  1. Good Afternoon Fellow VJ's,

My Brother In Law received his Green Card on 09/25/12. He was only able to live in the U.S. for less than a month due to a family emergency and left the country on 10/14/12. He's been overseas this long because had to take care of his ill sister and due the situation his elderly parents too. His sister passed away; may she R.I.P. His Green Card will expire on 10/03/22. He's now able to come back and live here like he originally planned. What are are the possibilities of him being able to re-enter the country due to his Green Card not being expired? Is there any application or process that would allow him to re-enter the country without any problems? Any information and guidance is greatly appreciated. Please advise as I also was not sure if my question applies to this forum.

    Thank you,

    NH

  2. Good Afternoon, Fellow VJ's my Husband is a May 2017 filer. He received his Permanent Residence Card\Approval in July without an interview. He got an extension notice yesterday in the mail for his old card with conditions. I assume these letters are being automatically generated by the system due to the expiration being soon. Has anyone else received this in error with Permanent Residence? Should he call USCIS to clarify?

    Little concerned.

    Thank you

  3. Good Afternoon Fellow VJ's

My husband received his Approval letter and Resident card in the beginning of July May 2017 filer. Conditions were removed without an interview/biometric appt. Our file was moved from VSC to local office. He is now receiving a letter saying his file is being extended for his old card with conditions/expired soon.  Is anyone else getting this letter although they received their permanent green card?

    Thank you

    NH

  4. Hello Fellow VJ's

I received my receipt letter 05/22/17 with receipt date 05/17/2017.

Does anyone know what the average time is currently to receive the bio-metric letter?

Once the bio-metric letter is issued will I be able to see that updated on the USCIS website with my receipt #?

Just making sure I don't miss it because I moved this month and have updated my address online with USCIS.

Is anyone getting case updates from USCIS website; per their website is it correct that VSC is currently working on 2016 filers? :(

    Appreciate all the help.

    Thank you,

    SN

  5. Hello Fellow VJ's

I am back on here but not under the circumstances I had hoped for. My former Husband and I unfortunately went through a Divorce that became final last week. Although we are no longer together we've parted ways on peaceful terms and I've decided to continue to support him and help him through this journey. I want the best for him and what to help him with the filing process to remove his conditions. Is there a thread/guideline for residents filing to remove conditions I-751 that went through a Divorce?

    Any information/links are greatly appreciated.

Once again thanking everyone who has ever helped me throughout this Journey regardless of the outcome.

    NS

  6. Hello Fellow VJ's,

Husband and I decided to call USCIS customer service line to get any new update on our case or talk to an officer last Tuesday - 4th.

    Waiting since April/14 - Waiver Letter July/14!

Talked to the officer explained our case/long process; she stated she would put a request to the field office for any new update. She confirmed they were already working on cases filed Feb 2015! She obviously noticed something wasn't right. At first she was going to send a request to our local Atlanta field office but we explained the infopass appt was there but no further info was given since our case was in an other state. We thought our case was in Lees Summit, MO since the employment card/waiver letter came from there. Officer agreed to send update request to the MO office and advised for us to wait 2 weeks for an email notification/case status. Waited two weeks checked our email today and indeed received 3 separate USCIS emails confirming the following:

"Application Type: I485, APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS
Your Case Status: Card/ Document Production
On August 14, 2015, we ordered your new card for Receipt Number - , and will mail it to the address you gave us. If you move, go to - to give us your new mailing address.
This step applies to applications that result in an applicant receiving a card (such as a "green card") or other document (such as a naturalization certificate, employment authorization document, travel document, or advance parole). Applications will be in this step from the time the order to produce the card/document is given until the card/document is produced and mailed to the applicant. You can expect to receive your card/document within 30 days of the approval of your application. If you do not receive your document, please contact our National Customer Service Center at 1-800-375-5283."

" Application Type: I485, APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS
    Your Case Status: Decision
On August 14, 2015, we registered your permanent resident status and mailed you a Welcome Notice for Receipt Number -. Please follow the instructions in the notice. Your new permanent resident card should arrive by October 13, 2015, after this registration or after you complete any ADIT processing referred to in the welcome notice, whichever is later. If you move, go to - to give us your new mailing address. During this step the formal decision (approved/denied) is written and the decision notice is mailed and/or emailed to the applicant/petitioner. You can use our current processing time to gauge when you can expect to receive a final decision."

