  1. no funny story, but here is my progess today:

. Emailed my senator this morning.

. Called NVC and just the usual ####### (send a copy of your I-797 and we'll look into it).

. Called USCIS: when I requested to "create a service request" of my case status I got transfered to next tier operator. He gave me the same ####### that it's not over night mail where NVC would receive it right away ( I was thinking no sh!t, if it's overnight mail then you must have sent the package to Mars). Anyway, I insisted that he create a service request to CSC to see where my case is. He told me it'll take CSC 2 weeks to repsond to my request via snail mail. I know have a "service request number" that I'l follow up with CSC-NCSC-FollowUp@uscis.dhs.gov and will see where this is taking me.

by the way, if you just email straight out to CSC-NCSC-FollowUp@uscis.dhs.gov without a service request number, you'll get the below message:

This e-mail address belongs to the California ServiceCenter and it is intended onlyfor follow up on inquiries submitted through the USCIS National Customer ServiceCenter (NCSC) at 1-800-375-5283 or via TTY at 1-800-767-1833 (for hearing impaired).

All case related inquiries areaddress to the NCSC first. A customer service representativeshould be able to assist you when you call the above toll-free number. Ifrepresentatives are unable to resolve or provide information regarding yourcase, they will create a service request for the appropriate USCIS office thathas or had jurisdiction over your case to answer your questions and concerns. “ReferralID” assigned by NCSC must identify these referrals.

    Thank you.

  2. Just got an email from NVC research saying that THEY HAVE RECEIVED MY PETITION!YAY!GREAT NEWS! Hope this week will bring me case number as well! What a relief after 2 months...

wow, I'm happy for you. You should be jumping up and down by now :)

So when you called in, they don't have your case but their email say they do? that's interesting. Call latter on today and see what they say. When did you send the email to NVCreasearch?

  3. to repeat -

the problem - casefiles going to NRC when instead, they should have gone to NVC.

It's a routing problem, IMO the computer printing the routing slips has been badly programmed with the wrong info.

How certain are you that those files went to NRC? the operators/supervisors just say the thing that you want to hear so we can get off their back.

  4. Well my congressman's office contacted the CSC about my mid april approved I-130 , they were told that the petition is still at their center because of a backlog and they will be working expeditiously to move the petition to the NVC.

So take a deep breath, your petition was not lost, its just waiting to be shipped off to the NVC.

I don't think that's the reason. If you look around this forum, people that approved around early May and some after May 17th got their petitions to NVC 3 weeks or less.

  5. Got my NOA2 on May 9 and still nothing from NVC, so I am at 5 weeks waiting now. I also got the "en route from USCIS" e-mail response from NVC research.

I'll join the club here. Tomorrow is one month for me. I got the genetic email "NVC will contact USCIS on my behalf .....blah,blah....". I feel bad for the OP with 2 months wait. I've seen people got their petitions to NVC 3 weeks or less, and their NOA2 dates after May 15th.

  6. So you will buy and sell daily on dips in the price? What about transaction costs? BAC is incredibly volatile right now, which suggests there is no good consensus as to how it will perform in the short-term. I don't have any problem with speculation if people understand what they are doing...I am not sure though that I'd pick BAC...except to short it.

He's not a day trayder. He's just going to sit on it and hope that it'll give a good return in 2-3 months.

  7. It is odd that NVC did not receive your case from USCIS yet, should take 2-3 weeks.

For the consulate in HCMC, they changed the rule for submitting p3 to mail only. When mailing p3 to the consulate, I suggest paying for a higher postage rate so the consulate will receive it as soon as possible. Of course location also matters, my fiancé lives in HCMC, and to our surprise, DOS confirmed receipt of p3 by the consulate the next day after she mailed it.

Yah, it's exactly one month of waiting now between NOA2 and NVC. It seems like a lot of people got approved around mid-May don’t have their petitions at NVC yet.

Thanks for the info on package 3. That would save my wife some hassle to travel to HCM just to drop off 2 forms.

  8. I just bought 1000 shares of Bank of America stock symbol BAC at $7.47 a share.

I expect this stock will go up to between $8.50 to $9.00 by the end of July. And I expect to make between $1000-$1500 by that time, the same time I receive NOA2 and I will buy an engagement ring for my fiancee.

1k for the ring? she must have small hand to make everything looks big..... :innocent:

you must know something about this stock. With the current market and European crisis, it's hard to tell what's going to happen for the next few months. I guess, more power to you if you can see a 10% rate of return.

