my fiance wasnt with me for the interview and i was approved ;as for the affidavit of support i dont really think they care about how much its your bank account, they care more about you having regular income ( paycheck above poverty line). i say this because my fiance had a very substantial figure in his savings( more than 6 times whats required for the poverty line) but he didnt have a regular paycheck because he just got out the military and was going to school. I was scheduled for a second interview to bring a co sponsor because they said just having savings wasnt enough( though through his bank statements you were able to see the money didnt just drop in miraculously before our interview but it still didnt matter). I say if in doubt get a cosponsor because the second interview set us back about two months for something we could have easily gotten had we known. Good luck my dear! patience is key

they keep both. they give birth cert and other documents back to you when you pick up the visa

thats odd, they seem to do most of their things through email. i would email them to verify this. dont trust it

Try going to a Ghanaian Embassy and see how organized and professional that place is operated. Does Ghana have a K1 Fiancé Visa program? NO, only the evil US has that program. Being allowed into the US to join a Fiancé is a PRIVILEGE, and one that not many countries reciprocate and offer to Americans (Including Ghana).

i wasnt disrespecting the whole country as a whole( i would never do that as my soon to be husband put his life on the line fighting for that country and i wouldn't insult him by insulting a land he loves so much) so if thats what offended you sorry but i was frustrated as this process has been very emotional and ready for it to end. i dont know how far you are in the process but you should understand. This was my view of that particular CONSULATE and you dont have to agree because me and you are not the same people. My fiance flew down here so we can travel together then had to return without me because our visa pick up date was seven weeks after our approval date and now this so sorry if i wasnt all cheery. second if you can get my hunny to agree to leave the Navy and move to ghana id id gladly stay here. I am a very established woman in my country and im not in a rush to flee my country like most think about everyone not living in the US, i just happen to fall in love with an American

i am so sorry hun. No one deserves that and is he crazy..you are absolutely gorgeous. this makes me really upset because the emotional toil and probably spent to get him there was probably a lot. I really hope you find love and definitely report him! You cant treat people anyhow and get away with. so sorry. it might not help but i thinks its better you found out now than later

i laugh at this because someone always have to be high and mighty. im not sure what stage you are in the process( if your finished congrats). you am hoping have some experience with how emotional is already without having to add things like this to. im not attacking america as a whole( my husband to be his life on the line fighting for that country), just that consulate, so i woldnt do that because with all the problems have i would still feel defensive if someone attacked my count. This is my experience, i was annoyed about it especially after waiting 7 weeks and if you don't think my emotion is reasonable then thats you, me and you my darling are not the same people

U r almost done with ur process my case just got to ghana they keep telling me they r waiting for the hard copy I havent gotten packet 3 or 4 do u mind helping me through this process. My husband is in the ghana army and its finally now time for him to resign so we r lost ad to what hapens next. I called the embassy there and a girl keeps saying to email abd they dont have any information she is working the switchboard. I tried my best to remain calm and told her shes working there to switch me to someone to help im losing my mind and we havent even started yet In gh can u please give me some pointers to make this process go a little faster.

email ivdvaccra (at..the at button is not working on my work computer) . gov and they will give you a time to pick up the packet. youll receieve packet 3 and 4 together

sorry foe the late response..weve had no power in my house . some people wer able to pick up their visas and yes i wish they would treat us all with a little more sensitivity. This is stresssfull enough without them adding to it. im am just praying and hoping that wednesday bring about good news. i know its sad to say but i really dont any amount of letter will change anything( at least not at the consulate). i would say boycott them for a while so they see how much money theyd loose but lets be honest we all just want to get to all loved ones as soon as possible

so i went to pick up visa today and thanks to other reviews i was prepared for anything but preparation doesnt matter..i was very angry. There were about 200 people all waiting to get visas..so after waiting for about 6 hours to pick up my visa i was given yet another blue slip to come pick up my visa..the journey continues. i cant wait till i dont have to deal with this people anymore because theyre incompetent and disorganized and the worst part about it is their care free attitude about everything. your time means nothing to them!

i would def wait till he has visa in hand before purchasing tix..ghana consulate is very incompetent!!

omg reading this is giving me pressure. im suppose to pick up my visa on friday. honestly speaking the co i saw the 2nd time didnt seem so sure of herself, she had to ask someone else a few times what to do with the co sponsor document. God be with us all. let me know how it turns out

for me i took the completed form, my co sponsor wasnt originally born in the us so i took a copy of his naturalizations papers,a pay stub and tax transcripts for 2010 ( please note that they only accept tax TRANSCRIPTS) not returns, you can order these for free at irs.gov

hello al, i went to my second interview on friday because at my first interview i was asked to bring a co sponsor. they took the form and gave me a date to pick up the vis abut its two months away????..is that normal ( can people have gone through ghana embassy shed a little light). it took so long to write because my honey actually arrived on saturday so we've been a little busy:D. Thank you all for your help, reading some of your advise and the things you took with you to your interviews really helped us and if i can in any way provide any assistance for any one dont hesitate to ask. i will sit and post my timeline one of these days

Both reports take 2week after you're done. I prefer you go to akai Lab.

im not really sure where you would file..i will seek the aid of a lawyer just to be sure but once you start the actual process and need anything id be happy to help

yes fill it since they need the biographic to get ur finger prints on that day. with the interview it may seem backward but again yes that is what they want, so do it. Good luck, i hope ur date is early enough.

Nothing odd about it. You do need to fill out the biographic and bring it with you. As well as you do bring your application to the interview, they don't need it before that.

There was a time when package 3 and 4 were not given at the same time. So, the comment about filling out the form and returning it to get your interview date is just out dated for how things are done at the embassy in Ghana. Bring it all to the interview.

im new to this so im not sure exactly where to post this but i need some help. i went to the ghana consulate and was given package 3 and 4 together. In the package 3 it had biographic data that it claimed i must fill out and bring back in order to get my interview date; but my interview date was given in the same envelope( package 4 ) so do i still have to fill it out and return it? also it says to bring the visa application in on the day of the interview which seem odd to me. If any one who has gotten through the k1 visa through the ghana consulate can offer any help, it would be greatly appreciated. thank you guys so much for your time
