I have a close friend whose divorce waiver was denied because she didn't have enough evidence to support her application. Her husband left her and filed for divorce prior to removal of conditions. She has no evidence to support her marriage because he married her and left her almost immediately. What is her next step? And how long does is take to get a court date?

I'm a US citizen,I applied for a green card for my parent who is here on a now expired tourist visa. She had her biometrics In Novemeber 2015. Today I Checked and it says on the I-485 and I-130 receipt numbers that the case is approved and USCIS will send an approval notice. Does this mean that her interview was waived? Will the greencard be mailed? There was no update on her I-765 receipt number. Please advise.

I'm applying for my parent, she has biometrics a week ago, and I was wondering how long to receive the next notification after the biometric appointment.

I was looking at the form 864p and I'm not sure, please help. My family consist of me, my husband and our daughter. My mom will make 4, so do we need to make at least $30,312 to qualify? Also since my husband is the only one working I know he has to submit the I-864a but do we need to send tax transcripts and w2?

My mother entered the U.S. 14 years ago on a b1/b2 tourist visa which is now expired and she has a I94.
I recently became a naturalized U.S. Citizen and would like to know can I apply for her green card?
What questions might she be asked at the interview?

Hello I have my oath ceremony coming up in U.S. district court in Brooklyn, does anyone have any experience here? How long was the Ceremony?
Also do we sign and fill out the N-445 form before attending the ceremony or at the ceremony? I would to fill it out and sign the morning of my ceremony to save time.
Thanks so much!

No. Many people have been naturalized and travel on US passports for decades without updating their Social Security.
But you should update your status with Social Security every time your immigration status changes.
Thank you for your reply!

I was wondering if you need to update your social security number first before applying for a U.S. Passport?

Thanks everyone

Hey congratulations, did you recieve the oath letter the same day? If not how long did the io say to wait for the letter? Did you apply on the 3 year rule or 5 year rule?Woke up at 6:30am this morning to make it to my interview at Federal Plaza. Didn't wait more than 10 mn and I was called in by a very clam and respectful lady. She made the interview go by as smooth as anybody would wish for.
I was not asked to present a state ID, only passport and GC. I got my past 3 year taxes together a couple of weeks ago so I did not have official IRS transcripts yet however I simply showed print-outs from the tax software I used and the corresponding amounts deducted from my bank statement showing that I paid all three years and it was totally acceptable.
The test was simple: What is the capital of New York? Who vetoes bills? What is an amendment? What is the supreme law of the land? Can't remember the rest.
I wish I knew how fellow Bahaboy looks like : ) I could have said hello. I hope you had a good experience as well.
Recommended for approval and waiting for the oath letter
Best of luck folks.

My interview is coming up soon, and I would like to know how I can update my application at the interview. I recieved a civil violation from the NYC transit MTA. It was a fine for $100 which I paid in November 2014 But I forgot to list on my application which I sent out in March 2015. There was no arrest just a ticket for non payment of fare,( I did pay the fare but my receipt must have fallen out when I was exiting the bus) This is my only ticket I have ever gotten in 14 years living in New York. Do I tell the io as soon as I enter his/her office or do I wait until after I am sworn into. Or should I wait until I reach to the question have you ever been cited, arested etc and say I have not been arrested but issued this civil violation? I have proof that the payment was made and recieved a letter of disposition from the MTA. Please help.

Hello is it ok if I print the tax transcript on the irs website or do I need them to be mailed directly to my address from the IRS? I know I need them for my interview.

Hi all my interview is coming up and wanted to know what I should bring? I'm applying based on marriage to a U.S. citizen after 3 years.

I just got my interview date for July in Federal plaza in Manhattan. I thought that I would be in the Holtsville NY office, since this is where we went for Adjustment of status application. Is this normal?
-
Does the benefit center schedule the interview or does your field office do it?

Hi I had my biometric on April 2, and received in line notification on April 6. When do you receive the yellow letter?
-
Yes a selected bus, i didnt know that, until I did some researching after I submitted my n400 application. What should I do now?
-
No I didn't mention it, I didnt know That it was a citation

Do I need a court disposition for a civil fine which I paid to NY transit? I paid for the fine online and called them and they provided me with a receipt and a statement stating that the violation was satisfied. It was a $100 fine. I received a fine because I couldn't find my receipt on a MTA bus. I didn't indicate this fine on the n400 form but I will at the interview.
