Case complete as of yesterday! No checklists thanks to Saylin. Looking forward to finally gettin' this sucker done.
-
Just got off the phone with NVC, they said it just means that those documents aren't showing up in the system yet and to disregard the checklists. She said wait the usual 14-20 business days for the review process.
-
Hey All,
Confused, but hoping this is maybe a good thing. It looks like I got a false checklist, can anyone confirm? We're in Canada and are using EP with scanned documents. The checklist is for all of the supporting documents in the DS-230 (Birth Certificate, Passport, Passport Photos, police certificate, and marriage certificate) as well as the entire AOS package. We sent the AOS package and all supporting docs for both packs last Friday with a supervisor review subject line. Triple checked everything before we sent. Hoping this is just a sign that our case is now being reviewed. I called this morning and the operator didn't have any news for me.
Thanks!

Another month, here we go!

Sorry to hear you dumped so much time and money on bad lawyers. Some of the best advice I got on this site initially was to keep away from lawyers completely. I'm in Canada as well, and we're expecting to have our CR-1 finished up in September or October. We started late November 2012, and there was about a month and a half in the middle that we put it off and dilly-dallied. If we'd been on top of things and rushed, we would probably have been done by August, which makes for about 9 months, just to give you an idea of the timeline currently. May be different when there are children involved, though. Good luck!

Ok, Optin e-mail received and both packages (AOS and DS-260) have been re-sent as of 5 minutes ago (about 5:35pm EST) using the supervisor review trick. Any estimation on when they might receive/ review the packages with the supervisor review? Thanks again for the help, Saylin!
-
Perfect, thanks again!
-
Sorry, just to be clear, is this the trick?
"Supervisor Review - NVC Case # MTL2012XXXXXX - BENEFICIARY'S FULL NAME - Second Time Sending"
Using that as the subject line in sending the two packages together?
-
Yeah, for Canada, you need to optin first as EP is still optional for Canada. The reason you were getting email correspondence is because you gave over both email addresses to an operator. Everyone can do this (not just EP-eligible countries).
Once you get the optin acceptance email, send the AOS and IV packages again. Use the DS-3032 trick in the FAQ and it should speed up the review of the packages, cutting down on wasted time.
Thanks!
-
You opted in to EP first, right? And got the acceptance email?
My wife forgot to send the optin e-mail. I assumed she had, and since we were receiving e-mail correspondence, my wife figured that was all we needed.
Frustrating, we were hoping to have everything reviewed by the end of next week and were crossing our fingers for an August interview. Looks like we're gonna be pushed back at least two weeks now and have our interview fall somewhere in September.

Hi all,
Had a troubling conversation with someone at the NVC on the phone this morning. I called to see if our packages had been received and if the case had been reviewed yet, and the lady on the phone asked me when I sent them. When I told her that I e-mailed them a week ago, she told me that by no means should I be e-mailing anything to the NVC, that I had to do everything by mail. I told her were using electronic processing, and she told me she had no record of that, even though all of our correspondence since may has been via e-mail and everything except for the I-864 has been completed and sent online.
She told me they wouldn't accept any e-mails from us because we weren't registered for electronic processing.
Is there any chance she's wrong? Is there something we missed in the process? Super stressed trying to figure this out right now, any help is appreciated.

Problem solved, nevermind!

For the people who have had the cover sheet emailed to them, how long did it take for you to get it after you called?
Mine came toward the end of the next business day.
-
Alright! They e-mailed the IV cover sheet this afternoon, added it to my DS-260 supporting documents and got it sent off! All fees are now paid and all of the paper work and supporting documentation has been sent off. C'mooooooooooooooon case complete!
-
I spoke to the NVC around 12:30 this afternoon and they said they'd email me the cover sheet. As of now, I have not received an email.
The lady I spoke with said it takes 3-5 business days to get the e-mail out. I asked her to send it, but I've been going back to the website every hour to see if it's up and running properly so I can access it myself. Still no luck.
-
May be an error on their end if so many people are getting it.
Just got off the phone with the NVC people. They're having website issues, she wasn't sure when everything will be up and running properly, she said just to keep checking back in on the site. Meantime, she's gonna e-mail my IV cover sheet. Good luck, gang!

Hey Niki, no, I have a Mac which doesn't support IE. Tried clearing out history, cookie and cache, to no avail. Tried a different browser (was using safari, then Chrome) and still nothing
-
I just paid the IV fee. But when I go to print the document cover sheet I get, "You have encountered an application error. Please try again later."
Anyone else get this? Should call NVC about it or just wait?
Yea, it looks like sections of the site are still buggy from being down yesterday. It let me finish my DS-261, but won't let me e-mail the confirmation or print the IV cover sheet.

ceac.state.gov is down for me, at the moment - anyone have problems?
Me too! Been trying to finish up my D-260 for two hours...

Your situation may be different coming from Columbia, but as a Canadian I had no trouble crossing into the USA to visit my wife, and we're still in process. I believe it's up to the discretion of the POE officer. I brought proof of employment, and a copy of everything I had sent to the USCIS up to that point so I could prove we were legally pursuing immigration.
At the border the officer asked me the purpose of my trip, I said it was to visit my wife. He asked if either of us had filed for each other so I let him know she'd filed for me and that I had a copy of the paperwork should he need to see it. He said that wasn't necessary and waved me through.
-
So you did the DS-261?
My bad, that's what I meant!
-
Thanks for all your help, Saylin!
Submitted the DS3032 online about a week and a half ago, waiting on the confirmation now and the IV bill invoice.
Hoping to finish everything up by the middle of the month and get an interview date in Montreal for August or early September!

I'm in Canada and my wife is in NYC. We filed at the end of November, 2012 and it took us five months to get our NOA2. Not sure what field office we were sent to, her address changed from Long Island to NYC about a month and a half after we got our NOA1. I don't think you have anything to worry about just yet, just some slow processing in NY

Hey there! We don't have an interview date yet.
