  1. Hi guys,

I need your opinion for those who went through a change of address of the petitioner during the I 130 (CR1 or any after all) process, before approval. My wife is changing her address by next month and I know that we can inform the uscis by filling the AR-11 online.

Is it needed to send any further mail (postal) to the USCIS?

And how will we know whether they've updated our address or not?

    Thanks ^^

  2. I had the same situation two weeks after my NOA1. It happened because the hard copy of my NOA1 was returned to them and could not be delivered to my wife. She changed her last name after marriage but failed to do so on her mail box.

Assuming you already received your NOA1 hard copy, don't bother much, just make sure it's not them making a mistake on your case. Because this message is the same they send to people that are adjusting status (to the best of my knowledge). So very likely it's a computer glitch.

    Cheers^^

  3. Our NOA1 hard copy, was delayed as well. My wife had to call them two times. they finally sent it and she received it some days ago. What I assume is they can be quite lazy when they know you've received electronic notification already and also in our case they said they sent it first but it couldn't be delivered. So it got sent back to USCIS. Watch out for your mail boxes (name change after marriage, etc)

    Cheers^^

  4. The police certificate is required at the consulate (at the interview), so this means when your case has been transferred to the local embassy from NVC. For your police certificate from Turkey, what about asking somebody you know in Turkey to process it for you, you might send him a copy of your passport or foreign ID while living in Turkey (if any), but remember police certificate have a validity. You'd better check it to not make it too soon.

    Anyway, bonne chance.

  5. Your wife needs to make them realize that that e-mail is strange. They usually assume that people don't know much about the process. So she should insist and let them know that you receive such notice only if you file I 485 (Application for Permanent Residence) concurrently with ! 130, which is not your case since you live abroad (If I'm right).

They should be able to tell her that it's a mistake so that you are assured that your case is on the right track and not confused with Adjustment of Status 9as I assumed it was happening to us :).

She should keep calling since she will find different agent anytime she calls. One will have the diligence to make proper verification.

    Good luck and cheers^^
