Are you the US citizen? If it is your mother then your wife can not file for her. Only you. If you are not, then your mother has overstayed and her B2 visa is now no longer valid.

my wife emmigrated here , and is now a us citizen , her mother is not currently in US .... we want to start the process to get her permanent residence, we would like her to come here and wait in US while her paperwork is being processed. Thanks

  2. Update........ 90% sure we are sol until we get the EAD...... The people there simply say " if its not on that list we cant except it", and yesterday i waited all day for a call back from a supervisor and when i finally got it, it was like talking to a parrot...." if its not on that list we cant except it" if its not on that list we cant except it, ...... They have no interest in the fact that although theI129f

Is on the list, the uscis does not send us the approved I-129f, they send a 797 notice of action approval of the I129f.... Literally wont listen period......

So this is what im doing..... Im going to a lawyer to have him fax the 797 and explain this is the process....consult and faxing this...$150

Im also having my congressman file both for an expidited EAD for a medical emegency, and im having them contact PCIP insurance directly since it is a federal program and noone will listen to me......

  3. But like I said, you must book 2 hours or more between flights. If not, is at their discretion to rebook you on another flight. If they do is simply because they have enough seats available to do that. Imagine if they don't....

Her flight is with United, 2 months ago i had a similar issue with united where the flight connection in houston was only 45 minutes and i had to go through customs, and i told the united salesman theres no way i would make the flight, he simply said go to the counter after customs they would het me on the next one...... Long story short i got into a bit of an argument with an officer in the secondary security after id waited over an hour for no good reason, so i waited ( detained) 3 more hours , after all that i just went to the counter and said it took awhile in customs and just like the salesman said they put me on the next one no questions asked......

  4. Hi anyone know If its ok if my fiance speaks basically no english (spanish only), and shell be entering in houston alone?....i had her ticket booked with mine but the third party booking agency just canceled her tickets on me , and of course there are no more tickets available on the same flight i will be on ......also, how long it takes to pass customs/immigration?........ My fiancee is flying into houston with a 1 hr 45min layover.... is this enough time? I know from past experience, in Houston in particular it can take almost that long without the extra poe wait....

  5. My fiancee will be coming to the us 4 months pregnant and since i found out we cant use medicaid, i was planning on paying cash for the doctors appts. and filing for emegency medicaid once the baby is born.....ive realized there is a flaw in my plan, emergency room/ complications... I live in california , is wic ok? I know medicaid is not..... Can i just get her insurance and not put that shes pregnant ? I think i just answered my own question lol

  6. Jacob, first, congratulations on getting through the process!!! One question, when you were talking about not bringing Western Union Receipts, what was it in your documents that triggered them to ask for the reciepts? I have a couple Western Union receipts I sent for her last birthday and christmas, but have not done any other transfers, so just wondering why they asked for that.

    Thanks and best wishes.

    Jon & Clau

I had nothing in my documents saying anything about sending money or western union...... I think its just one of the standard questions, at least with her ( lady in window 5)

  7. Greetings all, just had our interview today and it went great , just a couple hickups..... Didnt bring the reciept for payment to the embassy, so i had to go to the internet cafe accross the street to print it out...the security let me just come back in without waiting in line again which was nice.....when we went to the first window (la colombiana) she was so nice and quick i didnt think that it was an interview , the only questions she asked my fiance was my full name and my phone number.......we waited and waited and waited some more, we passed the time helping this woman fill out the 230 forms for her and her 2 kids since she spoke no english and i was the only gringo there ( besides the embassy personell).....by the way, the 230 form was not on the list of forms at the embassy, so we didnt even take it out of our envelope.....i am in no way suggesting not bringing it, just an observation...... 3 hrs later when they called her to the window the lady was very serious, asked all of the standard questions, where met, when engaged? Blah blah blah..... Theere were a couple things that raised her eyebrows.... The fact that ive been in colombia for three months.... She even said " americans dont take 4 month vacations", my fiance simply replied i have my own business so i can do what i want...... The other thing which was MAJOR is we didnt bring receipts from the money i sent western union..... Didnt think it was a big deal since we had an abundance of other evidence, photos , skype history, boarding passes, etc....... The lady was stuck on wanting these receipts, in fact, she did not ask for 1 other piece of evidence, she said " you need to bring those receipts" and i was diying inside..... But before i knew it the lady behind the window smiled and my baby turned around with tears in her eyes and i knew it was over........i think i have thought about this every day for 8 months and im so glad i dont have to think/ worry about this anymore....... A HUGE thank you to everyone this site has been so helpful..... Besides the info / checklists on completing the steps, but just knowing what the next step is / how long it will probably be was very comforting....THANK YOU VISAJOURNEY.COM
