  1. I'm a US citizen,I applied for a green card for my parent who is here on a now expired tourist visa. She had her biometrics In Novemeber 2015. Today I Checked and it says on the I-485 and I-130 receipt numbers that the case is approved and USCIS will send an approval notice. Does this mean that her interview was waived? Will the greencard be mailed? There was no update on her I-765 receipt number. Please advise.

  2. Hello I'm newly naturalized US citizen. I would like to sponsor my mother who is in the US already with a expired visa. My question is, I am not working, my husband works only and we meet the finances requirement to sponsor my mother but I don't know how to fill out the I-864? Can some please help me. What should I do since I don't have any income but I do file taxes together with my husband.

But this morning I received a text that my case is updated.but when i checked the website site its still has OATH LETTER HAS BEEN MAILED from last month. Is the journey over or more things are being added to my file. After oath ceremony do people still receive text? Any help will be kindlying appreciated.

Hello I had the same thing happen to me too. I received the text around 5:21am today, when did you receive yours? I had my oath ceremony last month too.

  4. Woke up at 6:30am this morning to make it to my interview at Federal Plaza. Didn't wait more than 10 mn and I was called in by a very clam and respectful lady. She made the interview go by as smooth as anybody would wish for.

I was not asked to present a state ID, only passport and GC. I got my past 3 year taxes together a couple of weeks ago so I did not have official IRS transcripts yet however I simply showed print-outs from the tax software I used and the corresponding amounts deducted from my bank statement showing that I paid all three years and it was totally acceptable.

The test was simple: What is the capital of New York? Who vetoes bills? What is an amendment? What is the supreme law of the land? Can't remember the rest.

I wish I knew how fellow Bahaboy looks like : ) I could have said hello. I hope you had a good experience as well.

Recommended for approval and waiting for the oath letter :)

    Best of luck folks.

Hey congratulations, did you recieve the oath letter the same day? If not how long did the io say to wait for the letter? Did you apply on the 3 year rule or 5 year rule?
  5. My interview is coming up soon, and I would like to know how I can update my application at the interview. I recieved a civil violation from the NYC transit MTA. It was a fine for $100 which I paid in November 2014 But I forgot to list on my application which I sent out in March 2015. There was no arrest just a ticket for non payment of fare,( I did pay the fare but my receipt must have fallen out when I was exiting the bus) This is my only ticket I have ever gotten in 14 years living in New York. Do I tell the io as soon as I enter his/her office or do I wait until after I am sworn into. Or should I wait until I reach to the question have you ever been cited, arested etc and say I have not been arrested but issued this civil violation? I have proof that the payment was made and recieved a letter of disposition from the MTA. Please help.

  6. Do I need a court disposition for a civil fine which I paid to NY transit? I paid for the fine online and called them and they provided me with a receipt and a statement stating that the violation was satisfied. It was a $100 fine. I received a fine because I couldn't find my receipt on a MTA bus. I didn't indicate this fine on the n400 form but I will at the interview.
