I had been in Thailand for a little over 8 months living and working at an international school when I met Bee. We dated off and on for several months as I was traveling a lot when I had summer vacation. We had a few difficulties bridging the Thai-Western cultural bridge, but we learned about each other and grew together. I wanted to go back home to Wisconsin and teach as I had been living abroad for close to four years, but I did not want to leave Bee as our relationship grew more serious and I felt that I could not leave her behind. So, initially we agreed that I would sign on for a few more years at my job in Bangkok and we would get married possibly next year, but I got offered a great position back in my home state of Wisconsin, and so here we are. We got married a few weeks later, the ceremony in her hometown in NE Thailand will be soon and I head back to Wisconsin in early August. Right now we have handed in Packet 3 and are waiting on a response from the embassy with hopefully an interview date not to far off.