After noticing we received this last update in our email this evening; we decided to hear our voice mails and come to find out an officer from the Cleveland, OH Immigration office called to let my husband know yesterday that we should be receiving a notice or a decision in the mail within 3 weeks; if in 3 weeks we don't receive anything "please, please" contact the customer service number again. She stated our case is there and they would try to work on it today; she apologized for any inconvenience they may have caused and thanked us for our patience; they will do their best to adjudicate his case asap.

Not sure how we went from thinking our case was in Lees Summit to Cleveland??? :bonk:

We're just thankful something is getting done and he should be receiving his card soon! :D:dance::yes:

Can anyone please explain what's highlighted in red; is there a registration or ADIT (not sure of meaning)?

Also for anyone that just received their card who waited just as long as we have; is the card only valid for two years with conditions? Not sure of the process after the issue of green card... :help:

Again appreciate everyone's help now and throughout the years of process... :)

  7. Good Day VJ'S

Haven't been on here in a while......

Wanted to know if there is anyone that filed in April 2014 that received the potential interview waiver letter in July 29th, 2014.

My husband hasn't received any update yet. Our last info pass was on Jan 30th, 2015 - outcome still in Lee's Summit MO processing.

    Received his 2nd EAD/Travel card in May 5th, 2015.

Is there any new forums on the subject that I should be following?

    Appreciate any tips or updates.

  9. Received a text msg/email alert that my wife's green card is in production. It's been a long time coming.i hope more April filers will get there GC soon. NOA was 04-29-14 i believe. All info is on my timeline.

Congrats our bio was 05/15/14 & PWL 07/29/14; just applied for ead/ap renewal.

    Hope we here something soon.

I was just thrown off with Oct 2014 filers getting green cards/interviews already... wasn't sure if I read it correctly or it's just been that kind of long day. lol

  10. congrats! we have the same noa date. i hope we get ours soon. unfortunately, i got a response to my service request and it says our case is still at the NBC.

Is it a bad thing our case is still in the NBC; Missouri? Not sure if that's what you were referring to.

    I also received a PWL on July 29th, 2014 bio 5/15/2014*

I'm confused I thought NBC is where the approval would come from -green card/interview notice...

I'm also confused I read October 2014 filers have rcvd green cards/interviews already... am I missing something or reading something incorrectly :crying::cry:

  11. Hello Fellow VJ's

I sent of my I-765 and I-131 renewal packet today.

    Sent:

    Applications I-765 & I-131

    G-1145 for each

    Two photos for each

    1-485 NOA for each

    I-765 NOA

    I-131 NOA

    I-94 for each

Copy of tear off page that came with original card for each application

Copy of potential waiver letter for each application

Copy of front and back of EAD/TRAVEL card attached to each application

Copy of update letter "processing out of normal time frame" for each application

It might be more than needed but I felt good about sending all this.

Hope this helps anyone that is trying to renew :)

Thank you for all the VJ's that helped me some how with my questions.

  12. Thank you for your response.

I looked back a the thread but I didn't see a specific one that had a checklist of things sent for renewal.

I went to Family based AOS cases/AOS Potential Waiver but I didn't see anything there.

I noticed a lot of the EAD topics were about receiving them for the first time/not renewal.

Do you have a link to the one you are specking of?

    Appreciate your help.

you have to fill out and submit the I-131 and I-765 forms again, photos required. also, yes...the "tear off"...NOA for I-485, interview waiver letter, go to the AOS topics page and scroll back at the "potential interview waiver "thread and you will see what people who have already sent their renewals in sent.

  13. Sorry since women are normally so picky about this stuff I figured it was your wife writing this in such detail... lol :D

Thank you for your response and checklist.

I'm trying to keep my list minimal but knowing how detailed I am myself I will probably end up sending extra just to feel safe! :bonk:

Good luck on your journey and please keep us posted on your renewal process/aos.

