  1. Ok, we just want to make sure we have the correct police check. My fiance went to the Hamilton Police Station and requested the CIPC. He received it in the mail a couple of days ago, and he just wants to make sure he doesn't need to request a different police check from when he lived in Toronto. I think his confusion is because on the bottom of the form he received it says National Repository for Criminal Records in Canada. He has only lived in Hamilton and Toronto, and I understood that if you request the Canada wide police check, that was sufficient. Does that one include local police records as well? Thanks to the Canadian peeps   :help:

  2. Hello Guys!

Well, I would like some tips, words of support or even anything I can do to be as early as possible in the United States.

My case is a bit complicated (someone will say, "we all have problems and go through difficult times and want to be with our love." That is quite true ... if anyone says it, I'll understand perfectly. Of course I would love that my case be speeded up so that I had with my wife as soon as possible because I feel so much the lack of her and have been almost 6 months that we are far from each other.

But is not the "simple" fact of longing that I feel for her that makes me think to accelerate our process, but she is pregnant, exactly six months pregnant or 26 weeks of gestation to be more precise. I feel that I will not have my visa approved until February (the month that will give birth to our little girl) And then? how is this situation? She needs a lot of me next to her so I can assist her in these difficult times not only in the day to be born, but now with the pregnancy, doctors and many other things. It has been hard days, and of course we keep our faith and hope for a visa to come soon, but I have not even NOA2 and according to the VJ TIMELINE I'll just have NOA2 in January. It is quite complicated! I do not know how I would feel if my daughter was born and I can not stand next to her and beside my wife. It's not simply say to yourself "Oh, patience! Life is like that!" BECAUSE IT IS NOT LIKE THAT! Of course it affects us emotionally, that's simply the loss of a special date and VERY IMPORTANT. Who has children knows how it should be special and be there when born, must be an amazing and unique moment in someone's life.

All I want is to be there with her and our daughter, I do not care about the visa process, but this is not possible so far, for so much paperwork. But still I would like to do something to be there, I will not just sit and cross my arms like a loser!

If someone, by chance, suggesting a tourist visa ... I tell you that this is not possible because I will be visa denied.

Anyway, I would like help from someone who has had a case similar to ours!

    I ask you comprehension.

    Thank you!

Why are you so sure your tourist visa will be denied? Of course we all understand that you want to be with your pregnant wife, but realistically, the pregnancy could have been prevented.

  3. Trying to finish Packet 3....this form asks for exact dates of previous employment. The other forms only asked for month and year, so this hasn't been an issue as of yet. He can't remember the exact day he started at his previous jobs (about 10 of them). Some of them are even out of business now-any advice would be very much appreciated! :help::help::help:

  4. ... given all that 'bad-mouthing/bashing' of the uscis.gov website and it's dsy-function,... For those of you who have received the NOA2 over the past few months, (and, perhaps looking ahead... to those who will receive in the next few months) {hopefully, including me!} [and dan].....

    Here's the Survey Question:

Did you first receive your NOA2, by

    1) text

    2) email

    3) snailmail

    4) other? I can't think of 'other', but it's early and maybe I'm leaving something out.

We registered for text and email alerts, but didn't get them :bonk: I checked the USCIS website one day and saw the dot had moved, and then I got the hardcopy 4 days later. Waiting for NOA2 sucks-but when you do receive it, it is the best feeling in the world!! Good luck

  5. It could not have been easier entering through Newark POE. Emma was all the way through customs and out the door to me in under 40 minutes from the time the plane reached the gate.

She went through the visitors line because it looked to be shorter than the USC line, was taken immediately to the secondary processing for new immigrants, and waited less than ten minutes to get her passport stamped. She was asked no questions whatsoever by the first CBP agent--she just handed him the package and her passport, and no questions from the agent in secondary processing, and no questions going through customs, even though she had two GIANT suitcases plus a carry on plus a computer bag.

The only disappointment if you want to call it that is that the I-551 stamp is so tiny--we had both imagined some big, fancy stamp taking up the whole page, but no--tiny is fine !!!

She is home, we are doing all the little things that need to be done to get ready for winter, and life is REALLY, REALLY good !!!

Awwwww, isn't nice to be in each other's arms for good?!! (L) (L) (L)

  6. Hello, all :) I've been confusing myself a bit with all the fees involved with the K1. Can you tell me if this is accurate?

