  1. Status changed to issued this morning...finally after like 15 yrs waiting, losing my mom in January...im full of mixed emotions...excited ecstatic and sad my mom wont be there...i was planning to surprise her now ill surprise my brother and sister instead
  2. Well I didn't pursue hardship waiver right away as I didn't have a real reason to prove. But when my mom got sick with cancer I had a valid reason 😥 Our case was transferred years ago from a different embassy. Once we moved to Canada we got it transferred. How long did it take you to get your visa and do u know why yiur dads in AP?
  3. Have you got visa or interview then? Our case required a hardship waiver after our interview few yrs ago. When my mom got sick I had a hardship to prove and pursued the waiver. After waiver got approved, they requested the DS-5535 and now this yr in feb when we sent them an email to follow-up, they emailed us to submit updated ds-260, taxes, passport, photos, medical, police report etc now waiting...end of Aug is 3 months since they have passport
  4. It's a really long story but nothing too horrible just my husband doing something foolish before we met...booking a one way ticket because he wasn't exactly sure when he planned to go back to his home country...I still risked everything and married him but I sponsor him to Canada also since i was born here which he got approved for...but I'd prefer any day for us to live near family in Texas What stage are you in?
  5. Mines ir1 spouse visa.. my husband's case was complicated but finally we are in the last stage hopefully...the part that really socks is I lost my mom during the process in January and she was my main reason to move back 💔 I'll still move back to be near siblings though
  6. It will be 3 months end of this month that we mailed my husband's passport, updated forms, medical, police reports etc (everything they asked us to mail them by mail) and our case is still in AP/refused. I see the Last updated date updated once a week but status doesn't change. We have been waiting for so long in our entire process that I even lost my mom in January (my co-sponsor) since I don't work in US. Now my brother is my co-sponsor. I just don't understand why it's taking so long...I'm really hoping we can move back to the US before the Canadian winter begins
  7. Curious how long Montreal keeps passport once submitted. Case is complicated and in AP for few yrs but finally they requested husband's passport, updated police report, medical etc ...this is our 3rd month waiting. I see once a week case status date is updated but still says refused and AP.