  9. It took us about a little over a month. The consulate confirmed receipt of p3 on 5/4 and confirmed that p4 was mailed on 6/6. Our interview date is scheduled for 7/9.

I'm so jealous at your timeline progress. NVC hasn't received my case yet, and it's been almost 1 month.

  10. You're welcome guys!!! I'm glad I can help and pass along some peace of mind. Remember when you call USCIS to specifically ask for your pending shipment petition...that way they know what you're looking for and don't say that after it's approved it's out of their hands. It happens to not be true all the time. God bless you all

Hey chikita, did you ask to find out about your petition that's pending shipment. Let them know you wanna know if it has left or not.

I called USCIS twice and they told me they don't have that information on "pending shipment". I was very polite both times and they kept repeating the 30 days #######......

  11. Anyone in this forum ever bring any pets, especially dog to the States ? I'm planning to bring a Chihuahua whenever my wife got her visa. My mom talked to someone on some other forum, and she told me that I'd need a visa for the freaking dog too (beside health certification, rabies shots, etc...). Looking for some inputs. Thanks.

  12. DOS # 202-663-1225 Push option 1 then 0 to speak to a visa specialist

That's from your post. Posting it again if someone else is looking for this info.

Back to package 3 question, from what I've read on a few posts. It seems that you can turn in the forms as soon as HCMC send out the package. It's nothing more than just instruction and form DS-2001 and DS-230 Part I, correct? The reason I'm asking for this because my wife lives in a rural area. There isn't any house number yet. For me, sending regular mail to her is a miss and hit. Unless you're from HCMC or Hanoi, mailing system in VN is terrible.

  13. Thanks for the respond.

I meant I134 (not sure where i saw 864). Does this form need to be notarized?

One of you post on a few pages back, you mentioned calling DOS (department of states?) with a different phone number. It's not the same as NVC right? I'm a bit confused.

yes, I'm filing for K1 Visa.

  14. We just received our NOA2. I have a few questions regard to Package 3 & 4. Please take a few minutes and help me out.

    Package 3:

    1. It seems that as soon as HCM consulate send out the form, I can go ahead and turn in DS-2001 and DS-230 Part I? Can I just turn it in as soon as my case arrived in HCM (say about 2 weeks or so)?

    2. My wife is from a rural area. It'd take her 5 hours of bus drive to SaiGon. Do you guys recommend to fax the forms/email/snail mail?

    Package 4:

    1. Justice Record Check: Within the past 10 years. My wife lived in SaiGon and her home town (different province). She never registered in Saigon (so ho khau). Do we need to obtain the record for both places?

    2. Birth Certificates: For my wife, where can she have the birth certificate translate and/or certify?

For myself, I'm naturalized citizen. I don't have my original birth certificate issue by the Vietnamese's government anymore. I have a copy of the translate. Is is required to have the original?

    3. Evidence of support (Form I-864) : Does this form need to be notarized?

    Thank you in advance.

  15. So last night I checked USCIS website and saw this (see below). I haven't received email or txt message yet. I received a text when it was NOA1. Our NOA1 was December 27, 2011.

    Post Decision Activity

On May 15, 2012, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I129F PETITION FOR FIANCE(E). Please follow any instructions on the notice. If you move before you receive the notice, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283.

For approved applications/petitions, post-decision activity may include USCIS sending notification of the approved application/petition to the National Visa Center or the Department of State. For denied applications/petitions, post-decision activity may include the processing of an appeal and/or motions to reopen or reconsider and revocations.

  16. You can get Visa on Arrival at the airport. It'd take less than 15 mins to get it. First you'd need to apply for the approval and bring the approval letter with you. I use this service every time and have no problem. The total cost around $40 for a single entry. I don't think it'd cost much more than that for multiple entries. See the link below. These people are very professional and helpful too. Any questions, you can ask me.

  17. I always use bing.com. It gives you the lowest results than any site out there. I booked a fly going back this Thanks Giving for $1865. I booked this a month a go and today i checked the price went down to $1600. So lesson learned, wait about 1 to 2 weeks prior to your trip then book your fly. There are always open seats. Well, also this depends on the season too.

Also, getting a Visa is easy these days. I'm using a service call Visa on arrival (pick up Visa at the airport). It cost $14 for the application and $25 to pick up the Visa at the airport.