My husband card expires 06/17/15 so trying to do this all in the weekend... :dead:

    Hey! I'm a he!

I'm glad the post could be of use to you :)

This is what I ended up sending off-- whether or not it's too much or too little is yet to be seen :P, though I'm pretty confident in what I included.

When I mean "original" i-131 & i-765, I'm referring to the new ones you need to send off with your renewal, as you need to sign them at the end in ink. You send those "originals" off, and make exact photocopies for your own records.

    - Photocopy of "tear-off" portion sheet provided with original EAD (the page with the 3 bar codes on it)
    - EAD Cover Page
    - G-1145 Form for E-notification of Application/Petition Acceptance
    - I-765 - Application for Employment Authorization
    - 2 passport photos
    - Copy of I-94 Arrival/Departure record (front and back)
    - Copy of current Employment Authorization Document Card (front and back)
    - Copy of I-797C, Notice of Action for the I-485
    - Copy of passport biographical details page

    - Photocopy of "tear-off" portion sheet provided with original EAD (the page with the 3 bar codes on it)
    - AP Cover Page
    - G-1145 Form for E-notification of Application/Petition Acceptance
    - I-131 - Application for Travel Document (Advanced Parole)
    - Supplemental page for Part 7, on the I-131
    - 2 passport photos
    - Copy of current Employment Authorization Document (front and back)
    - Copy of I-797C, Notice of Action for the I-485
    - Copy of K-1 Visa
    - Copy of passport biographical details page

    Hope this helps! :)

  14. Hello Fellow VJ's

My husband applied for his AOS in April 2014 still pending...

I wanted to know from someone that recently renewed and received their new work/travel card regarding documentation submitted for renewal.

I'm getting various answers from VJ's/USCIS Customer Service but I was hoping to get advise from someone that recently renewed.

Can someone tell me what docs were sent?

His card expires 06/17/15 so we are trying to reapply no later than this week.

I was obviously going to send the copy of the tear off portion from first renewal card.

    Copy of I-797C for the I-485, I-765, I-131.

And all the letters received since AOS: Possible Waiver Letter & Status Letter From Missouri stating case is still processing do to work load...

Not sure if the copy of I-94 is necessary, new photos, or copy of his moroccan bio passport page since all that was sent with original applications.

Since we are not paying fees or bio-metric fee; I was debating sending new passport size photos since they will soon be a year old but he still looks the same. :D no kind of kim kardashin plastic upgrade

Any feedback will be very helpful!

    Thank you all...

Oh and I noticed the new travel application does not include a barcode will this be an issue?

  15. thank you :)

    yes c9 is my category

thank you for the check list link...

now im just trying to figure what stuff from the list are necessary and not just additional... lol :bonk:

    EAD renewal is FREE!

See here: http://www.uscis.gov.../i-765instr.pdf top of page 8 (this is in the filing fee section) it says for "renewal EAD" if you're filing under category C9 (which is what a pending AOS is) then there's no fee.

USCIS recommends you file for renewal documents 120 days before your current documents will expire.

    Follow this thread for checklist

  16. Hey Fellow VJ,

Thanks for posting this up... :)

I was wondering what exactly did you end up sending from your check list on the renewal for ead/ap?

We applied for aos in april 2014 still pending as well... :( my hubs card expires 6/26 so we are trying to send our stuff no later than this week.?/

Where you mention original/131 & 765 do you mean original form sent? did you label it?

    Would really appreciate your help.

    Hey friends,

Never thought I'd have to renew this bad boy-- but that's USCIS for you!

I've read countless of threads, and the official instructions a few times through, but just want to make sure I haven't missed anything.

