I'm not quite sure if this should also be in the CR/IR Forum but it is directly based on my K1-Visa situation. Here's the sticky situation, I'm the beneficiary of a K1 Visa Petition which has been approved and am now awaiting an Interview date. Looking at the timeline however there's a possibility that I may have the job opportunity of a lifetime(interview leading to job offer,in my home country) in the time frame that I would be in the USA awaiting my AP & EAD. Would it be wiser to get an info-pass to expedite the AP so I can return home or just withdraw the K1-Visa Petition all together and start from scratch with the CR-1. The job in question would see me travelling back and forth to the USA daily/weekly if successful.
I am really at a crossroads here so any helpful advice is much appreciated.
Before you make any sudden moves about withdrawing your K1 pettition I would suggest that you attend the job interview first. See if you are presented with a suitable offer rather than just the perks of travelling to the United States.
If your status changes to Cr1 how would you keep your job in Jamaica and be a green card holder in the United States/

congratssssssssss
Need you guys help we already submitted our tax info to the NVC. I know we have to take the orignal I1864 EZ to the interview but do we have to take original W2s and 1040s
-
Go ahead fill it out send it to hubby. Please hand write the date
-
Team hang in there finished the NVC within 15 days of receiving case number yeah
-
ok so our cr1 was finally approved on thursday, yyyaaayyy!
so now on to nvc...when our case gets there is it them who make the first contact or do we call everyday to find out if its there yet?
when it does get there how long for a case #? can anyone tell me the average timeline a case spends at the nvc?
thanks much everyone, just trying to stay on top of things
...hubby will be here in 3 weeks and it would be great tp be finished with nvc for that time (in terms of sending in both packets and fees)
The NVC takes 20 days to issue you a case number when you reach day number 15 keep calling. As soon as you recieve your case number contact the NVC operator and register the emails of both you and your hubby. Request also the invoice identification number.
The NVC will email you and your hubby the package with the DS3032 form and the AOS bill.
Pay the bill online from your bank account using your account and routing numbers. This is $ dollars. Once the bill is marked paid you will print the AOS cover sheet. Attach it to your AOS package and mail it to the NVC.
You will then pay the IV bill of USD 404 online. Once this is marked paid again mail the IV package to the NVC

Hey got my invoice number was able to sign in but the select box did not work so I was unable to pay. Now when I try to sign in again it is telling me signed in fail.

The new evidence came up in the response your fiance gave to consular officer. Although you knew each other in 1999 you did not establish a relationship until 2006 therefore your fiance must indicate that you started dating in 2006. The year 1999 should never come up in the discussion as you had no serious relations at that time. You may try to appeal

Im 3 weeks away from five most, I'm also a June filer, and I'm tired of waitig. I'm emailing my congressman today! Whether it helps or not!
Your approval is coming start seeing it in your mind's eye. Today I was feeling a little off waiting on my case number and I was surprised when the NVC operator told me my case number! YEAH! Thank you GOD ! GOD is GOOD ALL THE TIME! So your approval is coming

Is it necessary for the no enpediment to marriage form? I was told that it takes a long time to recieve it even if you pay for expedited request. I also was told that on the police record it contains on that type of information. Is there anyone out there that did not have the form at the time of the interview if so could you please give some advice. Reason is that it is a slim chance that a individual may have it on time for the interview, truth be told that kinda bothers me
A No-Impediment Certificate or single status affidavit is issued by the RGD on security paper. This document is issued to persons who have never been married in the island of Jamaica. The no-impediment certificate is usually requested by the embassy when the pettion is filed by US Citizen sponsoring a child over the age of 16 yrs old. Although there are instances when a fiance may be asked to produce this document.
The RGD issues this certificate and it is usually valid for 6 months. It is best to apply for the no-impediment atlest two months before your interview as this is an intricate document to prepare. The RGD will use the individuals birth records to search their marriage data inorder to prepare the no-impediment certificate. Therefore it is best that you do not apply for a birth certificate and the no-impediment at the same time as this could result in delays.
Here is the information required when submitting an application for a no-impediment:
Child's name (name of the person who the certifcate is being applied for)
Date of Birth
Place of Birth
Birth Registration Number
Places in Jamaica the applicant has lived since the age of 16
Mothers Name
Fathers Name

Well congrats on your approval.
I send my prayers to you and your family I am pray that you will get through without any blue sheet. Remember to ensure that your husband and kids have the following:
Birth Certificates on security paper
Proof of your US Citizenship
Police Record
Form I1864 and supporting documents.
The proof of US Citizenship or LPR status of the pettitioner
Relationship evidence
If kids over 16 they may need a no-impediment certificate on security paper

Im not sure about that Sus but maybe. My friend ordered one a few weeks ago and it said record located and came back with no marriages found and a No imped Cert was produced and deliverd on the security paper saying no marriage record found. I think there has to be no marriages found record located or marriages found record located to get to the next step of certificate processing, then generated, then dispatched. But we will see. If it says Record not located on the status query (whith no check mark) the process is stopped and at a stand still until whatever record they are looking for is found and cannot get to the next step of certificate procceing on the status query.
Fortunately the information presented is not a suss . Your friend may have recieved his certificate in record time as his record may have been filed back in the vault speedily. Additionally they may have used the duplicate record to produce the no-impediment.
Bear in mind that although a no-impediment certificate is used to establish that an individual is single. It is the birth record that is used to establish the identity of the applicant. Therefore if the birth record cannot be located the application cannot be satisfied

