  1. Ours was:

Bio. Appt. :2012-03-09Approved Date :2012-04-11Date Card Received :2012-04-20

Also we didn't wait until the appointment date for our Biometric. We went down there as soon as we got the appointment letter. Showed them the NOA1 and they let us right through. We also took someone last week who did the same thing. When they asked why we came early we just told them we had a day off and it would really help out. They sent us through and it took 10 minutes.

Thanks! well will still go there on our Appointment date since my Husband has his day off on that date =) Thanks for the info!

  2. Did you fulfill the vaccination requirements when you went to the panel physician for the K1 medical?

You should have a copy of all of your vaccinations with you. If you have fulfilled the requirement and the panel physician checked them off, then nothing else needs to be done. It is in the medical record.

If, you have not fulfilled the vaccination requirement, you will need to go to a civil surgeon and have them complete the form for you and send in the sealed envelope. The problem is most civil surgeons want to charge the full price of a medical exam, not pro-rated just for vaccination part.

    Good luck...

I was K1 holder, so I sent only a photocopy of DS-3025(Vaccination Documentation Worksheet) and it was fine.

I got no RFE, and received NOA for an interview today :)

Yes I'm done w/all my Vaccinations last May 2012.. and just submitted my DS-3025 (copy) :) Thanks for all your help guys!

  3. I read some post here that they didn't fill up that I-693,they just send the vaccination documentation worksheet from St lukes,it was too late for me to know that b'coz we already went to see the civil surgeon and he transfer my vaccination record in my I-693 form and pay him for $45.i had my medical in St lukes last april and filed my AOS last july so it was only few months,my medical still valid..some civil surgeon here charge you more...my friend in Florida pay $260,and give her another shots she said it's better to do it than to get RFE for not including the I-693...

Ouch that's quite a lot if there's an Additional Charge.. and CS sometimes charge more than what we expect. I guess i'll just provide my Vaccination Documentation on my AOS I've read some and it didn't cause them any RFE..

thanks for the Info! Really helps :)

  4. Good day VJer's! Haven't posted here for a while.. anyhow..

I got married last July 21 and I just got my SSN w/my married name last week. We're about to Start filing for our AOS. Just a question.. 'Coz regarding the payment for the check.. I'm confused if it's the I-485A or I-485 that I'm about to pay? I do know that AOS is Form I-485 but what's the I-485A for? Should my payment go for the I-485 (Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status) for $985 or the I-485A (Supplement A to Form I-485, Adjustment of Status Under Section 245(i)) for $1,000?

  5. Let us know how the POE goes?

I am always curious what they ask at the POE. What city will she come through customs?

Hi regarding the POE.. mine was at Washington DC. Customs didn't ask anything. They just asked for my Yellow sealed envelope and passport.. then they did fingerprinting.. and less than 3minutes, i'm done. got my baggage and saw my Fiance outside the arrival area, w/flowers and chocolates on his hands =)) Feels so good to finally be w/the one you love! =D

and to |StraightShooter|.. Congrats! and God bless the rest of your journey!

  6.

Although occasionally a clerk at the SS office will not allow the married name until the green card or EAD is issued in the married name. They've also been known not to allow the last name moved to the middle name unless some other document or ID shows this name. My wife had no issue getting the SS card in typical Filipino married name fashion, but our state spells out the name after marriage on the marriage certificate.

    Thanks :D

  7. Hi VJer's..

I arrived in the US last Thursday, June 28, 12. We're planning to get married on the 21st of July. I was wondering If I can file for my SSN after marriage once AOS is on process.. Or Is the time too long to file for SSN since I read that I had to file 2 weeks after I arrive in US. I want to file for my SSN using my married name so Instead of filing before marriage, is it possible if I do it after getting married?

  8. Hi VJ'ers.. this goes to my fellow Filipinos.. What's the proper attire to wear at CFO for their meeting? Ill be having my meeting on Monday and just would like to know if they have dress codes or whatsoever.. Just want to be sure =)

  9. Just wanted to say that Visajourney has been a big help with the whole process from start to finish of answering questions from K-1 forms to Citizenship. We are now done with the whole process except for the Oath Ceremony. So I want to wish everyone well in their journey of being together with the ones you love for a lifetime. Thanks VJ members for all your help. Good luck to all who are in the early process of filing. Take care. The end of our visajourney on here has ended.

    Congratulations!

  10. It is my impression that you will need your passport with the new visa in it, and the sealed envelope given to you by the interviewing embassy/consulate at your POE. Refer to DOS Nonimmigrant K-1 visa FAQs for details.

    Good luck.

yes. Passport w/the new visa and sealed envelope will be the things i'll be bringing w/me the whole time..

thanks! I have 8 days more to go till I get to be with my Fiance! cant wait.. :)

  11. My fiance is here too. Picked her up in Chicago on Thursday. :) We are so happy to finally be together.

Beware that the Chicago POE was no cakewalk. For us, it was the most stressful part of the whole interview. The office was rude, pessimistic and overall just very doubtful and negative. Our relationship and all our papers got scrutinized for over 35 minutes. He thought long and hard about letting her into the US. Was extremely stressful...just a heads up, don't overlook the POE interview, be prepared to answer a lot of questions.

But we are here together now and so happy to be moving onto the next chapter of our lives together.

    Congrats!!

just a question.. although my POE is at DC.. do I need to bring all our papers for the immigration to check? or just the Yellow Sealed envelope together with the Visa? :)

    CONGRATS!

Yeah, we are just a little under three weeks until her interview happens in Guangzhou. We are just putting the finishing touches on all of our documentation and applications. The time schedules and flights have been booked. We just need to "git 'er done!"

  14. There are Filipino Communities in your Area, you can seek help from them. Or like Majority of the people say here, look for a shelter and bring your Daughter with you. Living in your own Home with that Man is not a good place to be with. I really feel bad around these cases esp. for Women being abused. It's really hard if you're still questioning if you're with the right Man. I hope there'll be no more of this abuses on Women and just making them sex slaves. Women are taken good care of, not being played around.