    I-129F - $340

    Interview Fee - ~$300

    AOS - $1010

    Work Authorization - $380

Plus travel fees to the interview/medical

We're trying to budget for the wedding, too, so it'd be very helpful to understand if I'm in the ballpark with these fees!

Thanks in advance - this site and you are SO helpful! :)

Cheryl, the interview fee for a K1 visa is $350. Average fee for the medical is around $275.

  7. People...I have just recently known na i was supposed not to open the sealed CD that was given to me by St lukes..I just got done with my interview and am waiting for my visa already..I have opened it na, coz I tried to watch it..and then, people say that it will be needed for the AOS?? since, i have opened the sealed CD, will I have problem with the AOS then? or even with just the POE?? I just cant help but worry about having it opened..should this really be a worry that I opened the x-ray CD? what can I do?? People, I need your response.. :( especially to those who are done with the POE thing/AOS din..Thank you!!

From reading similar posts, it seems that is ok. It isn't marked "Do Not Open", only the medical results. You should be fine-but don't let curiosity get the best of you-opened medical results will be a HUGE problem.

  8. You need to go to the Thai forum and read their accounts. Our embassy is in Canada, and when we go in for the interview, there are forms that are needed-as well as police check, birth certificate, proof of relationship, financial records, etc....And your attorney is wrong-there is a $350 visa fee that has to be paid. Some embassies allow you to pay the visa fee at the time of interview, some make you pay beforehand. I hope this helps-good luck to you both!

Our Interview is December 13 and we are trying to get things together. We have a Physical sheduled for Nov. 18th. Our Lawyer is saying that is all we need but Isn't there more forms and fees to pay. I Hope I don't sound nuts but my lawyer hasn't exactly been a great help.

Can anyone please give me an Idea of what else we need besides the physical, Pictures, Phone bill, E-mails and internet chat logs.

I would hate to have gotten this far and loose out beacause we left something out.

  9. We aren't far behind you! We are waitng to be logged in so thatthrm starting this thread for all those who have just recently gotten to the packet #4 /ready to schedule interview phase. I thought that it would be nice to keep each other informed if any openings occur and to possibly help each other out, when any openings are posted. Like many of our fellow VJ's from the previous months have done, specifically for the Montreal Consulate.

I want to personally thank all of you for your input & experiences regarding your visa journey. You helped us -( My Finacee and I) save at least a month of waiting already. She received packet #4 /letter in the mail today EVEN though packet #3 was supposed to have been mailed out about 4- 5 weeks ago - (still never received it as of today). We took you advise & experiences and filled them out ourselves and sent them in,like many of you suggested to do. We actually sent them in the copies of the required forms DS 156,156K etc. and not just the checklist & DS 160 confirmation page as others have done, in case anyone was wondering. We did this because we have read on here that some of you were being delayed or even requested to actualy provide copies those other forms with the packet 3.

Now comes the "FUN PART" trying to actually schedule the interview. When I hear of any openings, I will post here as soon as I can. For some of my fellow May or June filers, let's hope that they don't slow down to much during the next couple of months to focus on the other visa types, which I know that they do, but keep those k-1 & k-3's going. For those who are in between NAO2 & packet 3 , keep the faith & be positive it will happen for you soon enough. Good luck to all !!!!

We aren't too far behind you!! Just waiting to be logged in the system so we can mail Packet 3. Good luck scheduling, and thanks for starting this thread!
  10. Start getting your packet 3 stuff together if you haven't already :-) Congrats!

He is sending off for his police check today-he was told it would take approx. 2 weeks to arrive. We've already got our forms prepared, and we are so excited knowing we will be able to TRY to schedule an interview soon, lol. It's our understanding Montreal is pretty slow :bonk: Many thanks for the well wishes

    Congrats on your progress!

Thank you so much!! Here's to a speedy NOA2 for you :star:

Congratulations!!!

Thanks!!! Looks like you are just ahead of us-have you received packet 3 yet? Good luck and congratulations to you as well

    Congraulations!

    Awwww, thanks Leather!!

  11. Ok, so I have questioned the NVC before, but I am soooo tired of waiting! They received our petition on October 10, and logged it into their system on October 18. I have been calling every day to see if it has been forwarded on to the consulate. During one of the phone calls, a gentleman told me that after the petition has been logged, it is generally sent out within 72 hours. I was excited after hearing that, but now, well......it's been a little longer than the 72. I am so thankful to have VJ to vent to, lol. The waiting is so hard for all of us, but it is nice to get tips and comments from other members. Thanks for listening to me rant today :bonk:

  12. RCMP police certificates cover all of Canada. He can go to his local RCMP detachment and fill out the request. It only takes about 10 days. Some cost $50.00 some are free. I had one done at the local police station and it cost $50.00 while the RCMP report was free. If you need it sooner you can request it but there may be a fee.

