  1. I understand that it's frustrating. But you can't blame this on USCIS. I volunteered full time when I got here, before I even applied for AOS I had a full time 'job', I just didn't get paid. Get off your butt and start living your life, you'll feel a lot better for it.

Also joining sports clubs/ a gym is a great way to blow of some USCIS frustration and also to meet people, make this feel more like home.

  2. At least you are together. The hardest part of the process is the time spent apart. You must have known what you got yourself in for, that's why they make sure your partner can financially support you, because odds are it's going to be a while before you can work. You show your worth by just being there every day. Luckily my EAD came in 2 months so I've been able to work, but my Green card is nowhere in sight and I'm going to miss my Dad's wedding because of it. My AOS was sent to CSC so I will probably be waiting a VERY long time...FML!!!

  3. Yes, the system can pull your prints from different concurrent applications.

Thanks. Everything I had read said that people had to go in for 2 separate biometrics appointments (unless 2 were stated on one appointment letter), so I'm so happy to hear they can just pull my prints from the one appointment. It would make perfect sense for them to do, I just know that sometimes they like to go the long way around! Thanks for your comment.

  4. If u have your biometric letter does it mention 1 case number or 2 usually it should mention 2 case numbers for the i-485 and the i-765 if it doesnt mention 2 case numbers maybe its just a mistake. dont worry about it u should have biometrics only once and u have done that so u should be fine

Hi, on the letter it only mentions the one case, and only has one bar code. Thank you, I hope it is all done with. I'm just so worried I'm going to get another biometrics letter in a few weeks and then have to wait AGES for my EAD. It's so stressful for those of us who want to and have the opportunity to work! Why the USCIS doesn't give you an EAD when you enter the Country I don't understand, since together we could all be contributing so much money in taxes for the Country!

  5. Hi everyone,

I am slightly confused and looking for some advise. I applied for my I-765 along with my I-485 on 14th April 2012. I had a letter with a biometrics appointment on 9th May 2012 for my I-485, which I attended, and the person who took my biometrics assured me that I would need to come in a second, separate time for another biometrics appointment for my I-765. I waited until 22nd May and I had still not received another appointment letter and heard nothing from USCIS. I called for information and they submitted a service request. That service request was finally answered yesterday 7th June,

"USCIS systems indicate that on 05/09/12 you appeared at the local Application Support Center and had your biometrics taken. Processing has resumed on your application. If you need further information regarding the status of your case, please check case status online..."

Does this mean that my local office used the information given in my I-485 for my I-765? I have checked on visajourney and can't find anyone else this has happened to (unless both appointments were scheduled on the same appointment letter). The reason I am so worried is because I have secured a job and have told them my situation and that my EAD should be through within the next few weeks. Anyone have any similar stories??
