  1. When my babe and I submitted the list of relatives we only did maybe 8-9 of her family here. If we had done them all it would have been a long list indeed. We only submitted the names and birth dates and address and phone numbers along with their status. (Citizens, naturalized, or what not) A few balked so we omitted them without explaining and they accepted the list. We did not notarize this list.

In my situation, the bad thing is that his aunt took her second's husband last name. If I don't disclose her kids from the second marriage then that will rise more red flags. On our second blue slip, they specifically asking for photocopy of driver license or utility bill for each relative listed.

  2. Howdy Tiff and welcome to VJ. After reading your story and details it seems that you will maybe have a rough time but nothing so far that I can see that will mean a denial. You may have a fight on your hands and will need to show patience and perseverance. I for one am going to pray that a pink is forthcoming when this last hurdle is done.

It does seem as you know now that you were a tad unprepared for the consulate. You do have red flags but most do that try for a visa. Please follow the suggestions as much as you can that is being offered but please keep in touch and let us know the outcome either way. We have had ladies sponsored men also that were successful and even one that had a hard time but overcame all. Personally from what I read so far that you posted and if I was thinking like a CO would be hesitant and careful issuing a visa. Again I will say a prayer for you both.

Thank you luckytxn. I like your Userid because hopefully it will bring me luck :-) I will definitely keep you all posted!

  3. Hello, you can try to request your flight info from U.S. Customs and Border Protection

Under the 2nd link on the main page, go to Item #9 of the doc..there is info on how to contact the CBP to obtain your travel records. Good luck...

TIME PROCESS CAN TAKE UP FROM A FEW WEEKS TO A FEW MONTHS!!!!!!!!!!!!YIKES!

My guess is that I am going to explain why I don't have the dates stamp on my visa and submit the plane tickets as proof to CO.

  4. It seems like I hit the brick wall since three of my husband's cousins refuse to provide their driver license or billing statments. They said it violate their privacy regarless of what I have explained to them.

Questions: Okay, one of my husband's aunt in USA has two marriages. My husband is very close with the kids (a.k.a my husband's cousins) from the first marriage who are Vietnamese, but the kids from his aunt's second marriage who are Amnerican whom my husband has no contact or relationship with whatsoever. So my question is that should I included the kids from the second marriage as my husband's cousins? They are the one did not want to cooperative by provding me the copy of their driver license or billing statement.

Thank you in advance for your help!

  5. Thank you Settetle Rain for your response. Those are exactly what they are asking from my husband as well:

    1) Full Name in Vietnamese

    2) Full Name in English (If Applicable)

    3) Date of Birth

    4) Relationship to Beneficiary

    5) Current Address

    6) Telephone Numbers (home, work and cell)

    7) Evidence of Residence at that address such as utility bill and/or driver's license copies.

Did they ask for your passport pages to confirm the dates you were in Vietnam? All of the one I know who flew back for my wedding, included mine, our passport pages are all blank because they did not stamped it!!! My previous two trips as well.

Did your case get pink already? Thanks once again for your response.

  6. The consulate is more concerned about you being able to prove that the petitioner and beneficiary are together in te same place at that particular time. So being able to prove that you left the USA doesn't show that you were in VN. So you need to have boarding passes, credit card receipts, hotel receipts etc. As much hard evidence as you can find to show that you were in Vietnam.

See, my husband had all of those documents on his first interview but they didn't ask for those evidences; therefore, he did not show to CO? I mean, when is a good time to show to CO. I heard diffent stories from different members. Some CO will flat out tell you that "if I don't ask for it then don't show them to me!"

Thank you Ronnie&Hang for a valuable link. I will give them a call tomorrow. I just hope they don't take more than a month to send me my travel records.

  8. yea i get those loose leaf visas also. i think when you buy plane tix from local (vietnamese) travel agencies they don't want to keep your passports to affix the "sticker" visa...so they get the loose leaf ones for you.

even if vietnam don't stamp them, you still have your stopovers stamps such as korea or china or taiwan or hong kong to provide a little more proof you were travelling on those dates.

Well, I have one stamp in Korea due to stopover for eight hours and I actually stepped out of the air port for the free city tour. That is why I have the stamp from Korea. On other two trips, I was stayed inside China and Japan air-port waiting for the next flight; therefore, I got no stamps from either places.