    Thanks!

  13. Hi everyone!! We have been reading different posts regarding police checks from Canada. My fiance has lived in Toronto and Hamilton. Will he need a police check from each city, as well as from RCMP? We keep reading conflicting info. Also, do you inquire for these in person, phone, or online, and how long can we expect it to take? Thanks for any advice!!

  14. Hello, my fellow, beautiful, and wonderful V.Jer's.

Yes! It's true we have been APPROVED - today!!!!

OMG!!! I am so happy. In shock, but happy. I really want to say that being on this forum and having so many people in the same boat has been the greatest support. Thank you all so much, for listening, giving advice and generally sharing.

    We did it! Yay!

I will update my timeline soon.

    YAY!!!!!!!!!!

WOOHOOOOOO!!! Sincere congratulations for you both-waiting for NOA2 can seem like an eternity!! :D:dance:

  15. I am so sorry to hear this! Unbelievable-I don't have any words of wisdom for you, but you are certainly a lovely person, and I have a feeling you will heal from this and find someone who is deserving of you.

After 4 years of driving back and forth to Canada every Sunday to be a wife to my Egyptian husband.. He now has dropped me and moved on to a Canadian Arabic woman for Canada residency.

Long story but I will try to be brief

Husband waited in Montreal Canada while US spousal visa was being processed

I drove almost every Sunday...(5 hours) alternating week in Canada to be wife to my husband

(and complete things for Visa process) and week in NY to work and maintain home

Everything approved until Interview... interview approved but when finger printed it was found that he had been deported from US and was not to return for 5 or 10 years but he did 3 or 4 times he was denied and

Issued 601 Waiver to submit... took about 8 months for me to complete and almost 2years to process.

( within 36 hours of contacting the senator's office Waiver was denied. Appeal was granted to submit due to

VSC not following procedures submitted Jan 2010) April 2010 notification from VSC received and sent to Appeals

Last touch Oct 2010 and nothing!!!)

While in appeal seems husband was searching other options fearing there would be no US approval.

(he starting having issues with me saying he now wants children and I can not have any.. asked me to accept him having another woman for child and Immigration back up... 2nd woman may be ok in Egypt but I can not accept)

Within 4 months his family & friends hooked him up with Canadian Arabic woman from Tunisia.

He moved her in and I was out. It seems he can get residency in Canada by simply showing they have lived together for one year. (The woman I feel for because he lied and told her we were divorced and then when I informed that we were not then he said "in process of divorce. I have even found proof he was seeing her and I the same time)

My opinion is they are committing Immigration fraud... first they lied about time they have been together, lied and did not disclose his marriage to me because he would have to give them divorce decree..

To make matters even better for me I have received telephone calls from Canada Bell - $444 for internet and Hydro - $630 for heat & electric... they are running bill in my name and not paying them... Even though I have contacted them several times to disconnect my name... they tell me current resident has to call and approve in their name... Yeah right they are gonna call and say hey we have been using not her sorry we owe you $$

    Thoughts, opinions, advise?????

I am so trying so very very very be a decent person and not want revenge right now!!!!

    I just dont get people sometimes :{

    Thanks for listening

  16. Based on my personal experience, and those of several others communicated in separate posts, there are two "AP's" 1.ADDITIONAL PROCESSING - which is the normal processing that the NVC does to send the documents to the local embassy, and 2.ADMINISTRATIVE PROCESSING - which means they are performing some additional checks on the petition. The latter being the type of AP that can take from now to eternity.

I called NVC because it was taking a long time for us to get notified with our MNL case number. For a couple of weeks they did not have record of receiving our petition....so I called every few days. Finally they told me they had received the petition and that it was "going through ADDITIONAL PROCESSING." I said "oh sh*t, what's wrong? ...then after i apologized to the CS rep, she said "Don't worry, nothings wrong, all petitions go through ADDITIONAL PROCESSING it's just a term for readying the package to be sent to the embassy."

5 days later the embassy recieved the package.

If you search the forums using those two keywords, you'll see others that say the same thing......So don't worry, your petition will be sent soon I believe.

    Good luck...and keep us posted.

Oh my gosh!! Thank you so much for posting on this-you have no idea how relieved we are!!:yes:
