My wife's oath letter came today.  Her interview was on August 31 and they could not make a decision then.  They wanted more information to establish that we have a valid marriage.  We were disappointed, but provided about 90 additional pages of BS that show we share our lives with each other.  The local office received this on Sept. 18 and we received notice that she was approved that same day.  Her oath ceremony is next Wednesday, on Sept 27, it was real quick. But looking at the MSP Office, it is the last scheduled ceremony in 2017.  I wish those still waiting the best of luck.

Wow, that is real fast.  We have a few different friends in other states who got interviews within 4 to 5 months, they were also from Iran, so that certainly was not the issue in our case.  We just have to prove we have a valid marriage, I included everything I had (the same as for the removal of conditions) in the application.  We are struggling to come up with a lot to send back to them so they can make a decision.  In the worst case, we wait another year and file under the 5 year rule. but that would suck for my wife, as she is a Flight Attendant, he work is restricted to US and Canada right now because of her passport.  

My wifes PD was August 22. 2016, she was scheduled for the interview on August 31 2017.

I don't think the delay in our case had anything do do with my wife being from Iran.  I looked at the history of the interviews at MSP, saw that for the N-400 the number waiting was increasing faster than the numbers being processed and new it was going to be a wait.  Throughout this process, everything had gone smooth up to this point, our initial interview for the visa back in 2012 was delayed on our part so the initial visa took longer.  I think for the N-400 I made a mistake  by not proving a lot more material.  Now I have to find more proof, the list they provided was showing her on my lease or mortgage, but we are in no position to refinance our house, I purchased the home a few years before she come to the US. The other thing mentioned was actual cancelled checks from our joint checking account, which we don't even have checks issued since it is just used for the debit cards. We will figure it out though and make this happen.

WE have been dealing with the MSP Office.  We applied on August 20, 2016, finally had the interview today August 31, 2017.  The Interview resulted with no decision being made.  I need to proved more information of a joint life and marital status since we applied on the 3 year rule.  I am not sure what else we could have provided since we sent a lot of the same material we submitted for the ROC.  Our case was an IOE, and that is one reason why it took so long.  Now it will take even longer I guess.

And 375 days later we finally have an interview. August 31 cannot come soon enough., Damn, I realize I am wishing summer
is over too soon.

My wife is still waiting as an August 16 filer.  We did not even bother with an Infopass for her as we know that St. Paul is slower than molasses in January.  We are thinking we will get an interview in August or September.

The background checks/Police Checks are really for places your fiancee lived, not traveled too.  During our wait, my wife and I traveled to Dubai while waiting for the NVC to process the case, then my wife spent a month in Tajikistan for work while we were waiting for the interview.  Neither of these caused any delays nor were they issues during the interview.  I do believe the Dubai trip was helpful as it also showed more proof of relationship and a continuing relationship during the visa process.

I am so happy that a lot of you are seeing movement and getting interviews.  It looks like my wife still has a few more months to go, St. Paul is a little slower that everyone else .  We are planning a European vacation soon she needed to get a Schengen visa in the meantime.  Hopefully she will get an interview before the 1 year mark.  

I have a friend who when through Chicago for POE on February 24th.  She is from Iran.  Her visa was issued prior in early December.  She was coming on a CR1 visa and made it through with no real difficulties.  The only thing she mentioned to me was that she was confused about what to do and where to go and there was no one to answer any of her questions.  From the time the plane landed to when she appeared outside of the Customs area was 2 hours.  She did not face any additional screening.

But what exactly are the prior practices, I heard before the EO was announced that those from the 7 named countries were not being processed.  

When the forms ask for Native Language, also use the native language, for the signatures, it does not matter as long it is consistent. My wife always signed her name on all immigration forms using Roman alphabet. I have never asked her, but as elaborate as her signature is, I am sure she has been using it for a long time.

For her address, I had her email the address in farsi, then I carefully copied it into the forms. We did occasionally mail things back and forth, but most of the time we knew enough people traveling back and forth from Iran to the US and vis versa to enable us to exchange documents this way as well.

We received the NOA in the mail yesterday, 8/29, with a pieority date of 8/23 and NOA date of 8/25. I forgot to include the the G-1145 this time so I have to rely on notifications from the website. The NOA provided access to https://myaccount.uscis.dhs.gov/, which is where I found the notice for the Bio-Metrics when I created the account.

We almost have the same timeline. May I know when did you get your noa in mail? Did you get any e-notifications before?

I am the American in the marriage with an Iranian. I never even met my wife family nor did she meet mine. My families first time meeting her was the day she arrived in the US, I met my wife's family the first time 1 year later when I visited Iran. It was never an issue for us, nor asked about in the interview. Fortunately, both of our families were supportive.

Another option is to find some traveling from Iran to the US. My wife frequently uses this method to bring things to her sisters and they will send things to her in the same way.

DHL had a problem with the US Government, and they do not provide service between Iran and the USA anymore after they were sued. DHL still exists in Iran; but they do not service the USA.

I ship things and it usually takes at least six to eight weeks to send things between the US and Iran via USPS.

The other issue is that I need it now; rather then when some friend is traveling.

While DHL does not deliver to residents in the US, they do not have to the carrier of Delivery. There still is a DHL office at the local ariport where they transfer to another carrier for final delivery, in my case it was USPS. 6 to 8 weeks using USPS to deliver to Iran is insane, in 2013 I sent two packages and the longest was only 15 days.

DHL service from Tehran in Minneapolis, was 6 days when I needed signatures from my then fiance. When I needed to send something to her, it took about 14 days using USPS. Also, i sent many items, with people traveling to Iran, my wife did the same sending me things as well.

I have had 45 minute layover in Dubai before, flying Emirates. At the gate I was met by Emirate staff and escorted to the connecting flight, bags made it as well, The airlines know what you need and will help you make your connections. 3 hour is not a problem at all.