  9. this is an unusual case in that it's a woman USC petitioning for a male viet beneficiary...who was set up by the male's cousin (with many more relatives in the USA). you guys were also hurriedly engaged after only a brief 2 weeks meeting. there are red flags all over the place!

i don't mean to get personal but does your husband's family have substantial assets in vietnam? are you financially stable and working as a single mother? imo the CO wants to see if it's a marriage for money (it's been known to happen  ). good luck to you guys...

LOL..You are absolutely right, Quan!....My relatives in Vietnam did not believe we were real either until they saw us at the wedding...I have never thought of marry someone for a million years in Vietnam either, but I guess that is what you called fate...I worked hard to support my son since I don't get child support. I don't have a serious relationship for the past seven years because I am working alots and instead of being on the date, I chose to spend most of my time with my son...On a personal note, I go for personality and not for the money because I believe money you can make and it can comes and goes; therefore, most of the guys I dated were broke! LOL...My friends thought that I married to a millioniar as well, but no, he is a common guy who works hard and value family type of guy, which is important for my son and I at this point. That is why I have pointed out the possible red flags to CO on my introduction.

  10. I have been to Vietnam 3 times, my passport was never stamped. I know others with the same.

Phewww! I was freak out for a moment. Mine are the same and I have been there three times as well. Thank you Dan_P for your validation! I think they wanted to test for my honesty :-)

  11. I recently was asked for these information and inside they asked exactly what you wrote above with the additional all their home phone, work phone, and cell phone numbers for all the relatives. They only ask for the relative current address, date of birth, American name and Vietnamese name. Also, copy of utility bills or driver license with their addresses listed.

Thank you JimvaPhuong for your rely :-) Good to know that I am not alone. I have been have anxieties for the past two weeks.

  13. Your US passport was not stamped when you entered Vietnam? That sounds unlikely. You need to supply boarding passes to confirm your travel dates. Itineraries will not be enough.

Yes, update, expand upon the relationship timeline if appropriate. This is likely the final opportunity to get information in front of the CO. Failure here is probably denial.

I would draft the family listing for him so that you are sure it is complete and in the format the Jim suggested. Send him the document in Viet and English for notarization.

Yes,I have checked of all the people that flew back to Vietnam for my wedding, neither of them have their passport stamped as well. I will write a the letter to CO explain that as well.

I have submitted my timeline already and I have said what I needed to say on that timeline; thefore, I do not know how to "evolution" it. May I PM you my original timeline and have your input???

    Thanks,

  14. Give the CO what they are asking for. Include a more detailed "evolution of relationship" statement if you want. It's likely your last opportunity to have evidence considered.

good.gif Should get some great input here.

    Anh Map,

What do mean by "evolution of relationship" statement? Is it the same as our relationship timeline? Which I have already submitted with the first blue slip. Should I also include our wedding pictures along with our pictures together on my third trip? Keep in mind that my husband's first interview was two days prior to our wedding.

  15. Sorry for being unclear.

I am a petitioner who lives in USA and I am American citizen. They are asking for my husband (beneficiary)'s relatives information. Now, from my understanding, if they asking for beneficiary'a information then it needs to notarize in Vietnam right or it doesn't matter to which country?

My husband just fax me the second blue slip which also requesting from me as follow:

Petitioner: Please provide photocopies of your passport pages to confirm the dates you were in Vietnam. Also, please provide any travel documents (plane tickets, visas, etc.) supporting the dates you claimed to have been in Vietnam.

I do keep all the plane tickets BUT on the past three trips to VN, no one has stamp on my passport. I was wondering why the first time but thought VN policies has changed so therefore they don't need to stamp it. Now my passport is blank!! HELP!!!!What should I do???????????????

  16. Thank you for your very informative information. Another question I have is that they need this information to be notarized. Should this letter to be notarized in USA or in VN? Thanks much.

  17. BTW....We are gathering his relatives information who lives in America right now. I am thinking write out like this:

His sister/husband's home address and work address

    Their children's name (Minors)

    Then his Third Aunt's address

Her Children's names (Not going to mention the address)

    Then his Fourth Aunt's address

Her Children's names. (Not mention the addres and I am not going to mention some of her children who now lived in Holland becuase they only ask for USA)

Do you think it is good to go to the lawyer at this point since currently I have agency to help me out with paper work. I affraid once my husband turn in documents requested from second blue slip then and get denied and it is too late at this point.