    CHECKLIST

    • "Tear-off portion" sheet with 3 barcodes from previous EAD approval attached to the front of my packet (Original or photocopy?)
    • EAD Cover Letter
    • G-1145
    • Original i-765
    • 2 passport photo's (Name and Alien Number written on back)
    • Photocopy of i-797c for my i-485
    • Photocopy of i-797c for my previous i-765 submission
    • Photocopy of i-797c biometrics appointment notice
    • Photocopy of current EAD card (front and back)
    • Photocopy of Potential Interview Waiver Notice
    • Photocopy of i-94 (front and back)
    • AP Cover Letter
    • G-1145
    • Original i-131
    • 2 passport photo's (Name and Alien Number written on back)
    • Photocopy of i-797c for my i-485
    • Photocopy of i-797c for my previous i-131 submission
    • Photocopy of i-797c biometrics appointment notice
    • Photocopy of current EAD card (front and back)
    • Photocopy of K1 Visa
    • Supplement sheet explaining reasoning for AP request

And then as a side note, to my knowledge-- since I'm ©(9), I don't need to pay a filing fee. And the address I should be sending to is:

    USCIS Chicago Lockbox

    For U.S. Postal Service:

    USCIS
    P.O. Box 805887
    Chicago, IL 60680-4120

For Express mail and courier deliveries:

    USCIS
    Attn: FBAS
    131 South Dearborn-3rd Floor
    Chicago, IL 60603-5517

Did I get everything? Pretty paranoid about sending this off-- as always!!

Once again, all comments, advice and feedback are greatly appreciated!

  17. Hello Fellow VJ,

When you said "you don't need all that" you didn't specify what she had in the list that was correct...

Looking back at my check list for AOS all I attached to the 131 & 765 was 2 photos...

Bit confused on that response because everything else sent was mostly for 485...

Do you mind being more specific.

    Appreciate your help. :D

    CHECKLIST

    • "Tear-off portion" sheet with 3 barcodes from previous EAD approval attached to the front of my packet (Original or photocopy?)
    • EAD Cover Letter
    • G-1145
    • Original i-765
    • 2 passport photo's (Name and Alien Number written on back)
    • Photocopy of i-797c for my i-485
    • Photocopy of EAD/AP card
    • Photocopy of i-94 (front and back)
    • AP Cover Letter
    • G-1145
    • Original i-131
    • 2 passport photo's (Name and Alien Number written on back)
    • Photocopy of i-797c for my i-485
    • Photocopy of K1 Visa
    • Supplement sheet explaining reasoning for AP request

    Corrected list

You dont need all of that. You only need to submit the same items as before. You only need to add NOA1 for I-485 for each application, and a copy of the page your EAD/AP card came in.
  18. Hello Fellow VJs,

My husband also applied for aos in april 2014 still pending...

So I also had questions before I apply for renewal for 131 & 765

Firstly, I was confused as to whether we have to submit any kind of fee for renewal.

I paid all the fees when applying for the 485.

When I called USCIS the rep seemed more confused than I.. lol

After reading the instructions and fees online it seems clear that fees don't apply for us...?

Another vj stated in a post that the bio metric fee is unnecessary and there is no need to send updated photos for renewal?

Is it necessary to send birth certificate, passport bio page copies, stamped pgs, & all required docs when we filed the first time?

I noticed the webpage says renewals are to be sent to chicago lock box; the tear off page that came with the card can I send a copy of it or they need original?

    I really appreciate your answers...

The application process is the most stressful for me b/c I freak that I might miss something....

#11 Do you still have your EAD/AP approval letter that USCIS sent you?

Otherwise, I would just put Chicago Lockbox.

#15 current immigration status would be K-1 visa holder/adjustment applicant

#16 ©(9) Pending Family Based Form I-485 Application to Register Permanent Resident

You have to send in the AP form I-131 as well.

Remember to include a copy of AOS NOA1 letter (I-485 receipt copy)

  19. You're not getting a new biometrics. And there's no fees involved other than postage.

Within 120 days of your EAD expiring you fill out an i765 form and tick the renewal box on the form, send in the copy of the NOA for i485 and that's it!

    Thank you for your reply.

Does he have to fill out a renewal for is I-131 travel doc too or will they automatically renew that has well since it's currently all in one card?

  20. You are correct there is no fee for EAD/AP Renewal, I'm gonna have to renew mine too in March since I'm in the same situation as yourself, not heard a thing since May 2014

Thanks for your response. Do you know if there is a link on VJ for the renewal process for these two/pending I-485?

The $85 bio metric fee is still applicable correct?

    Wish you the best! :)