The information have presented in the email regarding experiencing delays with a no-impediment following the recent application for a birth certificate is very reliable. As I suggested in previous emails your spouse needs to visit the RGD's Twickeham Park Head Office and speak with customer service supervisor. Your spouse may also request to speak with a manager. There are many factors that can impact the processing of a no-impediment such as:
Name change by deedpoll
Incorrect place and date of birth
Information presented on the application does not match birth details for person been searched
The birth details for a no-impediment is very important as a no-impediment seeks to establish whether the applicant was ever married in the island of Jamaica. The applicant birth record is matched against marriage records in the RGDs system. Therefore it birth record is otherwise engaged i.e being used to produce a birth certificate then this will result in delays.
Once again I advise you to speak with the supervisor at (876)619-1260

In response to the question "Why a recent application would impact on the production of a birth certificate?" The recent or current application of a birth certificate may cause delays in the production a no-impediment certificate as the birth record which is used to produce the no-impediment certifcate is used to produce the birth certificate. Therefore the persons may not have their application satisfied in time for their interviews. You need to speak with a superviseor or the production manager to have your case expedited.

The RGD has a number of intricate processes that must be observed when producing a certificate of any kind. A no impediment certificate involves a far more detailed process than marriage or birth certificate. If your fiance has applied for a birth certificate recently then he may experience some delays in obtaining the no-impediment. He should visit the RGD and speak with a supervisor inorder to have his documents expedited

I emailed them.
I picked up my police record in 7days. The Ministry of Justice offers two services and they are very efficient

You are not outside your normal processing time. The current processing time is 5months which means 5 months since the date of your NOA1. Your processing time should end on October 6, 2011

Your story is interesting and it sounds very familar. Are you older than this woman? There are many cases where individuals marry US citizens with the sole intent of immigrating to the United States, once the process is complete they divorce their spouse. They will later file a pettition for their boyfriend in the other country to join them in the United States.
I suggest you speak with your wife and indicate to her how much you are hurt by her behaviour. However you should know that money never buys love if may buy companionship but not love! What is it you want in a marriage? Do you want unconditional love where the person have your back no matter what. Or do you want companionship? You sound like a wonderful man and I am certain that there are beautiful, smart and loving women out there who will give their kidney to be with a man like you. Start today by loving yourself truly and purely and the decision about your marriage will come.

I hope this is not too late in coming. I applied for my polic record 2 weeks ago and the process is very simple. Persons seeking to obtain a police record in Jamaica may make payment at their nearest tax office, additionally payment may also be made at the Ministry of National Security Dept at the Mutual Life Building (now NCB Towers) on Oxford Rd in Kingston.
Once payment is made the customer should take the receipt to Duke Street in Down Town Kingston, they should have 2 passport size photographs and a copy of their passport. They will then be finger printed and be given a date to return. Their shortest service is 7 working days which is 2,500 Jamaica dollars or about 30 USD.

Hi guys, just back checking to see how everyone is holding up. I miss,my husband so much some days I don't know if I'm coming or going, and after awhile no one cares to hear you whine anymore. So i try hard to put on a happy face though I'm sad inside. I am getting discouraged I was initially happy that I was at csc because Vermont had the rep for being slower, well all I can say is karma is a ###### becuz vsc is ahead by a month and a half. I know it soon come, nut patience is not my strong point!
I know how you feel i miss my husband madly. But this exercise is teaching me virtue of patience

Congratulations ! I am very happy for you

This happens all the especially with fathers when they have taken care of a child they thought was theirs. You husband has the option to adopt the children and then file a new pettition for them. I recommend that you speak with an immigration lawyer on the matter

The decision to move to another country is a major one as you would have to resocialised in the culture , the laws and everything. I will be moving to the United States to be with my husband in a couple of months and I am very excited about starting our lives together. However I do have concerns about finding a job that I will equal opportunities for travel and exposure as I did in my own country. Moreover I will have to adjust my finances and other areas of my life so that may be a bit daunting for your fiance. Bear in mind she is not coming to the United States as your wife I certain she may be thinking what if he does not want marry me ? What what will happen to her ? She may have start over if she goes home so her fears are indeed justified

You will also need to submitt original marriage certificate along with your hubby's original birth certificate.
Thanks
I forgot to ask an important question.. when we started filing, we thought we would get approved much later and that's why I booked a 2 1/2-month-trip to the Philippines, to spend time with my family and visit my mom-in-law before moving to my husband. I'll fly early august and hope someone knows the answer.
Since we did all the paperwork with an attorney (because of my visa waiver overstay last year and another thing that happened before I left) I just wanna send all the stuff needed from me for the NVC to my hubby.. so did I miss anything important?
- Biographic page of my passport
- police clearance certificate
- original international birth certificate
- passport pictures
And also, will I get anything via mail to my address anytime soon? (I'm the beneficiary.)
Thanks in advance for all the answers!

The United States Embassy in Kingston or immigration will need the marriage certificate on security paper issued by the Registrar General's Department. The document given to you by the minister is not a certificate but a copy of the marriage register. Apply to the Registrar General's Department for the marriage certificate