Please give me your suggesions. Thank you very very much

  18. Moved from IR1/CR1 forum to Vietnam regional forum so that OP can receive consulate specific feedback.

Thank you Anh Map for moving my question to the correct forum. No wonder I did not have much responses

    for the past few days.

  19. Many here have relatives in the US and got pink.... do a search of VN regional for the list of relatives discussion...

I think the reason they need to know my husband's relatives in USA is because his cousin who introduced us also has the same last name as mine. So CO might think some how we are related. I hope we will get pink after this second blue slip. I am hoping CO doesn't think this is a sham or else they have already mention the proof for bonda fide either in the first blue slip or even second slip.

  20. Many here have relatives in the US and got pink.... do a search of VN regional for the list of relatives discussion...

Thank you ScottThuy for your tip. I am learning how to navigate this website as I go. It is very comforting to know where to go to look up the information.

  21. So did you turn in the evidence of your son's dad address? If you did then what did you turn in?

I wrote in notarized letter that we rarely spoke after found out that I was pregnant. We didn't ask each other's business after that day and the only time we talk was about my son. My ex-boyfriend only picked up my son once in a while for the weekend and spend time at his parent's house so I stated and wrote out his parent's address. I could of asking his family for his billing statement, but I affraid CO going to think if I stated we were not together and rarely communicate than why I have his billing statment. Is it too late to turn it in if I can get it from his sister/brother since they have requested on the first blue slip?

  22. My husband has turned in all of the requested from the blue slip today 7/18/2011, and he just got out of the HMCM Ambassy. Now he receieved the second blue slip and they wanted the list of all his relatives in United States. I am thinking that they think this relationship is not ginuiene. He has two aunts who sponsors total of their 13 kids. I am affraid that CO would think that my husband has too may relatives in America and paid me to get him to USA. I have two questions. Besides listing out the name of the aunts and the 13 kids (which are my husband's cousins.) Does my husband needs to list out the kids of his 13 cousins as well? (That would be my husbands nieces and nephews.) The second question I have is that does anybody in here has many relatives who currently lived in America that got approved with pink????

Thank you very much for your responding.

  23. Hi all!

I wished I have know this website before my husband's interview and before I submitted the relationship timeline. I did know getting Visa from VN is this hard becuase I was thinking that if our relationship is real then there is nothing to worry. But after I've learned what I have read on internet, I broke out a cold sweat with many sleepness night. Here is my general timeline of our relationship. We have been introduced by my Dad's former longtime coworker in September 2009. My first trip was in January 29th 2010 and he proposed to me on February 14th 2010 at Tan Son Nhat Airport, that was on Valentine's day and also the day I flew back to America. My second trip to Vietnam was on September 18th 2010 to sign our marriage license and came back to United States on October 15th, 2010. My third trip was just recently, it was on June 9th, 2011 thru June 28th, 2011 for our wedding. We got married on June 18th, 2011, but coincidentally, he got the letter to schedule for interview 2 days prior to our wedding. He got all the dates right, even the date when did we go and sign our marriage license. He got a blue slip asking 4 notarized letters in English if possible (3 from me and 1 from him asking for his past 10 years of residency.) I felt so naive and dumb after reading the postings on this website.

    They asked for:

Time line of our relationship ( I only wrote about 1 1/2 pages. I thought make it short and sweet becuase nobody has time to read down to the details. Keep in mind that I did not found this website until after the blue slip.

Where/who have I lived with for the last 10 years

Where and how my son'd dad lived and evident of his address. ( I have a son out of a weddlock and we rarely communicate to each other after the birth of my son so I have no evident of his address)

My husband was scheduled to submit all these in on June 14th, 2011 which is today. When he got there, they also asking my husband's past 10 years of residency in Vienamese as well and he only have the one tranlsated in English. They told him to come back on this Monday 7/18/2011.

    Possible reg flags to CO:

I am female/single mom who married husband in Vietnam

I am six years older than my husband but he looks older than I am.

I have kid and he doesn't, but we both have never been married before.

I have much higher education than he does.

My guts feeling is that we might end up with the white slip on this Monday. Any thought????By the way, my husband said that the two female interviewers are very nice and friendly. I am praying every day and loosing sleep :-(.

Thank you in advance for your comments.

I meant that I DID NOT know getting Visa in Vietnam is this difficult...
