My wife also just received her 10y green card! Been a long way to this but we are done until her N-400 if she wishes. We could never have made our way through the USCIS maze (craze) without this site. We received NOT ONE RFE. Could not have done it without everyone on VJ.
Thanks so much VJ and everyone who offered us advice.
Congrats!

Hi folks!
I got my 10 yr green card today (Thank you, Lord!). Well, we filed for AOS after our 2 yr wedding anniversary but we did not file for I-130. Another thing, the welcome letter says my card will expire in 2 years and will need to ROC 90 days before expiry. Now I dont know if I should ROC or not since I got 10 yr GC?
Thanks in advance!

Two of my friends did not see civil surgeon, they just sent copy of their vaccination records. They were approved without rfe. I didn't either but my gc is on the way.:-) I am so blessed, my med exam was more than 3 yrs ago but they didn't request for it.

Congrats to you both!
Thanks! :-)

Congrats! wow that was fast lol, We almost sent our AOS application at the same time, Wish I could get mine soon!
Thanks!I actually called them last August 17. The lady was very nice, she checked the processing time of our local USCIS office and she said it had been outside the processing time so that is probably why I got approved.
Congratulations
Thanks!

Card/ Document Production
On August 29, 2012, we mailed the new card directly to the address we have on file. You should receive your new card within 30 days. If you do not, or if you move before you get it, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283.
This step applies to applications that result in an applicant receiving a card (such as a "green card") or other document (such as a naturalization certificate, employment authorization document, travel document, or advance parole). Applications will be in this step from the time the order to produce the card/document is given until the card/document is produced and mailed to the applicant. You can expect to receive your card/document within 30 days of the approval of your application.
Thank you, Jesus!!!!

I checked quotes and it's not really that expensive. If granted, they will only stay here for a month.
Check the cost of Travel Insurance. It can be more than the airfare at that age.

How old is your mother in law? I am planning for my parents to apply for tourist visa. They dont have savings in the bank or properties but they are in their 70's. I think what the OP meant about "strong" is being physically strong.
You shouldn't focus too much on what the meaning of strong means in this case. Could be many.
Could be a simple opinion that she appeared to be a strong lady but CO regrets s/he must reject the visa.
Could be that she is a strong candidate for visa overstay.
Could be that CO felt s/he must reject this time but CO felt your mother is a strong candidate for next time after satisfying some requirements.
Strong could be a compliment regarding her physical appearance, simple conversation.
For Tourist visa your mother needs to respond to every question asked in such a way to give the CO the confidence that she will not and she will have no reason, circumstance, or temptation to overstay.
Recently my mother in law was approved for a tourist visa in Cambodia. I was lucky enough to be let in to the interview area but was not asked anything. She had answered some of the questions wrong. If I were the CO I probably would not have approved my mother in law's visa. However, her age helped her considerably and her reasoning to visit us and our newborn baby was compelling enough for the CO.

The thread above is about "pulled" affidavit of support. I have no idea what will happen to your husband's EAD.

I know this is a touchy subject for most and it is directly related to the petitioners income ... but I would be interested in if your Fiancee' is working and what you support her (on average) with financially. I see some Pinay come here in SoCal and just love all the name brand things and expensive accessories when most have come from less to do provinces.
Id say to each his own. I wouldnt mind how people spend their moneys and would care less where they come from. So women from a less to do provinces cant buy expensive accessories and name brand things? I dont see the logic.

Don't be too quick to judge. You wouldn't know if it's for herself or plans to give it away to people who lives in the streets. Who knows? As long as you don't know the person, you can leave your judgment to your self. And hey, wherever your money goes, aren't you happy you can help?
Or the car she was driving maybe not hers. :-)

Everybody knows babies are loud. What I don't get is why parents think other people should put up with them - and I am not even talking about babies crying for a specific reason (those can't be helped and it is no one's fault). I am referring to the cases - very much like this one -, when the parents feel entitled to ruin everyobody's silence because it is their baby.
I think you will never get it unless you become a parent( dont know if you are a parent). No parent would want their kids/babies to ruin other people's silence. That's why when my baby cries Id rush.to the windows and close them if they are open. Im sure, had the OP known that her baby was that loud she would have closed her windows. :-)

How's the weather there during winter ? Husband still undecided coz of some few reasons.
Winter can be cruel sometimes but last year, I could hardly feel it. :-)
-
My daughter actually sleep through the night already, she sleep from 9pm-6pm. She's actually a happy baby, and I guess she can laugh out loud anytime she want in our own property. Just too bad that our neighbor across the street can hear her and hates it .
She probably doesnt have kids that she doesnt understand babies can be loud sometimes.
-
I dont think your neighbor is a racist. She just doesnt like noise. I dont like those loud motorbikes too, but I just have to live with it, otherwise I would have to isolate myself in the wilderness if I could not tolerate them. :-) I have a 17 mons old baby. Sometimes, he wakes up in the middle of the night screaming for "baba" but Id rush to the windows and close it so he wont wake up the neighbors but I know there are times that even if the windows are close, the neighbors maybe still hear him. Im just probably lucky that our neighbors arent like yours. :-)
Btw, your baby is beautiful. If ur husband decides to accept a job offer in albany, and u want to make friends let me know. :-) wla me filipino friend dto. (Kung gusto mo lng hehe...:-) )
