Visited my family for a week and a half, back home in the US now. Missing them very much..

Yesterday marked my one year anniversary of living in the US. What a crazy year it has been!

I got my Green Card today! No more papers for a while now! Time to start planning my trip to Canada!

Finally an update! I received a letter stating that I have been approved as a permanent resident and should be expecting my green card within the next three weeks! Alhamdullilah. I was getting impatient. Although the wait has been lengthy, I am glad I didn't have to deal with an interview. Also, my first July 4th was great

Happy Canada Day! Last Saturday we celebrated my husbands birthday for the first time while being together! it was amazing. I miss my family and friends in Canada greatly however, i cant wait to give my parents and siblings great big hugs again

Yesterday morning i had to drive to work in the worst storm i have ever had to drive through, I don't remember storms being like this in Ottawa! The weather here is a little scary..

I got my drivers license last weekend, I was a nervous wreck even though I had been driving for years in Canada!

Starting my new job tomorrow, I feel a little nervous! Hope everything goes well Inshallah. I will miss having all of this free time, but I can't wait to feel productive again!

I went for a job in my field (early childhood education). I'm teaching in a Pre-K classroom. I had this job lined up for me months before I got my EAD card. I hope you get some offers soon, and a position that you like. If it wasn't for me having this job lined up, I probably would have taken whatever I could until I found something in my field of studies.

Biometrics done. It was fast and easy, got in early and left before the time of my actual appointment.

Hi! How are you? I haven't been on here much but I am glad to see that things are moving along for you. I hope that you are happy and living life! Our paperwork hasn't made it back to the States yet and it has been 6 months. PPL said that it could be 2 years to get to have a second chance. I guess that might be true. Hey Stacy, I wasn't in the system still after three weeks as well, but I guess he did the manual application for me. I got my SSN only about a week and a half later. Last week I went to the SSN office again with my card, and asked to have my name changed since I got married and the lady said I still wasn't in the system but they'll print me a new card once they get the "OK" from immigration. I don't know why they're being so slow with everything, but as long as I h...

You're more prepared than me lol, I still have some packing to do. I'll likely have 2 suitcases and my small carry-on. I am very nervous! I just want this all to be over with, hoping it goes well for both of us.
