  1. USCIS is very minimal. VJ is a collective experience of the members. I-129F form and its instruction looks simple when you read it but for some reason, you have to read it over and over and ask people to verify if what you understood is correct and accurate.

The last time I found info on VJ that seemed to contradict the USCIS info, ...

    Can you be more specific?

  2. I don't believe it matters where the marriage took place.

She is still a Filipino citizen and still covered by Philippine law which is "who initiated and nationality based". If she goes back home while these are still going on, you'll have a hard time to be legally together. Either her current husband will divorce her or she becomes USC on her own then file a divorce or if there's any kind of exemptions they have in the US for this kind of cases where she can be in a win-win situation. Patience is your best friend now. In the meantime, take it easy, get to know her very well and do not rush things. You know rebound? Nevertheless, I commend you for exerting an effort to know the process so you know where to stand at.(F)

  4. Sorry but refusing to work isn't cultural at all, it's something she's been told she's entitled to do because she's "pretty". The vast majority of Filipino's that I read on here are quite proud and enjoy working and contributing to their family. The man often earns more money, the Filipino might just have a part-time job, but they enjoy getting out of the house and having their own money to spend and the pride in working.

Being a full time housewife an agreement specially if the guy really earns more than enough.

Just looking around my neighbors and friends (I am still here in PI and this is a neighborhood of classes between few B's, C and D), I could only count in my fingers women who doesn't work. Even if they do not belong in a corporate world, somehow they are still finding ways to help their husbands like putting up retail store, sell stuff (clothes, AVON, etc), get into project based or weekly work (laundry or cleaning).

  5. oh ok. good thing you mentioned this. will we need to submit original receipts, birth certs? or can we submit everything in photocopy?

photocopy. That's his BC or his passport. The front part. To show that he's a USC and can petition an alien. The other pages of passport which will show his exit and entrance to the PI will serve as an evidence of your meeting.

  6. oh ok. but i don't need to mail the pnp and nbi clearance to my fiance right? do forgive me for any stupid questions i may have. and please correct me if i'm wrong on this. i will be mailing him the ff: my birth cert, cenomar, our pics, receipts, chats on skype, fb, gmail, remittance receipts.

oh, and would you happen to know this. his income isn't enough but he gets a check from the government $1400 a month. anyhoo, so there are other forms to fill out, right? i asked my uncle for an affidavit of support. will that help?

i have listed everything that everyone has told me in this forum. i am surprised and thankful for all the information and tips given to me.

You will just have to mail him the G325A and 2x2 pics..click here for examples

Write a "Fiancee Letter of intent" too. Just check around here what's the format. The rest are for your interview. However if you have the pics and other evidences of your of your meeting together, send that in too.

Post another thread of question about his income. Indicate how many dependents he has, if you are bringing a kid too and how much is he making and that option you have in mind. You'll see different and helpful answers. (F)

  7. oh ok. hmmm... he's not really earning enough. but he gets a check from the government every month. $1400 to be exact. and he doesn't own a property. he rents and just owns a car. will an affidavit of support from my uncle help? my uncle and his wife are earning pretty well.

ill leave that to others.. I have no certain idea about how it exactly works. how to convert and count properties and add them up all together to show what is enough....but check similar threads to get an idea. also see this poverty guidelines

  8. umm... question =) what are these exactly: ITR 1040, W2 BAnk Statement, property stamement, pay stubs, insurance papers, DS 156, ds156k, DS157....

based from your conversations, property stamement, pay stubs, insurance papers are not really required? did i understand it correctly? =)

the others i'm not sure what they are? i will also ask my fiance if he knows what these are =)

thank you again to the both of you for helping =)

    forms..click here

or search those forms in yahoo or google to see changes and updates, you'll see how they look like.

They are not required if your fiance can prove that he's earning enough to support you and other dependents if there's any. His ITR and W2 can tell.

I am still waiting for my approval so I am doing all the research and reading I can to kill time. I'm now on my 3rd month of waiting for my approval.

  9. Love you to death Teapot. But, Corrections.. Many..

There is No indication of the OP's timeline so we don't know the stage of the process. (For them at this time, so it would be assupmtions)

Several times I have seen you list "Insurance" What. The Petitioner is not required to carry Property and Causualty. Life and Heath as well. Where did you read that ? That would confuse the hell out of me.

I find several things totally incorrect but, HUGS. We don't know it all and neither do I. Keep talking GIRL

I agree that's the total assumptions 3-5mos time..6mos the worst. Yeah its case to case basis and nobody knows everything here.

Am i right that if the W2 and ITR are enough (125 percent of poverty guidelines) no need for other back up papers like bank statements etc?

  10. Petitioner

  11. You do NOT want to bring anything FAKE into the USA.. If they check your bags you could end up in big trouble. Stay only with 100% legit items

I just don't understand what's "fake" or not. If we are talking about the kit and the body, it's the exactly the same thing. Those people are just getting away with taxes that's why the prices are incredibly low. I want to know if there's any difference in the paper or something.

Phillips gogear is the cheapest ####### mp3 players in USA. They don't support the warranty even in the USA. The warrant is not worth the paper it is written on. Only good products are Ipod and Sony.

Best to have your fiance contact Cannon and Nikon in the USA and ask about their warranty. You could email places like best buy.com. They should also be able to tell you if you bought a cannon product there if they would warrant cover you here.

Really?? So it wouldn't matter if he bought it there? Calling Canbon USA is an excellent idea. Thank you.

  12. I guess, before buying a product, it is better to ask the company if international warranty will cover that particular country. Because there can be many situations as they may not have certain part for that mode.

I got a Nokia N8 from HongKong, and when I called to Indian Nokia care to check if it has warranty in India, and their answer was no.

I will bring it in the US. I was only able to talk to the sales people and haven't called Canon Philippines itself. You know how sales just tend to say just exactly what you want to hear?

I am wondering about these cameras in Hidalgo because if Canon Philippines doesn't cover international warranty, there'no sense of buying it from them.

  13. My fiance bought a Phillips MP4 here and after 2mos, it quit turning on even if it looked fully charge. When he called Phillips, they said they are not recognizing that GoGear MP4 he bought here so I am kinda paranoid with my next purchase.

I need to buy a DSLR camera. Hidalgo in Quiapo sells 5k cheaper cameras but they only cover in store warranty. Apparently, I will eventually need to bring the said camera in the US. I know they are selling genuine Canon camera's in Hidalgo but that place got lower rental fees and somehow they are getting away with taxes.

Are the DSLR's being sold in Hidalgo considered as legally "fake"?

Am I going to have a hard time bringing the camera in the US if I bought it from Hidalgo?

Are the Canon products cover a 3 year international warranty as well?

  14. I am not sure what's the effect of the "married" status on the BC of the children if it has any bearing at all.

Best to see an immigration lawyer on this case specially if the father was petitioned by his son as "married" and the wife that was indicated there is his mother. But no matter what, do not conceal any information. You know, if you start with a lie, you have to cover it with another and multiple lies.

  15. But father got a mistress and he married the mistress.

    How did this happen?

Petitioning an illegitimate child/ren is allowed in the US immigration law, the only problem is if wants to bring his "current wife" with him. I am not sure what's the effect of the "married" status on the BC of the children if it has any bearing at all.

  16. I think they just got template there and they'll just edit the names and other details just like what they do in Affidavits. LOL. Thank you for the advise. Christmas is coming, more holidays ahead but keep your finger crossed that it'll be before New Years :star:
