked how we met.. online, she said what attracted you to him? the question suprised me but i said he looked amazing in his army uniform... made her laugh... asked where will we live.. she asked if he had custody of hs children, and he did. Asked how long he served in army and what he did now for a job... that was it!!1 everything i had been thnking they would ask they didnt

Congrats! I started my day with lots of good news from VJers today! I hope I can share a good news next week as well!

Good luck with your travels now :)

  14. Save yourself the bother. They WILL NOT look at it in London. Positive. No proof of your relationship needed. Zero. Zip. No Skype, photos, sky calls or emails.

Worry about having the right kind of birth certificate and a passing I-134 Affidavit of Support and anything else on their list that applies to you. That is all they want to see.

On your first question...have you ever been married? If so then a divorce decree to prove you are not married anymore.

Thank you for your post. I feel much better. My husband has been printing all the documents to show our ongoing relationship which is a lot to take with. So, when you say I-134, is that same as I-864? That is the form (affidavit of support) where you show your income and all, and attach your tax returns, w-2, paystub, etc. If that so, then we already submitted those. We were thinking just incase take copies with him at the interview. And about the birth certificate the ambassy already have the original, do we still need to take a copy of it? The interview is on Tuesday. Thank God!

  15. First off : On the subject have your NVC Case number GUZXXXXXX - Corrections

" If I were you I would do this "

    Dear Sir/Madam,

    Please disregard my previous email.

    Thank you

    Regards,

    Your Name

The DS3032 form is found online. You don't have to ask them if you can submit it online. It should be available to you once you pay that AOS fee I believe. Once you send it online, again put your case number on the subject line, you can check with NVC in two business days just to confirm that they got the email.

Since every thing is online you really don't have to mention about you/your wife staying in Canada. As far as interview goes - you will have to speak to a live person on that matter. Hope this helps!

    Good Luck

  16. Hi everyone,

Thanks for all your good lucks! The interview went Ok, except they were apparently missing one part of the affidavit (which we defiantly sent) so I don't know if it got mislaid but we have to send it in again and then we should be all set. So it's been very busy trying to get it couriered over to me so i can courier it to them asap. So not quite the outcome we hoped but, nearly there. Just a little frustrating as we went over everything a hundred times and the agent seemed to look over it for about 10 seconds. But the additional paperwork they need will be with them on Tuesday, and she said once they have received that there should be no problems. Just need to find out what kind of timeframe we are looking at...

Hope everyone is having better luck than us!

I am really sorry to hear this. I could see you being mislead just beacuase we found out yesterday that we need to obtain one more doc which was never asked before and is not even in the checklist that they send along with the interview letter. Not feeling up for any of this anymore - so down. I am assuming the ambassy already got your missing affidavit. Right? Do you know when you will hear back from them? My prayers are with you Holly - just so you know, you are not alone. I feel your pain.
